Also the penultimate update for the PCT division. Lots of decisions yet to be made and also with the Tour of America a huge decider took place this month. For both, promotion and relegation area this year!
What used to be a talent development way, was used by Spotify to score big. Going down into the C2 events to score C1 kind of points. Well done by them in the Herald Sun Tour early on. Still trying to climb up the ranking to potentially promote still.
Then the mighty Tour of America. Lots of good scoring here. Best of all teams are Telkom with a huge depth and also very, very good individual performances with Augustyn being some kind of surprising top rider for them. Also Porto Prio did very well and might have done a lot better in fact without Reis crashing out of the race lead...still both teams did extraordinarily well there and are looking solid on promotion course while VisitUkraine as 3rd promotion candidate surely belongs to the weaker teams there but also with a rather weak squad in comparison.
Then lots of bottom half teams. Eritel to start with did very well and have scored their way out of relegation danger.
Other teams surely hope the same. In especially Aeropostal scored a lot there with Rujano and Granjel Cabrera doing nicely. Flores and Azteca didn`t have as strong teams as others but still manages to score some valuable points there and clearly more than Compal Merida.
And then there is In-n-Out, who have won the event even. Decent scoring but their positions beforehead was really far down. So the full ranking further below will tell you, if some teams got out of that area.
Britain was less of a decider. Vontobel and In-n-Out scored best from the bottom teams, Arrinera as mid table team won the scoring while Hugo Boss attacks the top spots and Meiji moving up the table.
Ukraine then might have been the needed race for Compal as Dekker takes yet another HC event and might have scored enough to see them going above the line while also Azteca scored on non cobbled terrain here which was continued in Rheden, where Summerhill couldn`t win but still delivered some points. Strava at the top area to grab most points here.
The late months classics saw similar scorings by teh top teams. More important though the top performers. Meiji in Nantou Classics more and more becoming a promotion candidate while Aeropostal with another good race in GP Oran. Surely a lot more teams now inside the huge relegation zone.

No changes for the top3. Wiesenhof still dominating the division having a good gap going into the final month.
Porto Prio isolated in 4th but potentially going up or down still as the gaps aren`t that big really. Then Telkom climbing from 9th to 5th. Both teams took profit from the Tour of America really.
VisitUkraine still on a very decent run here and might hope for some more Cunego performances to finish the season on a high.
Generali, Meiji, Ayubowan and even Spotify also remain in the potential promotion spots and need to fight for positions here.
Further down Eritel and Compal made huge moves up. Both outside the relegation danger for the moment. First might have won the fight already while Compal is not totally out of it but has a couple of teams now in between as puffer.
Then also Azteca climbs above the line. Only just though as it`s 14 points only. Flores and Aeropostal both remain below the line, which is a pity for those after hoping to be better with the recent scoring. In especially Aeropostal with 2 huge races this month but scoring in general was well down there. Shimano and Lierse now in danger as the gap is tiny.
A lot worse the look for Vontobel. With Di Maggio mainly having a bad season, they dropped with every update and now are 28th even! Still in range but really looking in danger to go down.
In-n-Out scored well this month but as said, their gap was huge already and still is rather huge.
| 1 | 1 | | Wiesenhof - Andritz | 3291 | | 2 | 2 | | Hugo Boss | 2806 | | 3 | 3 | | Strava | 2712 | | 4 | 4 | | Porto - Prio | 2662 | | 5 | 9 | | Team Telkom for Africa | 2519 | | 6 | 7 | | VisitUkraine p/b Nemiroff | 2365 | | 7 | 6 | | Generali - AXA | 2317 | | 8 | 11 | | Meiji - JR East | 2293 | | 9 | 5 | | Coldeportes | 2277 | | 10 | 10 | | Ayubowan! | 2243 | | 11 | 12 | | Spotify - Haglöfs | 2228 | | 12 | 14 | | Banc na hÉireann | 2141 | | 13 | 8 | | Novatek-Panarmenian.net | 2115 | | 14 | 16 | | Arrinera | 2066 | | 15 | 13 | | Team UBS | 1980 | | 16 | 15 | | Valio - DeLaval | 1977 | | 17 | 23 | | Eritel - Sonatrach | 1910 | | 18 | 21 | | Netia - Norske Skog | 1784 | | 19 | 17 | | Euskaltel | 1782 | | 20 | 18 | | Karcher - Adira | 1774 | | 21 | 20 | | Indosat - ANZ | 1633 | | 22 | 26 | | Compal-Merida | 1593 | | 23 | 19 | | Shimano - Siam Cement Team | 1539 | | 24 | 22 | | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo PCTeam | 1523 | | 25 | 27 | | Azteca - NBCSN | 1490 | | 26 | 24 | | Flores - Ceitec | 1476 | | 27 | 28 | | Aeropostal Venezuela Ciclismo | 1424 | | 28 | 25 | | Vontobel | 1419 | | 29 | 30 | | In-n-Out p/b Carrefour | 1293 | | 30 | 29 | | SanCor | 1023 |
What about the projections? The top5 remains, only Porto is passing Strava for the podium. But the projected gap between 5th and 6th looks rather big and hence the five secured promotion teams might already plan for the PT.
Below Meiji goes up to 6th and hence might go back as well into the PT division.
Coldeportes behind but rather unimportant. Bigger move by Auyobwan then who is still potentially climbing a lot ahead of Ukraine and Generali. All those teams might promote, might not. All depends on orders a lot. Just like Spotify then, who is struggling in the projections.
At the bottom good news for couple teams. Compal, Shimano, Indosat, Lierse and last but not least Flores! They are projected above the line. In especially good news for last mentioned as they swap positions with Flores due to less used race days.
Aeropostal and Vontobel seem to go down unfortunately just like In-n-Out.

