I'm sorry to say, but PCM.daily's and PCM-Spain's database project, the PCM Fusion DB, has been stopped for now. We're of course very sorry to announce this, but we haven't been able to find other solutions. It's a decision which we have thought about for a while, and it's directly linked to the fact that we simply haven't received the help we were hoping to receive. You can read more about the reasons for the decision in this thread, made by project leader Roger.
It's a huge disappointment, not only to me, but to everyone. However, with that said, there's no reason to completely rule out a database from PCM.daily. We'll see in the future what's possible.
A while ago, dj-cycloteck announced that he's doing a 1998-2008 historical DB project. It has now reached a stage where he could use some feedback to improve the database, and to do this, he has decided to release an exclusive to PCM.daily public beta version of the DB. He hopes that this will make people more interested, and that you will now help him with coming up with some feedback. Therefore, this is primarily released to help the project advance - not to play for fun.
As you all know, the Olympics are now finished. However, we still haven't updated our Fantasy Olympics - until now. The mountain bike event ended with Julien Absalon taking the win ahead of his team mate Jean Peraud and the Swiss guy Nino Schurter. And with this result, we can now once and for all say that Addy291 and his team "Don't Mention The War" has secured the overall win as he scored 70 points. In fact, the top 3 didn't change at all even though 2nd placed "Edinburgh Road Club" didn't score any points at all in the MTB event.
Winner of the round was stuntlucas ("Fast Paralytics") who scored 450 points. That also meant that he jumped from 3rd last to a respectable 32nd place. However, the high-jumper of the round was Kanzo who jumped from 33rd to 22nd due to a 225 point scoring in this last round.
I'd like to thank everyone for participating and SportingNonsense for organizing this. It's a shame that he isn't here to round it off. Also, congratulations to Addy291, jamsque and Schleck93 - a top 3 in an event with 42 participants shows great cycling knowledge. While Chris Hoy showcase his dominance in the Sprint, beating Jason Kenny into 2nd and Mickael Bourgain into 3rd, there was a surprise in the Madison as the Argentinian duo of Perez and Curuchet (Combined age of 76) won ahead of Spain and Russia.
The Argentinians victory was good news for two teams who had selected Walter Perez (At a cost of 2 points): 'LDF - Velingnews.com' and 'Don't Mention The War!'. 'Don't Mention The War!' led going into the day and with Hoy, Kenny, Perez and Wiggins all scoring, Addy291's team has stormed ahead of everyone else making what is almost certainly an unassailable lead of 990 over 'Edinburgh Road Club' who move up 1 spot to 2nd.
Today's biggest movers were 'IFK Göteborg' who rose 13 places to 25th while there is just one change in the top ten, with 'Bjeldbak' replacing the 'ACR Team'. Here is the top 10:
Today the site went down once again. Again it was due to a minor crash in a table in the site's MySQL database and should be fixed it.
The error is now fixed, and the site should be working as normal. If you see or experience some crashes in the future please contact an admin by e-mail, messenger or whatever you like. I'm currently doing a small piece of code, which should make it quite easy for admins to fix this kind of error in the future.
