PCT Rankings Update #2
roturn
Big PCT months is behind us. Eritrea and Pologne as clashing HC events obviously. Some cobbles in Gent-Wevelgem or Viana do Castelo as also in PT sharing Omloop. Hills in Strade Bianche or Almaty.

Looking on the HC clash most promotion candidates have scored pretty well in both. Netia scoring big in Eritrea while also UBS and Eritel did so and climbing a bit from the bottom with Lierse getting important points here as well. Then Fablok performing in their home race. Though it wasn`t the top scoring team as Berg Cycles did even more here and also Kraftwerk scored huge.

The cobbles were a good terrain for Newton with 3 very good races and also Lierse, Carlsberg, Podium Ambition had a good trio.

Strade Bianche was a race for 3 teams mainly. Kraftwerk, MOL and Fablok. All more than 100 points here with Grieg coming close, while Almaty went to Newton with Van Garderen delivering. Though Ferrero with 103 points even better as also Netia very decent.

In total this means a huge shuffle from the January Ranking. Fablok as only formerly top5 still in this area. Now at the top though even having a gap already to Berg and MOL. Netia following making it a good month for the Polish teams while Kraftwerk as last on the top5 ahead of Newton, who made a big climb from 19th.

Behind Generali then it`s Orange and Grieg dropping from the promotion area while Meiji even further from 1 to 13 or Indosat from 6 to 18!

Ferrero despite scoring best in Almaty or Spar being best in Gent-Wevelgem, both teams dropped significantly.

In the relegation area Ticos really looking desperate already having scored very few points only and also Compal and Minions looking rather bad. They really need their leader to deliver quickly. Best chances probably for Minion`s Uran quality wise though his season debut in Eritrea wasn`t promising.
Haute Route and Novatek as well in danger.

The projected rankings see Newton making the step up to 2nd as they haven`t used a lot race days yet. Different for Berg and MOL, who both drop down.

Also Generali as division`s most participations with 27 race days don`t look promising. Though still too early for very good projections.

At the bottom same 5 teams in different order though.

Rider wise Froome now raced 3 bigger events and scored well in all of them. TdU, Pologne and Bianche. Hence the easy ranking lead.
Schreurs also rode those 3 plus Colombo but only performed in the top area in the Aussie opener.

Flügel as 3rd shows the early advantage for puncheurs and the same races though performance in other direction and better trend as Schreurs.

Kwiatkowski might also belong to the puncheurs, which would make it a full top10 puncheur list. Though in fact, his main points come from Eritrea, which was more a climber event.

Kump as 13th and Schelling on a surprising 14th as first non puncheurs then or Guerao as 16th as first pure sprinter.
Dall'Oste surely the biggest surprise here.

I'm properly confused by the first tabel. What's the "Total" column? Because we definitely scored more than 28 points between updates and we started the month with 34.

I don´t really know but could it be pts in PTHC?

edit: Well guess it should be just that both PTHC and Total should go one step to the right Pfft

roturn
Yes. One tab were missing and hence it was 28 points you have scored in PTHC races in total. 321 is your total points scored.

Ollfardh
Yeah, I can live with that. Dall'Oste and a few others did really well, while the 5 points from Waeytens are just pathetic.

Fablok doing really well here, keep it up danny!

Thanks for the update!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Not good. This is not good. In my expectations we needed to be in the Top5 after February.

you know that your team is doing a great job when your best rider is only 22, but you're still second in the standings..Cool

February was without a doubt a good month for the team, despite the disaster that was the almaty race. Unfortunately I doubt the next month can run as well as this.

Thanks for the update.

I'm quite happy with where we're sitting after this month. Especially seeing as Lo Cicero haven't raced much Kulppi fell through completely in the first cobbles sitting at a grand total of 2 points right now.

A little step back, as expected. Not good enough results on the cobbles in February, at least we're off to a better start with the podium in Herning this month. Not to worried about being a good portion behind, after having Watson as leader in 15 of our race days so far. Wisniowski, Rowe and Boasson Hagen all with 4 race days at this point, so I'm confident we can climb upwards in the coming months.

Fablok looking very good atm, will be interesting to see if they can keep it going.

