Copenhagen-Malmo TTT
Team time trial ( 58.6 km)
Welcome to the 13th edition of the MG TTT, from 2007 to 2011 held in the Netherlands as “Eindhoven Team Time Trial” on a shorter route than today.
From 2012 the race was moved to Scandinavia with start in Copenhagen and Finish in Malmø and extended to 58.6 km.
This year we have again got a different route, first and foremost do to the construction work done by A/S Øresund og Svensk-danska Broförbindelsen, which mean that the steep ramp up to and down form the bridge have been flattened out, making the race less dependent on climbing skills. In the process of route change it was also decided to have more kilometers at the Danish side, actually starting in Copenhagen, to get the "Øresundsbron" (the bridge) better centered on the stage.
The full length of the stage not changed, but the time check have been moved so that now we got the uphill ramp included in the 2nd section, previously it was part of the 1st section. Likewise the downhill ramp now part of the 3rd section, previously it was part of the 2nd section.
The local Danish spectators will find many riders to cheer for, Grieg – Maersk with four: Würtz - Hansen - Eg - Andersen, Air France – KLM, Farfetch Pro Cycling and Podium Ambition one each: Andersen, Krigbaum, Quaade
Also the Swedish fans got a rider here Aker – MOT’s Anderberg.
Hard to make a list of favorite teams but to have some idea this is the combined TT skill of the best 6 riders on each team.
1 | Team Tinkoff | | 472 | 2 | Generali | | 466 | 3 | Podium Ambition | | 464 | 4 | Aegon - Lavazza | | 461 | 5 | Fablok - Bank BGZ | | 460 | 6 | Moser - Sygic | | 460 | 7 | Grieg - Maersk | | 459 | 8 | Bennelong - Mitchelton | | 458 | 9 | Minions | | 458 | 10 | Repsol - Netflix | | 458 | 11 | Gazelle | | 457 | 12 | Team Puma - SAP | | 457 | 13 | Air France - KLM | | 456 | 14 | Team Popo4Ever p/b Nemiroff | | 455 | 15 | SPAR - Siam Cement | | 449 | 16 | EA Vesuvio | | 446 | 17 | T-Mobile | | 445 | 18 | Aker - MOT | | 443 | 19 | Farfetch Pro Cycling | | 436 | 20 | eBuddy | | 434 | 21 | Isostar - LimeBike | | 430 | 22 | Evonik - ELKO | | 404 | 23 | Festina - OAKA | | 392 | 24 | Indosat Ooredoo - ANZ | | 389 |
This list will not take into account that resistance may play a role and also some mountain skill might come in play although I don’t believe that will matter much.
Some teams comes will reduced squad size Festina – OAKA with 7 riders, Air France – KLM and Indosat Ooredoo – ANZ with 6 riders.
A list of notable individual rider sure to have an impact on the result here:

It annoys me that this is the only race without finishing points for everyone in the entire PT category. Thought to throw the race but the XP for Paprstka, Neilands and De Bondt was a nice little extra for this shitshow of a race.
Thanks for reporting this and congrats to the winner.

Okay, well we don't really have a star TT rider to pull the team nor time trial riders with the best resistance. So 10th place and I'll be happy

Not much to see here for us, I guess. And very difficult to pick a winner, so let's go with Tinkoff in front of Generali and Podium Ambition, as they're rated the highest in the overview posted by Tamijo |

After a fantastic start to the season, I hope to see this continueing with a good team depth here.
Top3-5 would be very nice. |

Possibly the 3rd best team attending, and we stacked it as best we could owing to our new TTT unit. So, based on how out season is going so far, we'll finish 12th!

Sounds like a plan. You know any danish beer that motivates cyclists to overperform? Doesnt seem like Carlsberg would help with that...

Indeed, Carlsberg seems to make sure cyclists have no cares in the world.

Just a usual Top-10 contender this year.. Should be the first time to miss the podium here, which is strange. But maybe the daily form is on our side and we can fight for a Top-5 eventually.

Knowing how TTTs work in this game, favouring more the heavy top squads like mine, i would be surprised if we can't fight for the Top5. Anything from 4th to 7th should be a logical result imo

I genuinely really thought about sending Gesink here but I ended up making a more rational choice and signed up my other 8 >= 75 TT guys instead.
Hopefully we can still get a top 3 either way, my team doesn't have a tip top TT guy but I do have a very balanced lineup with no real weak points. Not really sure how PCM 18 will handle this/whether it prefers one stronger guy but it worked pretty ok for me in PCM 15.
Massive thanks for the comprehensive preview Tamijo.

Would have liked to have Phinney and Wisniowski here, but couldn't really fit it in. With them we probably would have been amongst the favourites, but hopefully we can still fight for a top 5. Important race for us, partially on home soil, so go boys!

My best hope here is for Fiedler to just sit in front and everyone try to follow him... Would most likely not finish with 5 riders then
