Dear all cyling fans,
today is a great day for us. We are glad that we can finally announce our project to you. Together we worked hard over the last months to build up our Professional Cycling Team. Big news came today when the UCI sent us the final E-Mail containing their licence for us. So we will ride the UCI calender in 2015 and hopefully for many more years.
My name is Andy Schleck, I will lead the mangement of this team. The work will shared between me, Thomas Löfkvist, Jens Voigt and Adrie van der Poel.
The main focus of our team will be on races in, sponsors and riders from the BeNeLux, Germany, Scandinavia and Czech Republic/Slovakia. Additionally we have an eye on the Baltic States and Switzerland.
The Leopard SA will be our main sponsor. Moreover we signed contracts with Evonik Industries, Skoda and spox.com. Tissot will also sponsor us. We can furthermore present BMC, Leightweight, Lazer and Bioracer as our outfitter.
Evonik will join Leopard as the second name sponsor. The team name for the first season will be Leopard-Evonik ProCycling.
This is our 2015 squad:
| Frank Schleck | Leader | | Lieuwe Westra | Leader | | Marcus Burghardt | Co-Leader | | Bob Jungels | Co-Leader | | Kristof Vandewalle | Co-Leader | | Rick Zabel | Talent Free-Role | | Mathieu van der Poel | Talent Free-Role | | Petr Vakoc | Talent Free-Role | | Ryan Mullen | Talent Free-Role | | Patrick Gretsch | Pro-Domestique | | Laurent Didier | Pro-Domestique | | Jelle Wallays | Pro-Domestique | | Lasse Hansen | Pro-Domestique | | Johann Tschopp | Pro-Domestique | | Julian Kern | Domestique | | Alex Kirsch | Domestique | | David van der Poel | Domestique | | Martin Velits | Domestique | | Sebastian Balck | Domestique | | Gatis Smukulis | Domestique | | Martijn Maaskant | Domestique |
As a Pro-Continental-Team we are allowed to apply for wildcards, which we will do of course. So we announced our conceptional calender for our season goals. We are looking for the main races in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany, additionally all the World Tour races we get invited to are of course part of our focus.
Looking at our first two months, we already got some great achievements. Our first stage victory brought us Petr Vakoc at the Etoile de Besseges. Lieuwe Westra got us our first GC victory in portugal. Finally he also got us a top three in our first major event, Omloop Het Nieuwesblad, as well as at Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne.
UCI Announcement
Today we decided that one last team will join the professional cycling calender. They managed at least to send all documents regarding to financial, logistic and sporting criteria. In a few days the team will be announed by their main founder and sporting chief.

The Interview - when all began
“Thoughts came to mind — ‘what am I going to do with my knee, my life and my cycling career?’ I wasn’t good at the time, I had to make a decision that cycling is finished for me. I will end my career at the end of this year.”
“I look back with a smile, I’m very proud of what I achieved in my career”
“It’d be nice to plan my retirement Jens Voigt did, but I can’t do that. I can’t ride anymore because my knee will not support me on the bike.”
“My goal is to stay in cycling, I love it too much to just give it up. I have ideas of what I’d like to do next year, but don’t ask yet. You will see me around, I won’t hide in my home, I want to still be around in this beautiful world.”
For me it´s a long time since I head this sad press-conference, the one I will never forget. My ultimate dream ended, but another chance followed. I had a great time with my family since then. Talking to friends, other cyclists or retired cyclists, even fans, I started to work on a puzzle. Time after time the pieces came together, fitting, as they show me a clear direction to go for. We worked on that as hard as you could imagine, for this moment. Now the time has come for me and my mates to present you the puzzle - our team - step by step, putting together the last few pieces...
Your task!
3 of 4 spots in the team management are already taken, but still one is available. Now I need your opinion about who could complete our management team. It should be someone with cycling experience, who is not too long out of high-level cycling. You will find your suggested names in a poll in the next post!

Today three names will be announced. The quotes are from the person, from which point of view the story plays mainly, the main founder of the team. I chose 3 names, the plan of the story is based on that. The task is to give names for someone YOU would like as a sporting chief in the story. This one would take seat 4. Whoever you will choose to take the fourth place has an influence on how the story goes on.
Hope it´s clearer now
Liking the idea of this story, Good Luck

The Management
Andy Schleck
The main founder and initiative. He had the dream of leading a team, not as rider but instead as manager. We all know him and his background well. The story will change between an objective narrator and the thoughts of Andy. You might guessed it as the quotes were part of the retirement announcement of Andy Schleck in 2014. It´s even better that you guys also want him in this story.
Thomas Löfkvist
Thomas came to the team as he has a great network in Europe. The former swedish champion rode for IAM Cycling lately before he finished his career last season. In his last season he already prepared for the directeur sportif at Tre-Berg Bianchi, now he changed his mind and chose to jump on Andys cycling project.
Jens Voigt
This man is fighting spirit in person. As many years Jens took part in professional cycling, as many years he fought for victories with his loveable attacks. With his 17 Tour participations he shares the record for that. He is someone very well known in Europe and the USA; many young riders will look up to him. Due to his flair a spirit will be injected by him to the team. Glad that you also wanted him
Your Task
The first poll is ready. Choose one of the four options and decide who should complete the management team. Please ONLY vote in the link below!
https://strawpoll.me/3332240
Options
Sean Yates (former track and road cyclist, manager of CSC, Discovery, Astana, Sky)
Paul Kimmage (ex-cyclist, author and journalist, great fighter against doping, especially at US Postal and the corruption of the UCI)
Felix Cardenas (Columbian cycling legend, sucessful at Tour&Vuelta, lead small teams at last)
Adrie van der Poel (winner of the Ronde and Tour stages, managing some well known talents) |

Management Completed
We would like to announce Adrie van der Poel as our last sporting chief. He will add lot of experiences in managing, a big network in cycling and his ability to associate with young talents.
Adrie comes from a racing family, his father was a professional cyclist as well as his sons. He was successful not only on road racing (Ronde van Vlaanderen, Tour stages, Clasica San Sebastian, Amstel Gold Race), but also on Cyclocross (World Champion). During the management of his sons he earned a lot of experiences in the management part in modern cycling.
Region focus
So now, while the questions in management are answered, we will focus on the regions we want to focus. Obviously we have a big eye on central/western Europe (Luxembourg, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium), where our managers are well known. We also got a big popularity in Scandinavia due to Thomas popularity.
Now the question appears which regions we should focus on else. This will influence our sponsor requests and contract offers for riders later in this story in a massive way.
New Task
Choose the regions we want to focus on further in the game. You can vote on more than one region.
https://strawpoll.me/3340660
If there is one region missing you really want comment here. We will focus on max. one of the big cycling countries (, , /, /), so that we keep our team a little familiar.
Feedback Corner
You guys are amazing, I am glad you are interested that much. The number of votes is amazing, keep that up so that we can grow this story together