Pretty content with 16th, given how bad DUC and TDU were in January and then adding in the completely failure that was Viana. As those were three potentialy very strong races for us, to be above relegation shows we have a good team and an ability to score points in a range of races.

18th Predicted isn't too comfortable but allows us room to have some more bad races. And the 500 point gap dose ease the pressure as well. Certainly not out of the relegation battle entrely, especially as i expect teams like Minions, Euskaltel and Ferrero to really come on strong soon.
Luckily this update doesn't include our great Herning result, which makes me feel better and would have pushed us up both charts. Hopefully the rest of March is also positive in scoring.

Also massive shoutout to Simon Yates. The unmaxed 76HL rider sitting in 11th! Brilliant start to the year for him based on actual performance and not random breakaway. Compared to the 2mil spend on Marcus who's barely inside the Top50...

No it's indeed not looking too good for us and our promotion chances. Small or ridiculous underperformances in every single race bar Pologne are killing us.

Oh well, at least I'm not Isostar's manager, wouldn't want to deal with a sure relegating team phewww

Top 5 is where Kraftwerk needed to be at this stage in the season as Flügel has already ridden 45% of his race days. We can expect a graceful slide down the rankings from now on.

Very encouraged by Kreder and Denz scoring more points than expected, if they can keep it up we might just make our top 10 goal, long way to go.

Fablok looking good, congrats sgdanny.

Thanks roturn for another great update.

Great month. Biggest movers up the table with 13 spots gained and now projected for 2nd place. Quite surprising with TVG behind some punchuers he should really be beating in the individual rankings. But, our cobble team picked up the slack. Domene on par with Burghardt is laughable. Got to keep pushing now so we don't need a huge performance at the Tour of America later.

Thanks for the update.

Our fate is entirely in the hands of Úran. If he has a good season we will stay up, if he fails I don't think the likes of Betancourt, Albert and the sprinters can score enough points to keep us up. Will be nailbiting but I should hopefully see a better picture after March, when Úran has raced a bit more.

If our promotion dreams are to be realistic this is exactly where we we're supposed to be for that to hold. The next two months are quite weak months for us, so we really needed to take advantage of this. Mohs/Roche both have weak early months in terms of racing, so I didn't really expect them to be high on the rider rankings yet, though Roche could definitely have scored more in Eritrea.

When we get to around Nakhon and ToSA we will really begin to see if we can comeback in the standings, but next update we will definitely be on our way out of the Top 5. Only Poljanski will really get a chance to prove himself with some good secondary position that will add up nicely.

Orange is still my pick for the number 1 spot and Newton is coming really closely behind them. Berg was in my projected Top 5 candidates list, so if they can keep a good PPRD, then they will be hard to deny in the Top 5. Good to see fellow Netia having a good season. Other than that there are a few wildcards to challenge us, but in the end we will see if choosing to have a low priority for PTHC races will pay off for us.

Liking the consistent level of reporting, where lots of managers have been very active, also the consistent rankings reports are really well to have. Thanks for that Smile

Projected 12th with no contribution from Amador yet is a very good sign. If the team can keep it up, I would expect a top-7 or so. Schepling has really been pver performing. Thank you for the update and thanks to all the reporters for the great races and the fast pace.

Lots of crash involvements have kept our hilly depth mostly down so far. Henao Montoya's season starts soon. Hopefully good Performancestraat from him will see us rise up through the rankings.

We are meant to be last guys, the formulas foretold it! Pfft

Dream start to the season for us, could not have been better, now it's probably time to start dropping though as the calendar starts to turn away from our most suited races. Pfft

Amazing to see Fablok on top, Polish cycling has dominated January and Febuary. Grin

Thanks for the update Roturn and thanks to all the reporters who have kept the season running super smooth so far! Smile

Still too early to really know what's going on. We obviously scored some points on the cobbles, but that's supposed to be a good terrain for us, and those days are already almost passing us by, so we're still in for a long haul.

Abysmal month for us, and one we were expecting to score decently as well. That kind of drop really worries me. iirc Kinoshita is taking a pretty long break until the final 1/3 of the season now, so our point scoring may go down even more.
