4th is nice from Lavoine considering he was so far behind when trains got formed Did not expect Kobe to win, but is a great sign for rest of the season Good to be racing again

Dont really expect anything special from Kump on these pure flat stages, so 10th is fine although he was behind and got blocked in the finale. Just hope he will deliver when the terraign gets tougher
What a start for Kobe and Bank Ireland's season!

What's up with Kobe suddenly being a great rider? Great to see Würtz in the break.

Hmmm, a rider abandons in our first day of the season! Hmmm, omens.

Very in-depth report Roturn, for a sprint stage! Wow! Thanks for the screen with Quintero, on the one-hand a shame we lose someone, but then we have the TV-time!! Decent enough effort in the sprint, I suppose that will be our tactic for the race 'fighting for crumbs'. |

Quality report or this early season kick-off of the stage racing calendar. Proved a dynmic sprint finish. Flores unlucky to be missing Quintero after crashing as I guess he would be designated as an important lead-out for Castenada in the sprint train (nice rider that I thought might still be looking for a team when I rejoined late in the day, but happy he had already found a home with a fellow SA outfit).
Kobe's already doubled last year's ranking points tally - the luck of the Irish it would appear!
Closer to home for WCC, direct CT opposition getting of to a nice start with riders in the break, picking up time bonuses and positions in the various jersey competitions. Potential for a good PPRD return from this visit to C1 could be on the cards if Wilunga Hill proves not to be too selective.

Not a bad start, Haussler was poorly positioned and still reached the 6th place, The next stage is more to his style, and I hope it can get an even better classification

Congrats to Dippo. I'm a little bummed and concerned that Reinhardt did not even take part in the sprint, its going to be a long season if he keeps that up...

Looking good so far. As long as Kump and Reimer don't gain seconds on the flat and Ulissi doesn't gain on stages such as this, the race is set up nicely for Gautier.
How much impact does ACC have in PCM15 by the way? |

Well at least Vantomme gave it a go, was hoping somebody from our team would but Mørkøv probably had a better chance, 12th is a good enough result though.
Hopefully stage 3 means Palini has a go at the top ten, should be a good indicator for his season at least.
Thanks for the great report Roturn!

Surprised Kump managed to get 2nd considering how bad that leadout went, first being too far back compared to spotify and then losing Ventoso's wheel, but strong finish!
Congratz to spotify, will be tough for kump to steal the leaders jersey from Reimer now!
Barbin in a great spot, looking like a real podium candidate now

Great to see the veteran picks the right wheel. Can't blame him to take his chances, even though staying in Reimers slipstream would've made him 2nd.
With Di Maggio, Thalmann and Weiss seemingly in good shape too, we're in a lot more pleasant anticipation about the days to come.
Gratz to Spotify/Reimer: Strong train! Strong finish!

Not that surprised about Lavoine really, but I'm a little disappointed by PCM not letting Matysiak have a go in the end. On the bright side Froome looks good with a 12th place and will hopefully not lose time tomorrow
Tomorrow's stage ends on a steep, but short climb. So only expect Froome to stay st. with the other punchers.
