After a resilient 2025 campaign that saw us finish 17th in the team standings and successfully avoid relegation in our first season back in the PCT division, we're eager to build on that foundation and mount a serious challenge for promotion back to the Pro Tour in 2026. Zwift – Newton Foundation returns unchanged for the upcoming season, entering the year with greater stability and confidence than at any point since our back-to-back relegations in 2022 and 2023.
Leading the charge once again is American star Matteo Jorgenson, who has cemented himself as one of the sport's elite riders over the past two seasons. After winning the CT individual standings in 2024, Jorgenson finished second in the PCT individual standings last year while becoming the winningest rider in team history with 19 career victories, surpassing longtime record holder Justo Tenorio. Now firmly established as the face of the organization, he will spearhead the team's quest to return to cycling's highest level.
For veteran manager Mresuperstar, 2026 marks his 15th season in the Man-Game, and there is still this feeling of optimism as the long-term partnership between Zwift and the Newton Foundation continues to flourish.
Originally paired together in 2017, Mre and the Newton Foundation delivered a stunning promotion that year. Though the Foundation lacked the financial muscle to support a Pro Tour-level team at the time, they remained connected through various co-sponsorships — Desigual in 2019–20 and Zwift in 2021–22 — before fully reuniting in 2024 to begin the climb back up from the Continental Tour.
The Newton Foundation was established in honor of former cyclist Taylor Newton's father, whose life was cut short by a stroke. Today, it stands as a powerful voice for stroke awareness and a source of hope, support, and advocacy for survivors and their families. During his cycling career, Newton amassed the fifth-most race days (383) under Mre's management as a domestique between 2014–19, a testament to his work ethic and leadership despite never claiming a professional victory.
Mre has previously managed Zwift – Newton Foundation (2025–present), Newton Foundation p/b Zwift (2024), Zwift Pro Cycling (2021–23), Desigual (2018–20), Newton Foundation (2017), Movistar–US Postal (2015–16), and Team CSC–Orbea (2012–14).

Back again for another season in the PCT and, for once, a large overhaul isn't exactly needed with our youngsters starting to fill out the depth we desperately need to score more points and protect our leaders.
Before we get into the 18 riders who have re-signed, let's honor those that we have decided to release for various reasons.
Riders Released
The following three cyclists were let go before the start of the transfer season:
Bakhtiyar Kozhatayev: The now 34-year-old climber has entered his second decline and is beginning to contemplate life beyond professional cycling. We welcomed “Kozhat” back for a second stint with the program after his original run with the 2018 and 2019 Desigual squads. The cobbled climber had one last glimpse of glory in his encore showing, winning the opening prologue of the Tour of Vancouver for his first and only victory in team colors. Kozhat delivered a crucial 146-point campaign (120th overall), helping keep the team above the relegation line for another season.
Lawson Craddock: Another “one more year” veteran signing. Craddock first joined the program in 2015 as a promising young talent on loan before returning a decade later as a battle-tested 33-year-old. After scoring just 75 points in his first stint in 2015, Craddock aged like fine wine in 2025 with a 97-point season. While he likely still has enough gas in the tank for one more respectable campaign, we honored his request to explore free agency and secure one final payday before eventually hanging up the wheels.
Breinner Smaichel Camargo: The only stagiaire of the four who failed to secure a full-time contact from us for next season. After taking another look, we determined his growth trajectory wasn’t the right fit for our long-term vision. We also suspect morale may have taken a hit when the team unanimously decided his nickname would be “B.S.”

The sheer amount of work you do on these HQ's is a sight to behold, well done Mres. Though the fact that you only managed 1/5 goals despite 10 victories takes some doing, and makes me feel a little better about going 0/5
However, on the bits you clearly have us beaten: seeing Blackmore's wage compared to Uijtdebroeks confirms we have indeed messed up big-time
And lastly, I like the orange kit, a bit of a throwback but it'll be much easier to spot in the peleton this year.
I think you're in a very good spot to start lighting the PCT on fire this year with a maxed Jussaume joining Vernon for TTs and most likely some training for one of the big guns.

After hearing feedback that our availability list was "too boring" and not very interesting with less than a week before the start of the transfer season, Mre has decided to add another rider to the sell list in American Sean Quinn. The newly maxed climber would make for a solid GC guy in the CT or a great support rider in the PCT or PT with just a little bit of training.

One of the goals of Zwift - Newton Foundation has always been to build something sustainable through youth development. Today, we're excited to officially introduce the Z2Z Dev Team, a one-season collaboration with PT squad DK Žalgiris, managed by quadsas.
The name says it all: Z2Z — Zwift to Žalgiris.
Racing under a Lithuanian license with a United States secondary nationality, Z2Z will be one of seven development teams competing in the Continental Tour this season.
For this season, the objective of this project is simple in providing a competitive environment for talented young riders to continue their development. Whether riders earn opportunities with Zwift - Newton Foundation, DK Žalgiris, or elsewhere, the hope is that this team helps launch the next wave of cyclists up the ranks.
Of course, before any rider turns a pedal, the really important business had to be settled — the jersey. When quadsas first saw it, his initial response was, "I couldn't care less I can't lie lol." Seconds later, however, he admitted it "looks good," adding that he'd been using essentially the same jersey for five years and that it was "actually a really nice render." Considering that's about as enthusiastic as you're ever going to get from him about a new kit, we'll happily take it as a glowing endorsement.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we sign and reveal the roster and introduce the blessed riders who'll represent this unique collaboration throughout the 2026 season.
