Hello and welcome to The Library! As the name tells this is where you can find PCM stories from the oldest to the most recent!
The idea behind was that there are so many true masterpieces here, but over time the stories will just disappear and be forgotten in the subthreads. This is a big shame. With so many stories out there written by some amazing PCM.Daily users, why not give it a read as it is worth?
But because there are so many stories here, let there be some few "rules" about the stories entering the library:
1) It must be a finished story
OR
2) It must be a successful* story
*By successful, it means that..:
1) ...it lasts longer than into January
2) ...it might make an impact on the readers (inspirations to other stories as example)
3) ...it actually was a successful story, but died before the ending.
There can of course be exceptions! But right now let's keep it simple!
Lastly I want you all to suggest stories down below! Let us together make this to become a real library for both you experienced users, but also the new-comers whow we might give some history!

Stories
Right now they are in no particular order.
*I will make these parts in seasons instead of games

One-rider stories are a common genre here on PCM.Daily. It is a basic genre, but with so many opportunities to express. Here are some active stories, who are based about this genre...
It isn't as common as the one-rider stories nowadays, but it is really an exciting genre to deep in with.
The difference between this genre and the others is that you spectate races as a third person. It is pretty interesting to say at least and you should read it!

fantastic initiative DiCyc!
I'm sure many (especially older members) will come up with many good ones but here are some:
Double Feature + A Tale of Two + A Day in the Life + potentially a couple others - Ian Butler, PCM 12, PCM 12, PCM14 (I think)
The Comeback + Andy Schleck - Mresuperstar, PCM 13, PCM 11
Monster Energy - dienblad, PCM 11
Auber 93 - BigMat - rjc93, PCM 06 (I think)
Nordic Cycling - Atlantius, PCM 12 (I think)
Dan Martin story I think started the one-rider story genre
DFL - SportingNonsense, PCM 07
Columbia Sprint Train - alexkr00, PCM 09 (I think)
La Pomme Marseille - Pelizotti02 - PCM12
Novo Nordisk - sutty68, PCM 12
Karl Hammarling series (yes) - TheManxMissile, various PCMs (not really based on it for most of it) but 13 was the main one
David Veilleux series - valverde321, PCMs 10-12
Dominik Nerz series - cunego86, various PCMs
aCross the Road - Shonak, PCM 13 (I think)
Fant. Neutral Story - mpardo, PCM 09
SpiderTech series (possibly) - fernando97, various PCMs
Tour of the Chosen series - The Rider, various PCMs
Salvatore Puccio - andy222c, PCM 13 (I think)
NRS series - tsmoha, various PCMs
Bunzl-Centrica - brewers90, PCM 13 (I think)
Team Sunkist - jseadog1, never needed/wanted/got to use PCM really
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

I agree with everything jandal said and would like to add Guido Mukk's Predictor-Lotto story (PCM 07) as one notable absence from that list.
You can't say Auber and DFL but not say Predictor-Lotto.

Roturn's 2010 Garmin story, must be one of the legendaries aswell. Boasting 134 pages + 41 more in the 2011 continuation, it's one of the longest running. Possibly the longest? What a great read that was.

Yeah, it is a great read. Unfortunately I wasn't on the site, when it was written but then I would surely been one of the story's follower. I would have liked to see the pics.. however it is great and it is worth a read.
Thanks for your suggestion!

What a great initiative DiCyc! This is exactly what I needed when i started to search for some good stories of some time ago.
I want to suggest the Croatia14's story of Andy Schleck - Cant Slow Down and both Be a Pro in the 80's (in PCM 15 and 16) of Zuff.
Also, i think that you should separate the team stories and the one-rider stories.

Great effort
Haven’t been around long enough to add anything to the already solid
list. But I will certainly dig into some of those storys.
Might be an idea to rename the tread to: The Story Library, not to confuse it with some kind of PCM game wiki. ?

Would be improved by breaking the stories down into groups. Team vs One-Rider. Real vs Fantasy. Award Winners vs Cult Classics.
Adding some explanation why these stories are good would also be nice and give more reason to go and read some of them if they are particuarly good examples of something.
Kind of like was done in this: <a href="https://pcmdaily.com/forum/v...780746 which also has a few more good stories you can add to the list.
If someone wanted just a list, they could always look at Story of the Month archive, or the old Awards nominations. Try and make this more than just a list to make it more interesting.

Got some more for you. This is like an Ian Butler show but the guy is a legend!!!
Double Feature was I think his longest story. An amazing read - https://pcmdaily.c...ost_646158
Modern Times, Old Roads is another amazing story - https://pcmdaily.c...ost_895213
Roberto Velasquez was so good! - https://pcmdaily.c...ost_598903
Alright that's all hahaha. All Ian butler! That dude has gotten a lot of PCM writing awards for a reason!

I don't know if they can be considered for this, but some team HQ's and rider stories in EPIC are also fantastic.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Well If Story Games can, in fact maybe even anyway, the Cyclo-Cross: A New Dawn Game Thread is amazing

I'm becoming slighly nostalgic about story writing again... Maybe I should start another story soon
Also, I agree with TMM's words. A list alone is not the most interesting thing. What I'd suggest is to indeed split team stories, one-rider stories and other stories (and story games?). I think these stories could provide a great source of inspiration. If people want to look at a certain type of story, categorization would definitely help out for those who don't know every story.
