| Welcome to the home of the 2015 Azteca - NBCSN man-game team. The unique combination of our two television sponsors with a shared goal to improve the visibility and quality of cycling in the western hemisphere. |
One of the primary goals of the team is to maintain a competitive team of riders hailing only from the Americas, and racing as much as possible on home soil. A diverse spectrum of sponsors from both continents ensures that talent from all over is welcome and wanted.
2015 offers new challenges along with the promotion to the Pro-Continental level of cycling and accomplishes our primary goal of improving the visibility of racing to the Americas. With our entire squad still together from our first season, we will race into the season, aiming to continue to improve by adding more talent to our squad and showing off the improvements our existing riders have made from last season.

2015 Transfer Season Review
By many accounts this will be looked at as a rough transfer season for the team. Though the exact results are yet to be know Azteca was only able to secure one leader for the PCT level. The team did add an immense amount of depth, but that is seldom viewed as a strength either. Here is the list of comings and goings on the team.
FA Signings: Anthony | €50,000 | Becerra | €50,000 | Bergeron | €50,000 | Brea | €110,000 | Briceno | €50,000 | Codrington | €50,000 | Coronel | €50,000 | Corwin | €65,000 | Montaña | €55,000 | Murillo | €100,000 | Pulido | €50,000 | Quevedo | €60,000 | Saldarriaga | €50,000 | Salinas | €50,000 | Serpa | €50,000 | Summerhill | €590,000 | Vasquez | €50,000 | Villegas | €50,000 |
Transfers Ardila | Out | €50,000 | Haedo | Out | €50,000 | Marentes | Out | €100,000 | Millan | Out | €175,000 |

Wildcards for the 2015 season were announced in full yesterday and we have learned we will be going to a few of our top requests.
| A 192 kilometer classic from Gaeta into Rome and riding on the legendary Via Appia Antica where the cobbles will test anyone and everyone on the ancient Roman road that connected Roma to Brindisi. Previous winners at the PT level event are Sam Bewley and Fabian Cancellara and one year at the CT level was won by Bart Wellens. |
This year the Belgian cycling season gets a new start, with Het Neiusblad, and K-B-K pushed into a three day stage race along with an equally daunting team time-trial over the same terrain. We are thrilled to be part of this event (though our riders may not be).
| Not that this monument needs any introduction but the Hell of the North is our on schedule. The 259.2 kilometer route is lined with cobbles in the 2nd half of the race and the legendary sections such as Trouée d'Arenberg and the likely selective Carrefour de l’Arbre. Just reaching the velodrome will be an achievement for some of our riders. |

I'm sure Summerhill is very happy. I thought about going after him for my team but I decided to stick with my prospect Altur and let him take the reins and lead our cobble team this season.
Looking forward to seeing what I missed out on by sticking with Altur.

No free wins on the cobbles this season for the PCT.

The opening day for the Pro Continental teams and the opening day for us too, and will provide a very quick test for our sprinter Tyler Farrar who goes from being one of the favorites in races at the CT level to not getting mentioned as a credible threat to win in the PCT. We will be looking to find the early breakaway and let other teams do the working while Tyler tries to pick the right wheels to follow and can hopefully put up a good showing should the stage conclude in the predicted mass sprint.
Azteca - NBCSN Lineup | | | 101 | | Farrar, Tyler | 102 | | Brea, Anthony José | 103 | | Codrington, Marc | 104 | | Corwin, Dadley | 105 | | Crespo, Marcos | 106 | | Duque, Leonardo | 107 | | Summerhill, Danny | 108 | | Vaquera, César |

It would be a good race for Azteca, as Danny Summerhill lit up the race with a late attack that would stick, carrying a few other with him that would work out a sprint for the stage between them.
The effort to pull the group off the front of the sprinters would take it's toll though as he would be unable to sprint for the win, but would hold on for a fantastic 4th place ahead of the dangerous sprint quickly coming behind.
It was exactly the type of opener we were looking for and a terrific start for our star signing this year. Azteca will be back later this month in Vuelta al Tachira.

Tachira will be our first stage race, and the first test for our team to see if we can come away with points in these races. Doing so will be pivital to our stay in the PCT and so we have sent a mixed bag team, with both some sprinting capability in Brea and Vaquera, along with a handful of climbers in Quintana, Briceno, Murillo, and RodrÃguez. And two punchier types in Quevedo and Villegas. Breakaways will be our friend, and we are ready to go.
Azteca - NBCSN Lineup | | | 81 | | Brea, Anthony José | 82 | | Briceno, Jimmi | 83 | | Murillo, Juan | 84 | | Quevedo, Xavier | 85 | | Quintana, Nairo | 86 | | RodrÃguez, Jackson | 87 | | Vaquera, César | 88 | | Villegas, Juan |

Summerhill is a great rider. And he already showed his greatness at Down Under Classic.
Quintana might find too competition hard in Tachira I think |

Need this to stay true all season.

Probably will stay true all season.
Quintana is not likely to ever be a favorite for a race, and may end up being a very low scorer for our team as he won't do much in the breakaways either since he will be the team leader. Hopefully we can get a good feel for how these races are going to play out for our team as our lineup for virtually all of the stage races looks something like this.

Yeah I hope you will stay up because a team with Summerhill and Quintana looks cool.
Is Quintana on loan? |

Yes, he is on loan from Orange - KLM so he won't likely be with the team next year.

News from the PT!
David Veilleux rode in Badaling International finishing 133rd (+5'31) over the very hilly route.
He then also joined the team in the Tour of Qatar. Finishing 148th (+5'26) over the course of the tour.
We are happy to see he is getting the experience of riding in the top level of the sport. And we will try to keep up to date on his racing and that of Jonathan Salinas who is on loan to Metinvest-Dacia, but yet to race.

A good first day for us as Xavier Quevedo makes a move to get into the breakaway, but ultimately is caught as the field raced for a bunch sprint. Anthony José Brea was in the early mix for the sprint, but was unfortunatly unable to match the speed and faded to 17th.
17 | | Anthony José Brea | 2h25'13 | 31 | | Jackson RodrÃguez | s.t | 39 | | Nairo Quintana | s.t | 50 | | Juan Murillo | s.t | 51 | | César Vaquera | s.t | 60 | | Jimmi Briceno | s.t | 99 | | Xavier Quevedo | + 3'24 | 114 | | Juan Villegas | + 5'23 |
