The HC classic on the world famous F1 circuit in Interlagos is ready to be kicked off: perfect weather, enjoy your time.

Haussler and Van der Sande as the top-favorites, while also some puncheurs like Dowsett or Betancourt may try to make their nominations pay off.

It took us quite a while for a first group of 3 riders finally being able to establish a gap on the pack, with several earlier attempts of bigger groups not allowed to go clear:

So with Landa, we see one of the strongest puncheurs going for the early move today!

A quiet race until the final 20kms, with the peloton allowing the breakaway to build a gap up to five minutes at half-time: several empty-handed attacks out of the bunch then, which didn't stand a chance thanks to the high pace in this chase. Suparman, Zabalo, Horton and also Vaitkus with short-lived attacks.

With now 10km remaining, we see a next attempt by three riders, who quickly swallow Ito as the last remaining early escapee!

That's an ever dangerous situation for the peloton, but today, teams like Project: Africa, Karcher and Nutresa (to name the most active) seem to be in control of any attacks.

Maaskant as the only one of those late attackers to yet hold on to a small gap, while we see the trains for the bunch sprint being formed:

So except of Avila and Manan, we see all the best sprinters at the front - both punchy and pure ones!

Maaskant is done close to the flamme rouge, as Aregger/Colbrelli and Sousa/Haussler lead the bunch into the final km now!

The battle for the best position is on... and Haussler is yet leaving his leadout's slipstream with Bennett/Hoffman/Van der Sande behind him..

Aregger releasing Colbrelli as well now, with Boeckmans, Haussler and Farrar now ahead of Bennett and Hoffman/Van der Sande/Vesely!

Manarelli, Sobota and also Ventoso seem to be too far behind for line honours at least..

..but it will be a tight sprint anyway: Colbrelli struggling and Boeckmans boxed in by Aregger!

Haussler, Farrar and a now strong kicking Hoffman with a slight advantage over the others.. Del Nero as Nutresa's hope for a Top-10, fighting to go past Ventoso, Rizza, Sobota..

Hoffman the fastest now, going past Haussler and Farrar! Van der Sande now trying to leave his wheel, so does Vesely..

..but pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/afr.png Hoffman lungs in for a prestigious victory ahead of pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ers.png Van der Sande and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/kar.png Haussler! Beating the two top-favorites with a perfectly timed sprint, that's the Hoffman we used to know two years ago. Well done and a nice way to pay his hard working teammates something back here.

Vesely with a nice 4th place ahead of Farrar, Bennett, Colbrelli and Boeckmans - the latter picking the wrong wheel maybe. At least Aregger (10th) might have cost him a better result. Manarelli 9th, with Ventoso settling for a quiet 11th place ahead of Del Nero, Sobota and Rizza.. Chernobyl won't be happy about Vaitkus' earlier attack, as he sprints just for an 18th place eventually. We have seen him doing such things before, though.
