Oliveira and Kung do not belong on this team, Žalgiris stans have been sending millions (and millions) of letters begging them to leave and make life better for themselves

Not as appealing availability list as last year. Although that clearly had zero effect on me
Maybe our paths end up crossing this time around.

If one day Kung should feel homesick, we'll happily jump in. But that doesn't seem to be the case right now. Not sure we'll talk this time, but we'll see. Hopefully not for another bidding war as last year (Masnada)

@redordead - Unfortunately I don't have quite as many riders as I did last year which doesn't help, but I'll be glad to at least try and work something out with you again!
@Fabianski - I still feel bad about getting you to overpay for Masnada so much! I'm pretty sure we'll talk actually
@WJ - Should you feel the need to strengthen your hilly line-up you already know who to hit up

Doesn't help me in my attempt to Generali-ise my team when the only rider I had on my shortlist listed as even potentially for sale is Sterbini |

Well, I guess that's part of the game - even more as a newbie and with mainly role-play in mind
Wondering what kind of conversation we'll have then

Man, I wish I had the wage cap space to bring Kung home, alas it will have to wait at least another year, just got to hope he is available when I can go for him.

Wage cap space doesn't help a lot if said rider is marked as unavailable
But I can definitely understand your desire to bring him back to Switzerland

I mean, he was the first rider I signed in my debut season, I want that reunion at some point before he retires, even if it is just for his final season, but I'd prefer it whilst he would be a leader for us. Hopefully that unavailable reads different when I have more cap space next year.

The Post-Transfers Announcement
Whew! What was supposed to be a quiet-ish transfer season ended up being the busiest period I've experienced over my 6 years in the game. Despite this, I'm very satisfied about how our transfer window turned out. The picture above displays our final, post-transfers roster. 22 riders will ride for Generali this year; only 9 of them also did so last year, and even more impressively, only 2 were signed to Generali when we took the PCT crown in 2018. I'll quickly go over my 13 (!!!) new signings in this announcement post.
Simon Spilak | Isostar - LimeBike | 4.100 | 34 | 79,7 | € 780.000 |
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 70 | 83 | 80 | 75 | 77 | 78 | 75 | 68 | 65 | 71 | 69 | 66 | 75 |
Spilak was supposed to ride for Generali in 2019 already until a deal fell through, but has made his way to our team 1 year late thanks to an extremely complicated deal that involved 4 teams. He'll replace Gesink as our stage race leader, and will have the not-so-easy task of winning Generali's first grand tour.
Rohan Dennis | Bennelong - Mitchelton | 4.100 | 30 | 76,83 | € 555.000 |
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 72 | 74 | 75 | 78 | 73 | 75 | 67 | 53 | 65 | 68 | 69 | 56 | 81 |
A rider type we perhaps have too many of, Rohan Dennis was signed in order to be our co-leader in hilly stage races for time trialists, so that we can put yet one more rider in the top 10s of those races.
Andrew Talansky | Valio - Viking Genetics | 4.100 | 32 | 76,81 | € 250.000 |
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 71 | 79 | 77 | 72 | 75 | 76 | 77 | 56 | 59 | 69 | 63 | 66 | 72 |
Spilak's main lieutenant for this year will be experienced, reliable stage racer Andrew Talansky. The American will also have the chance to lead a few races by himself.
Tobias Ludvigsson | Volvo acc. by Spotify | 4.100 | 29 | 75 | € 98.000 |
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 68 | 76 | 72 | 76 | 75 | 72 | 73 | 56 | 62 | 71 | 65 | 72 | 75 |
A late signing during these transfers and also a quite expensive one, but a rider we really like and hope can perform really well for us in different types of races.
Fausto Masnada | Centovalli - Fiat | 4.4 | 27 | 74,55 | € 180.000 |
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 70 | 75 | 75 | 71 | 74 | 73 | 71 | 60 | 63 | 72 | 69 | 71 | 68 |
Coming in as a loanee from Centovalli, Masnada will ride as a domestique in mountainous stage races. We've tried to sign him both last year and this one, but eventually agreed to give him the needed PT experience to take the next step to greatness.
Benjamin Dyball | Bennelong - Mitchelton | 4.100 | 31 | 74,26 | € 65.000 |
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 71 | 76 | 73 | 75 | 75 | 71 | 72 | 54 | 61 | 72 | 69 | 64 | 73 |
Dyball follows Dennis to Generali as our second ever Australian signing. He will also be an extremely valuable domestique in several stage races.
Joao Rodrigues | Berg Cycles | 4.11 | 26 | 74,16 | € 60.000 |
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 65 | 76 | 72 | 72 | 72 | 74 | 75 | 55 | 61 | 72 | 70 | 68 | 72 |
Loaned in from Berg, Rodrigues will be a massive help for our leaders in our quest to win a GT.
Ivo Oliveira | Duolingo | 4.14 | 24 | 74,13 | € 70.000 |
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 69 | 68 | 71 | 77 | 74 | 71 | 65 | 61 | 70 | 72 | 68 | 68 | 77 |
A very important of the deal that brought us Spilak, Ivo Oliveira will also be a fundamental cornerstone of our TTT setup for years to come.
Christophe Laporte | Carrefour - ESPN | 4.100 | 28 | 73,98 | € 105.000 |
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 73 | 62 | 73 | 62 | 72 | 74 | 74 | 75 | 72 | 73 | 67 | 64 | 65 |
The GOAT himself finally signs for Generali after a few details changed his destination last year. Will be one of Theuns' best helpers in the northern classics.
Jose Fernandes | Berg Cycles | 4.48 | 25 | 73,89 | € 50.000 |
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 71 | 73 | 69 | 75 | 77 | 76 | 74 | 53 | 62 | 67 | 60 | 68 | 75 |
Follows Rodrigues from Berg as our 3rd loanee of the year. Will gain a massive amount of time trialing experience riding for Generali.
Aime De Gendt | Free Agent | 4.0 | 26 | 73,21 | € 80.000 |
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 75 | 62 | 72 | 68 | 76 | 74 | 68 | 73 | 65 | 69 | 76 | 66 | 70 |
Our 4th and final loan-in is Aime De Gendt, coming in from Lithuania's finest Zalgiris. Will also be a valuable domestique during cobbled classics.
Geoffrey Bouchard | Free Agent | 4.0 | 28 | 72,68 | € 90.000 |
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 70 | 75 | 72 | 67 | 70 | 71 | 75 | 55 | 62 | 68 | 76 | 76 | 66 |
Bouchard will ride his first ever season as a professional for Generali. He's a solid climber that will certainly progress over the course of the season.
Olivier Lecourt De Billot | T-Mobile | 4.69 | 27 | 72,01 | € 70.000 |
FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 73 | 58 | 68 | 64 | 73 | 72 | 64 | 73 | 61 | 74 | 79 | 64 | 68 |
The Mauritian classics specialist is Generali's first African signing, and will provide great support for Theuns & Gaday in cobbled races.

Thats a fantastically deep stage race core that will probably be underrated in every preview again. Even the loanees are very strong. And despite his age, Spilak will still be great and i hope he doesnt cross paths with a certain someone in my team too often.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Really happy to see Masnada in your team - this season
Will definitely follow what he's able to do at this level, and then rock CT with him starting from next season
