Best race ever
But I think the fun for Compal will end already tomorrow. The two last hills will certainly be too tough for most of our guys.

Hollenstein needs to keep close to Mendes tomorrow or the GC is gone. Guess Imhof will get dropped like Stannard and all the other TT-specialists on the top of the rankings. Apart from these uncertainties we are pretty satisfied with the flat stage results so far.

3 in the top 20 is something I did not expect, great stuff
Puusepp tried, maybe too early, but he tried...

Makino still hanging on a top 10 is the only positive we make out of this stage. Tomorrow will be very interresting from our point of view! |

Woah.
Mendes taking the GC win wasn't really what I expected after him being quite behind.
4th and 7th GC is something I can live with, yeah. Zoidl on 2nd really bothers me though.
Plus the fact that Boi is now prolly pretty close.
And I thought the promotion battle couldn't get closer...

Happy with this, three riders nicely placed in the GC, U-25 and leading the team classification. Also looking like we will achieve our goal. Just praying for a normal stage and a good performance from Matthews now.

Brilliant ride from both Sarabia and Cioban today even though it broke my heart to see that finish line photo.
Now to defend the podium and mountain jersey one day and I'll be ready to say that this race has been a great success for the team

Crap, plenty of points for all the teams that are in battle for the top 10 with Siam Cement. That of course puts a lot of pressure on my team and especially Vitor Rodrigues who'll have to deliver in his remaining races.
Was cheering for Sarabia, would've been nice if he could've snatched the GC away from the others. |

This race was directed by some worldclass regisseur. If all classifications stay the same then Sauber will be the worst of the 4 teams that are in the battle and participated here despite of scoring over 7 PPRD.
The situation really brought some interesting situation :
BoI got a stage win + GC lead.
TTT two into the top 7 GC.
Evonik 2 into the top 10 GC.
Sauber gets second in provisory GC.
If all the classification stay the same way then Siam and Azteca are the big losers of this race while BoI is suddenly looking decent-ish again and my Evonik guys and the boys from TTT have made a huge step into promotion direction.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Wow, don't think PCM has ever made me this happy - what a win from Jose. He really delivered when we needed it most, bringing us close to the Top 10 again. The job still isn't done, we'll need some big scoring from him in his remaining three classics.

Short story: as feared Hollenstein couldn't keep up with Mendes and the GC went down the drain.
The only good thing about this race is we had eight stage top 10th till here.

What is this AI? This is absolutely rubbish, Stannard should never be dropped there, disgusting really...
In all seriousness, we expected that we wouldn't do anything on the GC, just hope some of my riders can bother to make the break tomorrow

Too bad Wohler missed the polka dot. Would have been a nice achievement!
Mendes living up to his potential is good to see. Had hoped for a better Haas show, but he did okay.. Funny to see the van der Ploegs finish side-by-side.

Still ahead of BoI, that's something!
I hope Rodrigues makes us move back into the top 10 in the remaining races.
Even Euskaltel seems within reach if October turns out for them as the first 6 months and Rodrigues repeats his August performances. |

Meh, poor finish.. Still, happy with the race overall. Might even overtake Vontobel in the rankings, though the Tour of Utah will be a tough one for us.
Thanks for the reports and the update, The Rider
