Story Spotlight: Team Novo Nordisk - Achieving the Dream
Story News

The October 2013 Story of the Month winner gets back into the limelight this week because it’s steadily approaching the 150 pages milestone. Team Novo Nordisk - Achieving the Dream (formerly Team Type 1) by sutty68 is on the verge of joining a legendary list stories to reach that level: Double Feature, Petronas-Monster Energy, and Nordic Cycling.

While making history is always nice, the Story Spotlight is used to help members catch up on stories they don’t have the time to read or have completely missed. I’ll admit, it’s been extremely hard to highlight everything in a story this big in just a week’s time. But, hopefully we will give you enough information to make you want to catch-up on the story for yourself.

Contrary to the title, Novo Nordisk is actually intended to be one-rider story. Gary Sutton, the Welsh John Gadret, is the “main character” but often gets looked over at times with the team’s large racing schedule. He is very easy to lose track of with all the detailed team race reports which involve the cleaver kilometer timeline system. To find out more, checkout the complete synopsis by clicking Read More.

A day late and a dollar short. But with head writer Ian Butler off on a mini-vacation and the rest of the admin team running low on free time at the moment, a day late is surely better than nothing. I'll try my best to pick up the peices for this week's edition.

June Story of the Month Results

After a few technical difficulties implimenting the new poll system for voting, I can now announce that Trek Factory Racing takes the honor of being named June Story of the Month with 15 votes over aCross the Road with 8. Congrats to admirschleck on his first Story of the Month victory.

While in the New Story of the Month competition history has also been made. We have our first tie! With 8 votes each, Il Bimbo d'bronzo by Re Leone and The Two of Us by Ian Butler and I are crowned co-winners. It can't hurt to mention that In The Pursuit of Glory wasn't far behind either with 6 votes.

PCM14 Files Everywhere

Pro Cycling Manager 2014 is nearly a month old and the community has been hard at work trying to make the game the best it can be. While our DB team had to relay the sad news that a PCM.Daily Realname DB is a no-go, there are still plenty of great downloads available to get the fullest experience possible out of PCM14.

Looking for some of these add-ons? Keep checking out the download section as Rin and SportingNonsense are doing the bulk of the work trying to keep up with all the new files being released almost daily now. Also for a more detailed approached you can always go directly to the PCM14 graphicsdatabase, and stage subforums on the site to find projects to support and content to download.

Thread of the Week

Since the Tour de France stage threads won last week I have decided to pick out the World Cup thread once again as there is a new champion in the world of football (or soccer as I call it).

The thread skyrocketed to 124 pages over the past month as fandom and passion for the game was on full display, or overwhelming nationalistic support for member's home country depending on which way you look at it. Today sadness sets in as we realize we have to wait another 4 years for it to all happen again.

Story Spotlight: aCross the road
Story News

The life of Raphael Visconti takes center stage in aCross the road by Shonak. The promising cyclo-cross rider who also takes to the road race circuit brings everything you could possibly want in a one-rider story. This marks the first time a (New) Story of the Month winner has been spotlighted.

Normally we look for stories in order to draw more attention/readers to them, but for this week that approach isn’t really needed. Since aCross the road hit the forum back in February it has been a smashing hit. So, instead this spotlight services two purposes.

First, to showcases one of the best stories PCM.Daily has to offer to all the new members stopping by during the Tour de France. Second, a little extra inspiration to keep the story going. It has hit a little stall pattern after completing the 3rd season, so hopefully this can spark Shonak to continue Raphael Visconti’s journey. To view the complete synopsis click Read More.

Patch 1.2.0.0

Probably the most interesting event of the week for us PCM.Daily users was the release of patch 1.2.0.0. It fixes some of the biggest bugs in the game and it makes the career mode playable. There is no news about a third patch so far, but we expect they're working hard on it, seeing how there are still many things left to address, such as the sprinting bug.

Tour de France 2014

The Tour de France has begun. That time of year when everyone at PCM.Daily goes completely crazy. While we're all hoping for a beautiful race, participate in the discussions - a new thread is made for each stage - and place your bets! There ain't nothing like Le Tour!

Big Brother Season 1

Big Brother - an initiative by jseadog1 - Season 1 has also reached an end. The verdict was a clear and deserved victory from Brewers90, who received 7 of the 10 final votes. Congratulations to the winner, the other finalists, all the participants and especially jseadog1 for bringing his flawless version of Big Brother to the site!

Thread of the Week

The Thread of the Week goes to Le Tour de France 2014 Grand Depart. Like I said, it's Tour madness, and that reflects in the figures. The thread for the Grand Depart reached 13 pages and more than 6000 views only 2 days after it was opened.

ManGame: Reporters Asked

While roturn is reporting on the Vuelta al Pais Vasco, there is no way around it: the ManGame is running a bit slow this month. We have a strong team of reporters and we're sure the pace will pick up again soon. However, we always appreciate new, good, enthusiastic reporters so if you feel the urge to be on the reporter team, now is the perfect time to step up! If you're interested or have any questions, send a PM to SportingNonsense!
