Yet another patch (1.0.2.3)
Downloads

Believe it or not, Cyanide just released a third patch, 1.0.2.3, which fixes something about the ladder DB for multiplayer mode.
If you've already installed 1.0.2.2, you need to download this. If you didn't get to install the new patch, download the full 1.0.2.3 patch here.

Update: Both files are now placed at PCM.daily's server.

Patch 1.0.2.2 released!
Downloads

Although it's only a (rather) short while ago that Cyanide released the very first patch, they have now decided to release the 2nd patch, 1.0.2.2. It fixes some of the problems which were created with first patch, e.g. the crash after each online race, and other things. Click "Read More" for the full fix list

Weekly News #59
Weekly News

It's been almost 2 months since the last Weekly News, and that's mainly due to two reasons: 1. At that time, all the news were 'too important' to be a part of the Weekly News section, and 2. Due to all the problems the site experienced shortly after the release of Pro Cycling Manager 2008. This 59th edition will hopefully resemble the return of the Weekly News - not on monthly basis, but on weekly basis as it's supposed to be. Enjoy.

Still a few site problems
Although the site is now fast, we are still experiencing a few problems here and there. First of all, there's no reason to submit screenshots or Tour de France-photos to our screenshot sections. It doesn't work properly for the time being, but I'm working on fixing it. Another problem is that there's some sort of error message in the votes part of the download section -- however, the votes are still counted, so you can keep on voting as much as you like ;)
Speaking of the site and the technical part of it, the site will be upgraded to a 25/25 mbit connection on the 1st of August, making it even faster than it already is. I don't think that this will result in any down-time.

Downloads round-up
As you may have noticed, we have been busy adding a lot of files to the download section of this site. I'm not going to go into detail with it, but I will try to bring a short round-up. First of all, several downloads have been made available. Some of them have been ported from 1.0.0.0, some are released after the release of patch 1.0.1.4. The latest one of them is Eeyor's Reality DB which has new and more equipment as one of its main features. There's also the A.S.O. DB, Evans89 Pack, the Dutch Divinity Project and Heras61's DB Pack. Also, the PCM Scandinavia project has been patched, so it now works with patch 1.0.1.4. They are all available from the Current Databases-section along with our own project, the Plus Package.

Other than that, Jan_Ullrich11 is making himself quite popular here at PCM.daily with his backgrounds. We have currently added backgrounds of Contador, Cavendish, Valverde, Kohl, 2 x Schleck and one of Kreuziger to our Backgrounds section, and you can find even more in this thread on the forum.
Speaking of graphical stuff, you really should pay our Other graphical elements-section a visit. For those who care about graphics, it's got lots of interesting stuff, including a velodrome pack, Tour de France motos, shirt packs and more. You can also find downloads which make your game look worse, but on the other hand also optimizes the performance, making the game able to run on worse computers.

Enjoy! :)

One server down
Unfortunately, the two servers which originally hosted the files here at PCM.daily when the site opened back in November 2006, have been taken down, probably due to inactivity. A few PCM06 files were still hosted on these, simply because they had never been moved to the "new" download server, and therefore some PCM06 downloads are now down. When a link is reporten broken, I try to find the file and reupload it, but in some cases, it's not possible. In any case, I advice people to search for the download on this site too.

Online gaming - PCM.daily vs. PCMBenelux
PCM.daily is just one of very many communities in the PCM-world. Pretty much every country has its own website, but PCM.daily is something special as it tries to "unite" members from different countries at one place. And since we gather the best of the best, we also believe that we are the best at online gaming, in particular track racing. We have now been challenged by the Dutch/Belgian community, PCMBenelux, since they for some reason believe that they are better than us (haha! :P). If you want to prove them wrong, feel free to apply in the qualification thread right here.

Dankan leaves for a while - PCM Fusion DB continues
Unfortunately, Dankan, leader of the PCM Fusion DB project, will have to leave the community for a while - you can read more about it in this thread. This is of course sad, especially since he recently won the "Most helpful member 07/08"-award here at PCM.daily. It won't have any effect on the PCM.daily/PCM-Spain-project, PCM Fusion DB, though. This will now be led by Roger, and the project will continue - so no worries just yet ;) Everything is progessing as planned.

DB update: RealName Package turns into Plus Package!
Downloads

A great update for the renowned RealName package for PCM08, built by Dankan, has been made public today. Includes everything you need in order to get the best possible experience, e.g. the correct names for everything, the correct jerseys and other graphic files, etc. plus the new improvements from this version: up to 200 real faces for the most famous riders, renewed stats according to the results from the Tour de France, correct champions and rosters, optimal graphic additions and, what's most important, around 1800 free agents within the rider-DB, which allow you to scout for the best talents and stars out of the original squads. A must-try!

Demo released!
Downloads

Yes, on this very interesting Tour de France-day, Focus decided to release the official demo for Pro Cycling Manager 2008. You're given the possibility to try out both a mountain stage and a keirin (track) race. In the road race, you're in charge of Euskaltel on the 16th (today's!) stage of Tour de France. You haven't won any stages yet, so the pressure is definitely on you. And as mentioned, if you're unsuccesful, you can always go play some keirin. There's also a tutorial mode, so you can be introduced to the game if you haven't played it - it might be worth it ;) It's available from PCM.daily's download section - right here.
