The C2 race as voted for by you the managers! The ACA CycleVanadzor makes it's first ever appearance in the Man-Game and it will leave it's mark on the riders. First off it's a long day at 215km but then there is the saw-tooth profile.
There is not a flat kilometer in there as the riders will climb over 5500m in total today. Not just that but the slopes are steep averaging over 7% on most climbs and peaking at 15% in places. And whilst the finish might look flat the final 300m are a short burst back up hill at 10%!
A result of this means the favorites might not be the pure Punchers you'd expect for a hilly classic.
Mendes comes in as favorite though. With his 78hl he is a step above most other specialists at this level and he brings along good support as well.
PCT rider Lejman is possibly the best challenger in raw ability. His 77hl makes him a threat but he lacks real team support.
Kolobnev will look to challenge again. He brings a solid 76hl and excellent support from his team, especially Fonte. In fact the pundits pick him as #1 for this race.
Passalacqua is hard to predict. He could put his skills to excellent use but he's very much a specialist. At least his support team is strong and could ease the pressure.
Haas is the final major favorite. He can match others on the climbs and is overall a stronger rider than most. His team can also back him up to make him a real strong contender.
There's a host of other favorites too like Wyss, Fahnert, Bole and Geschke. There are also a couple of strong all-round teams like lead by Moinard, and lead by Godoy. It's a stacked startlist that will hopefully make for an exciting and agressive race.
*Note: Still having issues with wheels. Race will come tomorrow*

A race to lose for Mendes if he continues the form from Pologne.
Normally he should be the strongest but on that profile it`s also about the team mates and if they can catch the breakaway in time.
And a weird name this is. I first though, someone is spamming the MG section. |

ACA = Armenian Cycling Association
Vanadzor = Location of race
Cycle = Makes it more cycle-y

Best spam bot message ever?!
Geschke for the win, i guess. Somehow seeing a bigger group battling for the victory.

Gimme an M! Gimme an E! Gimme an N! Gimme a D! Gimme an E! Gimme an S! Mendes! Mendes!
Hopefully some cheerleading will do him good, hoping for a major change in performance from Pologne. Not necesseraly expecting the win - he's been better in stage races than.in classics so far.

Really spammy name.
Good luck to all, this is maybe too hard for Geschke and Bole?

Ah, the only race in the root country of my team: Armenia. Unfortunately I fear my team is too weak in the hills to contend and too strong to join the break. My guess is an anonymous 17th.

Need a good result here now after Pologne. Haas should be able to get a top 5 here.

Hoping for a Top 10, if not better, here in Armenia. Moinard should do quite well on this terrain with a rather late attack, have a lot of other riders who could do something as well.

Fancy our chances here with the combo of Borges, Godoy and Txurruka. |

These hilly circuits are somewhat Marcel Wyss' strong point, here he can make good use of his downhill skills. Hope he gets back in his spring shape and scores big time.
Looks like a talent-packed startlist, we need to be extra-attentive all the time.

When I saw this, I was like, "WTF, I signed up for this race?" And then I realized it's the Hill Classic.

Great I didn't sign up for this, I knew this was going to be a popular choice
baseballlover312, 06-03-14 : "Nuke Moscow...Don't worry Russia, we've got plenty of love to go around your cities"
Sarah Palin, 08-03-14 (CPAC, on Russian aggression) : "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a nuke is a good guy with a nuke"
Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!

Horrible race for us. Always expected us to fail my win goal as this is not the race that suits Geschke the best with thousands of climbing metres but failing to reach the top 40 is just off the limit.
That most of the riders in the top 10 ride for promotion candidates is another disappointment for us.
Now, I hope that he can return to Tour of Indonesia in a better shape. I have huge expectations for that one since the stages suit us perfectly.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!
