Yes, the shadows have improved.
After turning High Definition Range lightning, Hardware Shadow Mapping and Post-Processing on in a configuration file, you can get it to look quite well actually.

Shadows have improved, but the start gate hasnt :/

yeah theres absolutly no texture on the gray parts of the start gate.
Is it made of plastic????
