PCMdaily Expansion Pack V2.0 Released!

The DB Team have been putting in the hours behind the scenes and have delivered on the long promised 2014 V2. Huge amounts of new equipment, jerseys, photos and sponsorkits make this possible the most complete graphical db we've ever done. With over 3000 riders it's an amazing piece of work.

Added to that the improved stats to better represent what the 2014 season was really like and some adjusmtents to improve gameplay it's a great DB. You can download it here or here. The only thing you need is the V1 DB already installed.

PCM.daily Awards: Voting Open

Nominations closed on Wednesday and SN did a great job getting the polls up nice and quickly. It's certainly my favorite time of year and every vote can matter.

There are 33 categories to vote in, including Member awards, Site awards, Management Game awards and Cycling awards, and all voting threads can be found in the Awards subforum. The winners will be revealed next weekend, on January 10th, so you have until then to vote.

New Stat Range?

matt17br and Jesleyh got seriously bored this week and found something rather interesting. Apparently, in single race mode, stats are not limited to 85 but in fact work right up to 99. They've done some nice testing of the effects and continue to do so. It's certainly the most interesting piece of PCM news for a long time. Just remember that stats over 86 will not function properly in Career mode. For full details and discussion simply check out the thread here.

Story Game Summary

Skipping the Man-Game this week, which rumbles onwards as usual with an end of July Rankings update, the best action has been EPIC. Over the Holiday period the game has dealt with renewals, progressions and declines, a draft and is now into the transfer period.

The draft was a chance for all teams to pick up a rider for free, with most targeting a youngster of talent. The PCT teams get a second rider later in the week. The transfer season has been long anticipated and is in full swing for roughly the next week and a half.

Thread of the Week

There have been a number of interesting and popular threads this week, but most of them were realted to the above topics. So my first Thread of the Week for 2015 is slightly preemptive. In the Year 2015 is this years thread to make predictions for the coming cycling season. Always popular and always great discussion!

We’re proud to present the V2 update to the PCM.Daily Expansion Pack. As promised, the brand new update that the Database Crew is offering you is full of improvements, especially if we talk about new graphics and updated stats.

If you're looking for a database with great graphics, you won’t be disappointed. With about 100 new wheels, accurately created by felix_29, or with the implementation of all the sponsorkits by Jacky Durand, the V2 of the Expansion Pack is what every graphics junky desires. But that’s not all yet! 5 new sponsors were added, about 10 jersey packs were updated to make them totally PCM 14 style, as well as 10 2014-ready National Teams and about 20 new cyclist photos were added in order to bring the number of riders without one to less than 50, and that’s impressive, considering that there are more than 3000 riders in our community DB!

Though if you're looking for updated stats, you won’t be disappointed either. Indeed, Alakagom and matt17br got deeply into them and updated all the World Tour and Professional Continental Tour stats one by one. Besides that, we've also changed the stat matrix in order to make hilly classics gameplay much more realistic.

Also, realism is the key word here at PCMdaily. Implementing all of clamel’s races’ classification files, lots of races of every division now have a correct and updated point system. Previously you might've had some unrealistic career race results, but those days are over now!

But that’s not all, of course! Several bugs were discovered thanks to a deep testing, and all of them were fixed, as were 3 races’ wrong UCI’s classification!

Man-Game Madness

Roturn concluded the Tour de France this week. Three weeks of action and surprises came to the end in Paris. I won't spoil the final result if you havn't seen it and just say it was a fight between the favorites that is well worth reading.

Meanwhile the PCT and CT teams are in action in the Post Danmark Rundt and at the Urkiola Igoera one-day event where, against expectations, Dario Cataldo of Magna-Ryanair came away victorius.

Thread of the Week

I was torn between two threads this week. First was the return of Writer's Block - The Monthly Story Writing Magazine thanks to Jakstar bringing us a special Chistmas edition. However it was Christmas so my Thread of the Week is Happy Christmas for obvious reasons.

In honor of Christmas fast approaching and taking more and more of peoples time this weeks new is going to short but packed. Hope you've all done your shopping!

PCM.Daily Banner Competition: Winner!

For the last week you've all been voting to decide on the new header banner. 92 votes were cast and a clear winner emerged. Before we announce the winner Valverde321's offering, which is the current 100k banner without the 100k part, finished in second place with 15 votes. The winner though took in 56 of 92 votes to completely dominate the competitoin!

OlegTinkov's 3rd option the clear winner. It won't be part of the site this weekend but is top of SN's list of things to do once he's got the time. Huge congratulations to Oleg for making such an incredible and popular banner, a well deserved victory and the site will be all the better for it! If you can't remember what it looks like pop into the thread.

Thread of the Week

I said i'd keep it brief. With nearly 250posts this week it's comfortably the busiest thread this week as well as being on of the most intriguing concepts on the site. Ian Butlers Cyclo-Cross: A New Dawn is my Thread of the Week, even if sign-ups are now closed. Still very much worth keeping an eye on,
