DB update: RealName Package turns into Plus Package!
A great update for the renowned RealName package for PCM08, built by Dankan, has been made public today. Includes everything you need in order to get the best possible experience, e.g. the correct names for everything, the correct jerseys and other graphic files, etc. plus the new improvements from this version: up to 200 real faces for the most famous riders, renewed stats according to the results from the Tour de France, correct champions and rosters, optimal graphic additions and, what's most important, around 1800 free agents within the rider-DB, which allow you to scout for the best talents and stars out of the original squads. A must-try!
Yes, on this very interesting Tour de France-day, Focus decided to release the official demo for Pro Cycling Manager 2008. You're given the possibility to try out both a mountain stage and a keirin (track) race. In the road race, you're in charge of Euskaltel on the 16th (today's!) stage of Tour de France. You haven't won any stages yet, so the pressure is definitely on you. And as mentioned, if you're unsuccesful, you can always go play some keirin. There's also a tutorial mode, so you can be introduced to the game if you haven't played it - it might be worth it ;) It's available from PCM.daily's download section - right here.
PCM.daily's monthly magazine, PCM Monthly, made by Smoothie and the rest of the PCM Monthly team, has released Issue #2! This months issue is a PCM/Tour Special with indepth reviews of Track Cycling and the new Scouting system included. There is also a preview to the Tour de France including the teams and the important stages that are yet to come. A round up of the recent PCMdaily Awards and a review of the recent National Championships also join the regular features of Columns, Rider Diaries and this Month's Poll.
After several days of downtime PCM.daily is now back. And with back, I do mean "for good". It's been some rather hard days for me, especially since I have had to learn a lot of new things to get the new server working properly. Hopefully, I won't need to do more changes with that for a loooong while. There are still some minor problems at the site. As you may have noticed, the two photo panels are gone. This is due to a problem which I haven't managed to fix just yet - but I'm working on it, and they will return. Also, the downloads are temporarily down, but will be back up tomorrow. The Forum Threads Panel was one of the reasons why the site went down yesterday, and we will need to optimize it. Until that's been done, I hope you can live with the side panel --> ;)
I'd like to thank a few people for their work during these days of downtime: - Sunbao, the guy who led me to the new host - Kenny, who helped me setting up the dedicated server. He has also been helping me a lot with the bug tracking and optimising, and in general, he has been very, very supportive. You should all go visit his website, Cyclingsage. - Issoisso, simply because he was entertaining at times and tried to be helpful ;)
Other than that, welcome back! If you experience any problems, feel free to post them in the forum.
