Pro Cycling Manager 2014: the waiting is over!

We've been waiting for the release of the new Pro Cycling Manager for weeks now, some more than others. PCM 14 hit the stores the 19th of June, with a mixed reception from the community. The changes in career and the new user interface are welcomed as a positive change. However, the game is occasionally unstable and there are still some major bugs, which make playing career mode practically impossible.

For those who don't have the game yet, we'd appreciate it if you'd buy the game through the PCM.Daily link. Instead of Focus getting all your money, PCM.Daily gets a piece of it, allowing us to keep the site up and running.

Please note: When clicking the banner, the site will automatically try to detect your area/zone. If you decide to change this manually, the link will change, and you will no longer support PCM.daily when buying.

However, you can use these links instead if you wish to buy from a certain area and still support PCM.daily:

PCM 14 Variant Pack

emmea90 received old zcts files from Cyanide and constructed a Variant Pack for PCM 14 featuring all WT races profiles from 2010 until 2013. A stage pack like this will improve your gaming pleasure in more ways than one.

Realname Databases

Besides the stage Variant Pack, we also recommend that you download a realname database, unless you enjoy the creativity of Vroome and Bouman. So far, the most detailed realname database is probably the Cycling Manager Italia Realname 1.0, featuring real names, real race names, sponsor names, edited stats, the real Giro d'Italia rules and an edited local file, allowing you to compete in the UCI instead of the Cyanide Rankings.

Thread of the Week

Kentaurus, well known for his enjoyable live streams and stories, has put himself to great use for the rest of the community. In a series of tests, Kentaurus is trying to determine the effects of different stats in the new Cycling Manager game. Read all about his findings here! This is a truly deserved thread of the week.

ManGame: slow days

Meanwhile, the ManGame is moving at a relatively slow pace. However, there is some action available for those who can't do without. At the Continental level, E3 Prijs - Harelbeke was won by Bernard Eisel in a group sprint.

It's also waiting for the Queen's Stage of the stage race Corsica International. After a stage for the sprinters and a time trial, everything is still wide open for the General Classification. The summit finish on Col de l'Ospedale will decide everything.

Finally, Marcel Wyss managed to win the Tour d'Rwanda by conquering stage 4 in the leader's jersey. A deserved victory for the Swiss rider from Team Vontobel.

PCM.daily Championship Results
News

Over the past couple of weeks, the first PCM.daily Championships took place over 5 track disciplines, as well as the road, on PCM 2013. It proved to be very competitive, with a different winner for each event: baseballlover312, kimiopn, ryant, sammyt93, stevesmink and SportingNonsense all winning one.

Consistency was the key for the overall standings, with SportingNonsense taking the top spot with his best results being 1st in the Points Race, 2nd on the Road and 3rd in the Elimination Race. The full overall Top 5 was:

1 SportingNonsense 740
2 sammyt93 532
3 kimiopn 500
4 baseballlover312 450
5 admirschleck 385

As a site admin though, I am not eligible for the championship prize. So congratulations to sammyt93, the winner of the Road event, who has received a free copy of Pro Cycling Manager 2014.

Keep an eye out in the PCM14: Online forum for online games following the new release, such as the PCM.daily Online League.

Story Spotlight: Daniel Martin - Irish Pride
Story News

Once upon a time, a long long time ago PCM.Daily was treated with a legendary story by matt493 that followed the career of Irishman Daniel Martin. Following in his footsteps of that past journey that started 5 years ago, baseballlover312 has brought Irish Pride to the PCM13 story forum and is looking to lead Daniel Martin to even greater heights.

The only way to do that is to achieve results and 27-year old climber has been tearing it up. Great early season form has helped Martin tackle his major season objectives with relatively easy and style. All of which were just setting him for the biggest moment of his career so far: the 2013 Giro d’Italia.

Daniel Martin - Irish Pride by baseballlover312 becomes our 2nd full featured story spotlight for two reasons. First, the reports are excellent with an abundance of key details while at the same time avoiding the filler material. In other words, it gets straight to the point. Second, the results Martin has achieved so far have been admirable in and of itself. We invite you to click Read More to view the complete synopsis.

ManGame: action on all kinds of terrain

The Giro del Trentino came to an end, in a thrilling final stage. Janez Brajkovic took the stage and the overall classification with an impressive late move.

Meanwhile Ramon Sinkeldam has successfully finished a 20 km solo in Gent - Wevelgem, taking the victory before Luke Rowe and Tom Boonen. Sinkeldam had the legs of his life, but no doubt profited from hesitation behind him. All that aside, it was a great day for him and Project 1t4i.
