a transistion stage before we go climbing again tomorrow. surely the sprinters don't want to miss out, there are only two potential sprint finishes left after this today's stage.
however, race director Thierry Gouvenou has set the stage in such a fashion that the infamous Mistral winds could create echolons
also for those who love patterns, Froome abandon on stage 5, Contador on stage 10, perhaps another favorite on stage 15

Latest forecast suggests there may be some crosswind fun with gusts potentially hitting 70kph. If the winds don't materialise I'd go for Kittel re-emerging but if the wind blows anything could happen...

This stage and echelons is literally Sagan's last chance to win a stage. |

So please let there be echelons, with Valverde and all the Frenchies missing the first echelon (and Mollema and Ten Dam in it, especially when the echelons gets created the moment all the others puncture and then Belkin start riding, so that discussion can start all over again)...

That is a gloriously hideous weather forecast being shown by the Tour de France website. Rain and thunderstorms with 20-30 kilometre per hour wind gusts ramping up to 40 km\h as we progress further through the stage and peaking out at 50-70 km\h (Southerly) as we hit the "danger zone".
Edit #1: Weather trying to rain on our echelon dreams at the moment, but there is time...

Martin Elmiger of IAM Cycling and Jack Bauer of Garmin Sharp formed today's breakaway of the day. 48 kilometres ridden and their gap is about eight minutes currently, with Ji Cheng of Giant Shimano and Lars Bak of Lotto Belisol casually chasing behind for the peloton.

The weather has finally come to say "Hi" at Nimes, could get interesting with all the roundabouts, let alone the wind.

Elmiger is riding quite a nice Tour with multiple BOTDs IIRC, really shows off his swiss NC jersey. Hoping he might get lucky today.

That's your first and final warning lads! Richie Porte was having another shocker until he managed to get back on.

LOL Porte
I have absolute no clue why anyone talk about him as a GC winner.
And the "disease" is just a bad excuse.
Well, at least he has some help in the motorcycle, nice to have friends like that. |

That's a nice long thin line you got there, be a shame if something were to come along and break it.

The French love for roundabouts could make this really nasty.
