10km climbing, 10km downhill.. individual timetrial today!

Machado leading by 22" on Rujano and 27" on Keizer. This promises a thrilling fight today.

Let's sum up the earlier action and mainly focus on the fight for yellow here. Tough conditions (30-35kmh crosswinds), but more or less the same for everyone. A few notable performances so far, including Intxausti, who disappointed the previous days:

So Intxausti at least beating some higher placed GC-contenders, even though it's of course a pretty narrow provisional lead..

We're now already inside the Top-10 of the GC and we may expect some changes in the stage results, obviously.

Brajkovic with a strong showing, beating Intxausti by 6 seconds eventually!

Contador is then much stronger though and his new best time looks like the time to beat here:

30 seconds faster than Brajkovic at the finish!

Valls in the same range as Brajkovic, but he's a second faster eventually!

Van den Broeck may still aim for the podium here and his performance today surely looks promising. He's faster than Contador at the split and also sets a new best time at the finish:

VDB and Contador with the strongest performance of all favorites, while GC's 11th Hacecký struggles against those better climbers now. Both Marquez and Panayotov losing some time on GC's 9th Brajkovic.

And now for the fight for yellow: Keizer as the first at the split(s) and the chance to put some pressure on Rujano and Machado.

The Dutchman is third at the half-time split, being 19 seconds slower than Van den Broeck at this point.

Rujano was strong yesterday, but the mountain goat doesn't exactly look too good today. Already down by a minute at the first split and even worse at half-time:

1'40" slower than VDB! That's almost one and a half minute lost on Keizer and just 29th placed at the split. He's in danger to drop off the podium instead of attacking Machado!

Even more, since Machado puts up a strong performance on the challenging slopes:

best time at the second split, beating VDB by 10 seconds - so he's 29 seconds faster than Keizer!

Keizer now at the finish and he comes in as 3rd at the line:

Machado almost catching up to Rujano then! That's quite some news.. Rujano clearly suffering from yesterday's efforts, while Machado apparantly keeps to impress here.

He's 6 seconds faster than Van den Broeck and takes the stage that way:

A horrible day for Rujano..

For the GC now:

Machado increasing his lead to 53" on new 2nd Keizer. Van den Broeck moving up to 3rd with 1'26" on Machado.. Rujano dropping to 4th (+ 2.16), narrowly holding off Contador (2.26) and Valls (2.44).

Marquez and Panayotov still ahead of Brajkovic, who's coming closer though. Abal 10th ahead of Sella, while Hacecký still goes pretty strong as 12th ahead of Eastman, Nerz and Hirschlein. Intxausti 18th now.
