E3 Prijs
HC Classic
With Paris-Roubaix, Ronde van Vlaanderen and East Midlands Classic dominating the PT calendar, it is time for the PCT riders to have their limelight on the cobbles. E3 Prijs is their big race, and a larger number of the big names are here, ready to battle for the victory.
The Favourites
| FL | COB | SPR | | | FL | COB | SPR | Summerhill | 78 | 83 | 70 | | Nooytens | 75 | 76 | 69 | Sibilla | 71 | 81 | 66 | | Joseph | 74 | 76 | 66 | Cancellara | 80 | 80 | 68 | | Thwaites | 73 | 76 | 78 | Vanbilsen | 78 | 80 | 72 | | Hnik | 73 | 76 | 72 | Baugnies | 78 | 80 | 65 | | Broers | 76 | 75 | 65 | Ferreira | 73 | 79 | 71 | | Tsatevich | 74 | 75 | 75 | Machado | 69 | 79 | 62 | | Fouquet | 74 | 75 | 68 | Gaudin | 74 | 77 | 57 | | Schlechter | 74 | 75 | 61 | Eeckhout | 72 | 77 | 64 | | De Backer | 73 | 75 | 74 | Langeveld | 76 | 76 | 63 | | Zhupa | 73 | 75 | 72 |
Danny Summerhill is the clear favourite for the race, and after his podium finish at the East Midland Classic, he is clearly in form. However, there will be a great deal of competition from Novatek, Strava and Lierse SK. All have multiple options ( Sibilla, Cancellara & Eeckhout for Novatek / Baugnies, Gaudin & Langeveld for Strava / Vanbilsen & Joseph for Lierse SK) for the leading the team, and can very easily used in the warring down on Summerhill with multiple attacks.
Ricardo Ferreira and Marc Machado will pose a threat for Prio-Porto and Vontobel respectively, whilst Sven Nooytens will be hoping to replicate teammate Lars Boom's success at this race for Aegon. Scott Thwaites will be a big threat if a good sized group makes it to the finish intack.

A win goal here, should've set it in Wevelgem though. Go Kenneth!

Please don't let me down again Fabian Not even starting to have hopes for Sibilla. Hopefully he'll score some minor points along with Vermote, Eeckhout and Kuznetsov.

With one of the best climbers on the startlist in Panayotov, as well as a cobblist rated no less than 73(!!!) in Gil, we will expect no less than a win here.
Real question here is if anybody can beat Summerhill - maybe Strava's excellent depth can manage it.
Thanks for the excellent preview The Hoyle!

Probably my best chance to top10 in a cobbled classic in 2016. Might need the walk to the PCT for this.
Nooytens, Bovenhuis, Sbaragli in PCT cobbles could work well I hope. |

Again? Wasn't he 2nd, better than the expected, in Duo Differdange? And 6th place was decent enough in G-W, I think. So, yeah, when were you let down by Fabian? (or is this some personal thing!) |

I was referring to cobbled only (Differdange was not a letdown - though that joke of a result shouldn't be taken into account anyway), but 6th twice and a 7th seem a bit meagre, at least top5 is what I thought he should be capable of. Maybe my expectations are just too high then

Will be great to cheer for otherwise Bewley-only helpers! Hopefully Hnik, Zhupa or Boroš can score a decent result here!

I'm so happy I wasn't in this band because of completely different transfer targets than expected, at least Teunissen can't let me down
Summerhill tho

Cool to be part of this and get our asses kicked by the PCT teams. Summerhill is an even bigger favourite here than Bewley is in the PT. Same goal as tastasol here, the being in the breakaway of the day will make it a successful race.
Looking forward to the race report! |

Hoping that the AI likes Strava as much as it did in the other PCT cobblez so far. However with the larger line-up, I think we will get a bit unlucky and team size won't matter that much, unfortunately.
It's a win goal here for me too, so just crossing fingers. PhilBear for long-range shot!

Unfortunately not quite true, Summerhill is a the favorite but he doesn't have Bewley level dominance. I get to see Bewley more than enough to know how crazy he is (hopes RVV doesn't end in Bewley win).
Either way this is a goal for us this season, though a conservative one at only a top 5 required. Summerhill should be able to achieve that without too much fuss. Just need to avoid problems and do what he normally does.

Hello PCTers.... Scotty has been pretty shyte at WT maybe saving himself to give you guys a sound pounding
Seriously though the usual thing will be four or five of the best Cobbled Stat men escape and sprint to deny SummerCBAwthPCT man.
Would be fun to see old Cancellara step out of the shadow of his former self and relive his days with his old GM watching!

Thanks for the preview, the_hoyle!
Highly doubt Machado will challenge the best nor play a big role in this race..., but as most of the time on cobbles: anything is welcome.
Last year we had some luck getting 4th from the break, would be awesome to come close to a result like that.

Newton has been waiting in fear for this race all season.
Hopefully Tsatevich can justify the training I gave him over the offseason.

Hope my entire team makes the BOTD.
Anyway, Summerhill masterclass should continue I think, would be good to see Vanbilsen pop up though.
