Welcome to the first ever MG appearance of the Himmerland Rundt in Denmark. It`s a pan flat course and so the C2 sprinter elite is here to challange for the crown.
Top favourites might be Guillen, Rowe and Serebriakov.
But while last two have decent support here and probably could get their sprint train, Guillen only has three teammates! While those have some quality with Cano in especially the quantity might lead to problems when chasing the breakaway and later positioning the leader.
Not far behind this top trio we have a good amount of very fast sprinters:
Forero
Vingerling
Farrar
Matthews
Peeters
All 5 have decent support and are capable to win this race. Some of those already have a stage win in 2014, others are still waiting but proved their worth in previous seasons.
The next list of sprinters also could surprise as they differences here are pretty small:
Fonseca
Westling
Richeze
Rasmussen
Opie
Gayek
First 2-3 probably the stronger here but Rasmussen in his home race could be a good bet as well on such a flat course.
That`s also the time for the special mention of Team Carlsberg, the only Danish team here. With Ostergaard they have a 2nd Danish leader, who might want to go for an attack or a good leadout?

It's our win goal as the Danish CT race, but honestly our chances of winning are slim. the team really needs to show up for it to work out.

I don't expect much here but it would be nice to see teruel sprinting. I can also imagine a top25 or Sth in this range for Yannick Stoltz

Yep it's time for some more fun facts.!
Lets start with age -
Evonik's Alexander Edmondson is the youngest rider here only 20 years old, Owain Doull for Eddie Stobart is the 2nd youngest and Carlos Henrique Cancellara rounds out our youngest riders podium for Alpina.
On the other side, my own Leonardo Duque is the oldest in the field at 34 years of age. Live Nation's Jussie Veikkanen comes in 2nd and I get a second on the stage with Yohann Gene in third.
Now on to stats -
The highest rider average here belongs to Carlsberg's Alex Rasmussen at 74.92. Second is Michael Schär of Vontobel (74.42) and then Aleksandr Serebriakov for Ameriabank (74).
On the other end the worst rider average here belongs to Rasim Reis of Team Live Nation at 61.42 average. Second to him is Robin Stenuit (65) for team TomTom then Owain Doull (65.67) of Eddie Stobart.
And then there is always the money-
Aleksandr Serebriakov is easily the highest paid at 300k by Ameriabank. Armindo Fonseca is the second best paid earning 215k from Vontobel, with Matt Rowe right behind had 210k on Team ASDA-Savers.
There are 70 riders (out of 102) that are earning the minimum 50k wage.
How about some nationalism-
Only one rider is a national champion here, and he is a dual champion:
, Olli Kulppi, of Team Live Nation.
34 different countries are represented in this race. Belgium is the best represented country with 9 riders here, while host Denmark has 8 along with Great Britain and Colombia. 15 nations including the USA only have 1 rider representing them.
Regionally Europe leads the way with 77 riders, South America is represented by 13, Oceania has 4, North America and Asia both have 3 riders present and Central America only has two, ONCE's Marco Guillén and my own Yohann Gene.
And I guess that's all!
EDIT: Startlist attached.

March got (almost) better every race. And with less than hundred riders at the starting line even Armindo Fonseca should be able to prevail. Team is required to ensure a sprint finish.
Thanks for the fun facts, Kent, is always a nice addition to the previews!

This is a win goal. Very tricky, I'd be amazed if we pull that off, even though we have a great leadout train(please PCM AI, give us a leadout train

well it would be good if Rowe manages to do better than what he has done so far this season, a top 10 would be a good place to start.

Kinda hoped for more in the end but when I send these kind of squads to races I can't really expect anything either. Anyway first time I'm not sure that it was a smart move joining the breakaway considering our very limited team here.

Nooooo!!!!
So close. The team played it perfectly. But Rasmussen just didn't want to get involved apparently. What a shame. Another goal failed, but what did I expect?

Another goal failed... Matthews a bit isolated, but decent performance anyway.

Brave attempt by Yannick Stoltz who was close to a surprising result just like I expected. Thats what i expect from him with his high fighter stat and his great FL stat.
Hansen did great to get a few points (?).
I liked Kent's Fun Facts since again. It seems as if my team always fields the youngest rider when we are starting. Sometimes it is Willwohl, sometimes Bauhaus and sometimes Edmondson. But it always is one of my riders

Helps when half your team hasn't hit puberty yet.

well, that wasn't good at all, poor performances in march has pretty much damaged my PPRD score, hope things will pick up soon :/

Somewhat ironic that one of the few roundabouts I use in my stages seals the teams fate.
Gratz to Live Nation and thanks again for another entertaining report, roturn!
