| Welcome to the home of the 2017 Azteca - NBCSN man-game team. The unique combination of our two television sponsors with a shared goal to improve the visibility and quality of cycling in the western hemisphere. |
One of the primary goals of the team is to maintain a competitive team of riders hailing only from the Americas, and racing as much as possible on home soil. A diverse spectrum of sponsors from both continents ensures that talent from all over is welcome and wanted.
The fifth season in the man-game continues the progression back into the PCT. Our first two years were plenty successful as we were able to promote in our first season and our second established the team as one that should be comfortably in the PCT. Year three was disappointing, relegating back to CT, and last year wasn't as good as originally thought to be. Luckily we persisted and were able to promote back up into the PCT and again begin the struggle to remain and improve. | |

Transfer Season : Planning
After an unexpectedly rough CT season, we somehow managed to promote and face a daunting task of building a team to survive PCT this season.
As always our team sponsors are steadfast in allowing only riders from the Americas to race for the team. This creates a unique list of riders we look to go after, both as free agents and potential transfers.
Unsurprisingly our top target will be the return of Danny Summerhill, though this may be a task too difficult for us to achieve. Beyond that much remains open but we will need to acquire leaders for essentially every terrain and then fill in a reasonable supporting squad around them.
We won't be looking to outright sell any of our riders, and without solid plans to improve the squad it may not be until later that we will consider a transfer. We will be listening to offers and will adjust our plans according to financial needs as the transfer window progresses.

We have some new signings coming into the team now, generally designed to support our leaders, and improve on our much lacking acceleration ability. Also included is the Chilean national champion!
| Name | FL | MT | HL | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | Edison Bravo | 70 | 70 | 76 | 64 | 74 | 73 | 70 | 55 | 65 | 70 | 71 | 71 | 66 | | Félix Emilio Besada | 67 | 62 | 75 | 54 | 72 | 73 | 63 | 58 | 55 | 75 | 56 | 55 | 54 | | VÃctor Hugo Orozco | 64 | 76 | 66 | 61 | 68 | 71 | 68 | 52 | 61 | 76 | 75 | 61 | 61 |
On a negative note, essentially all of our transfer targets have missed their mark, which will likely leave us very weak in several areas this upcoming season.

Nationality restrictions for Loanees?
The team has asked the sponsors to waive the nationality restriction for loaned in riders, with the hopes that getting the local fans to support up and coming talents from around the world might broaden interest in the sport and expand marketing possibilities.

More new riders join the team, continuing to add to the overall depth of the squad particularly around supporting Eastman and Chaves this season.
| Name | FL | MT | HL | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | Sergio Ortega | 65 | 76 | 65 | 75 | 68 | 74 | 74 | 51 | 53 | 62 | 59 | 59 | 73 | | Walter Trillini | 69 | 63 | 73 | 65 | 73 | 68 | 72 | 57 | 73 | 75 | 69 | 67 | 73 | | Wolfgang Burmann | 65 | 74 | 68 | 66 | 65 | 72 | 68 | 50 | 54 | 74 | 63 | 62 | 63 |
We are making one last serious push for Summerhill to return, but still remain very doubtful to see this come to fruition.

The Sponsors have agreed that up two riders can be loaned in from outside our regional borders of North and South America. We will be looking carefully to make the best decisions possible, but we have both the wage and loan cap to make things happen for a rider with a wage of 200k or more.

With looking to the future more prevalent in the mind of the team we have made an effort to make sure we bring in the best youth talent to continue to support our squad in the future. We are happy to announce our four newest riders!
| Name | FL | MT | HL | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | Neilson Powless | 69 | 68 | 67 | 71 | 69 | 69 | 69 | 59 | 64 | 70 | 63 | 64 | 71 | | German Nicolas Tivani | 65 | 63 | 65 | 62 | 66 | 73 | 66 | 56 | 70 | 73 | 72 | 67 | 67 | | Alexander Cowan | 65 | 56 | 68 | 57 | 66 | 69 | 65 | 50 | 68 | 70 | 69 | 63 | 68 | | Jhonatan Casillas | 67 | 63 | 64 | 71 | 67 | 69 | 65 | 54 | 61 | 73 | 66 | 72 | 71 |
There will be some debate on how to best steer their potential, but these riders already have some to offer the team and will only get much much better.

First Transfer and more Signings!
We made our first dip into the transfer market getting a solid sprinter in Luke Keough who is also exceptional in prologues as well. We then add another young talent in William Barta and a breakaway star in Ethan Weiss.
| Name | FL | MT | HL | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | Luke Keough | 73 | 59 | 62 | 58 | 67 | 73 | 73 | 59 | 79 | 79 | 63 | 75 | 80 | | William Barta | 68 | 71 | 70 | 69 | 67 | 70 | 65 | 54 | 72 | 66 | 65 | 56 | 71 | | Ethan Weiss | 74 | 58 | 73 | 67 | 74 | 68 | 69 | 54 | 67 | 77 | 79 | 64 | 67 |
We really have some high expectations for this trio of Americans both now and in the future. Keough comes by way of RBC Pro Cycling a fine consolation prize as they still have Danny Summerhill who we were unable to pry away from them.