A long, long time since Amador has finished his PCT season. And while the team is in the middle of nowhere this season, the Costa Rican dominated the stage races but now is passed by Kinoshita. Well deserved in the end as he was just as dominating in almost all hill events and seeing he still has a hilly classic left, no real danger to lose the individual lead now.
Dekker with a huge final 2-3 months too the late stage races just as dominant as Amador did the earlier ones. A pity that both didn`t race a lot against each other. The Dutch carried his team pretty much alone but might have saved them from relegation.
Also LLS with a huge last months and remains in the top area, proving to still be one of the best PCT riders and also Froome with a late push to the top10.

Nantou and Torino sucked for us really.... We're still close as hell to VisitUkraine and Ayubowan (and Coldeportes which is dead anyway, as well as Meiji that however is gone probably), but I would have hoped to see us in front of them in PPRD at this point of the season. Clearly Ulissi thought otherwise. It all depends on how well others do, Spotify is getting close too and they have at least one other huge race.
The direct promotion positions look done at the moment. Don't want to jinx anything but congrats to all of you, that's definitely deserved! On a more bitter note, bad news for the teams at the bottom who will have to hope for some miracles to stay in the PCT. Aeropostal looked safe after America and Oran, but clearly it's just a winning bias and their situation was worse than expected. Unfortunate to see those managers likely go down.
Thanks roturn!

The only conclusion to be drawn from this ranking is that the team seems to be safe from the descent ... This is undoubtedly a year to forget and remember for different reasons.

Oooooh, so relieved to see that updated ranking. Over the line for the first time in ages!
I hope that 100 points on Azteca may prove enough in the end, as we have some race days to go as well.
Kinoshita takes Meiji up towards the promotion battle, which is kinda cool to see.
On the same time, it's sad to see SanCor going down, one of my favourite teams in the game.
Thank you roturn for the fabulous update! |

Things looking good for direct promotion. Ofc Wiesenhof far far up ahead and I suppose congratulations are already in order. A fantastic team this year, much deserved. The depth of Hugo Boss also great, especially in hilly classics they have had a similiar strategy to ours, just better, much better.
Baugnies win definitely helped us to keep us in 3rd. Jerome almost scored as much as Summerhill, shows how strong suppot can make a deficit of 3 cbs points! Hoping for a strong final month of Van der Sande now to keep the third place. It'd be mega sweet to finish first season in PCT as a runner-up on the podium, after promoting as a new team on the podium as 2nd last year too.
Relegation battle is really close, hard fought out. I'd hate to see the cobble segment disappear so completely however Summerhill actually belongs to PT rather than PCT. Lierse at least sorta look safe by now, who knows what's possible with the talents next season. Compal finally out of relegation zone is great to see tho!
Thanks for the update roturn!