In the middle of the window, we managed to our two foreign talents to help develop, adding Hampus Anderberg, a Swedish classics talent from Aker-MOT. We also got Xuban Errazkin, from Spain, after some mix ups in his paperwork in our loan deal with Desigual. Xuban likely will become a force on either the climbs or the hills, maybe both.
We also added a pair of traditional loanees for us, with Canadian Adam Roberge, a future climber, and American Sep Kuss, who already has been in the pro ranks and will be useful on the climbs immediately.
| Name | FL | MT | HL | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | Hampus Anderberg | 71 | 64 | 68 | 69 | 70 | 71 | 74 | 70 | 60 | 72 | 69 | 61 | 69 | | Xuban Errazkin | 69 | 68 | 70 | 67 | 69 | 70 | 70 | 64 | 62 | 66 | 64 | 65 | 67 | | Adam Roberge | 66 | 69 | 62 | 64 | 71 | 69 | 63 | 61 | 60 | 64 | 47 | 64 | 64 | | Sepp Kuss | 67 | 74 | 67 | 62 | 72 | 73 | 68 | 50 | 55 | 66 | 63 | 72 | 63 |

After a moderate bidding war, we were able to sign what is likely to be our top sprinter in Raúl Granjel Cabrera, the Cuban is getting older, but still possesses a great finishing kick.
The end of the window would also be quite busy as we had money left from failed dealings and decided to start adding riders with specific specialties to help the team out in those situations.
Bolivian Champion, Óscar Solis, is a true mountain specialist, and could instantly become the best support for Eastman. Rafael Andriato becomes the only Brazilian on the team and will support either Granjel Cabrera or Keough in the sprints. Christian Meier is a time-trialist who can at least hold his own in the mountains and adds to our list of Canadians. Lastly, Purto Rican Juan Martinez is another time-trialist, and can support our forces on the flats.
| Name | FL | MT | HL | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | Raúl Granjel Cabrera | 75 | 63 | 69 | 66 | 75 | 71 | 82 | 58 | 80 | 77 | 61 | 66 | 71 | | Óscar Solis | 65 | 78 | 59 | 58 | 67 | 77 | 74 | 51 | 59 | 66 | 72 | 65 | 58 | | Rafael Andriato | 71 | 55 | 64 | 61 | 72 | 68 | 75 | 56 | 78 | 76 | 63 | 67 | 72 | | Christian Meier | 68 | 72 | 63 | 75 | 68 | 73 | 69 | 63 | 60 | 70 | 70 | 75 | 75 | | Juan Martinez | 75 | 52 | 60 | 74 | 68 | 71 | 68 | 67 | 72 | 72 | 68 | 69 | 75 |

We also made a point to pick of a little bit more youth to work with for the future. We added Julian Cardona, a future Colombian time-trialist as well as stagiares Ruben Acosta and Daniel Jara. Acosta, also from Colombia, will fit in the future as a mountain climber with exceptional descending skills. The Costa Rican, Jara, is well rounded and doesn't have a future path decided already.
Lastly in order to help out a team in trouble, and ourselves at the same time we made a crucial decision to take on one more foreign rider in loan. Adding Geremie Nzeke the Cameroonian champion to our squad.
| Name | FL | MT | HL | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | Julian Cardona | 68 | 64 | 62 | 70 | 67 | 67 | 63 | 62 | 64 | 67 | 59 | 65 | 70 | | Ruben Acosta | 66 | 69 | 61 | 63 | 74 | 72 | 64 | 63 | 62 | 58 | 63 | 75 | 63 | | Daniel Jara | 67 | 68 | 66 | 67 | 68 | 60 | 63 | 58 | 65 | 67 | 63 | 60 | 67 | | Geremie Nzeke | 67 | 72 | 76 | 61 | 72 | 67 | 67 | 63 | 66 | 68 | 75 | 74 | 63 |

A handful of our riders have gone out on loan to continue to improve their skills at the highest level. Without getting Danny Summerhill back, our cobbles squad would be relatively unnecessary so we sent our trio of Orue, Richardson and Corwin out to hone their skills. We also sent out a pair of riders we signed this year, Walter Trillini and Wolfgang Burmann to also finish off their respective skills.

With the close of transfers happening quickly, we know that we missed our mark and have a long hard season ahead of us. We quickly were able to shift our focus from surviving now to preparing for the future. The team has seen a major overhaul of the roster, leaving only very core pieces in place. Next season will likely see the opposite as the team should retain many of it's riders and continue to push their development.
So without further ado, lets introduce our leaders, some new, some old. Regardless we will be counting on them for points!