Looking at it now, I'm quietly confident that we should promote as a result of disbandments/division changes. However, I can only be certain of that with us finishing in the top 8 (or 9, with Coldeportes disbanding). And I'm not exactly convinced that'll happen
I can't see us finishing ahead of VisitUkraine from here, as with Cunego and Vanderbiest in their remaining races they should score pretty well. I also have to fear Spotify catching us from behind with Ahlstrand likely the big favourite in Paris-Tours and Solidarnosc. Then with Generali it should come down to Gautier and Bellis cancelling Ulissi out, in which case we then have to see if Petit can make up for our likely zero score in Faso. And I have my doubts.
So basically, I'm not too confident about promoting. But with 10 riders getting stat gains this offseason, not promoting wouldn't be the worst position to be in |

And there's the expected drop. Compared to the pre-season expectations we're still doing well, but our top-10 goal is far away now. Hopefully we find a miraculous way to achieve it, but it would surprise me.

That's what one bad month does for you. From "I guess I'm safe" to an imminent defeat. Went to check the calendar, two hill classics where Waeytens will give us 0 points and one flat stage where Peeters will let me down again. The only hope I have left is Paris-Tours, a race Van Asbroeck should like. I just hope he doesn't choke again.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Thanks for another update roturn!
Another great month passed by, super pleased by that
Feel almost certain that top 5 goal will be completed now, which is awesome news. Nothing to do with Wiesenhof, but never expected to challenge them either so.
The fact our best scorer is on 17th place says alot, although ideally Bilbao shouldnt be our main source of points, its still nice that we have so many different good scorers. Especially Slagter surprised me positively after a weak start to the season, Salas also doing nicely now!
Really interesting battles now on both ends, gonna be another exciting season ending

With all the bad results coming in month after month after month... we can be happy to not be done, yet.
It'll be difficult, but with 200 points in the last ten race days of the season we may can start looking left and right. Last year Di Maggio managed to podium in Emilia and Japan, similar results in 2016 would really reinvigorate our survival race.
Thanks for the detailed update, roturn!

We sure picked the right C2 race and lineup there, it was really most for developing Faglum Karlsson. If i did and remember right he goes to level 3 thanks to that race and getting 133 pts is a huge bonus
If Ahlstrand would have been as good as I´ve hoped for, that means atleast getting the same amount of points as Lo Cicero we would have been top 5 now as one of our goals was this season... But enough whine about his preformance
But we are climbing close too top 10 and with atleast two good opportunities too score great for us in Paris and Poland. And maybe Byström can continue what he showed in Britain when he races in Japan.
Impressive season by Strava straight from CT!
And thanks for another classy update roturn! |

Ian is gone from the forum, so they disband either way. Thus it's better to have them in the relegation zone.

Very interesting battles here for the last couple races of the season! Kinoshita moving into first for the rider rankings is my major goal of the season at this point so having that is nice! (Although I fear what the contract demands will be) Being in a potential promotion spot is also very nice but nothing that my season is riding on!
Im pretty sure Kinoshita has only the Japan Cup left, but Im hoping he is the absolute favourite there, and will hopefully get a nice boost from the local fans! That is our best chance of scoring big though, (maybe the only real chance too) so I'm not sure we will move up anymore than where we are at currently. Definitely could see us getting passed on in the final stretch here.

We're safely in the middle I guess. Hopefully next year will be better. If I have any money, I'll upgrade Reichenbach and Reinhardt to make them competitive and hopefully give it another go at promotion.
Really pulling for Margh here, it would really be sad to see Vontobel relegate.

Pretty dissapointed that ToA didnt bring us up more, but slowly we're gaining points, hopefully we can catch fire before the end of the season |

Ian is gone from the forum, so they disband either way. Thus it's better to have them in the relegation zone.
