Sorry about missing the first few stages, I've been away at a festival all weekend with no coverage. Lovely preview as usual and congratulations to all the stage winners far!

Anonymous race for us as yet, to be expected really.

Zabel doing pretty well, I really hope Flügel attacks on the next hilly stage, or his race days here will be wasted.

I'm glad to see Gautier salvage this here, but it's a little disappointing that he ends up 8th on GC when a top 5 was on the cards without the needless time loss on Stage 3. I also can't decide whether to be concerned about his positioning and lack of an early attack on the climb, or whether to be happy that he was strong enough to overcome that and catch the leaders Pfft

3rd is pretty nice with all things considered. Surprised by Flügel, gratz to Wiesenhoff!

I do hope Froome will do better in San Luis...

Good work for Betancourt, just about hanging on for the top 10 I hoped for. Barrio has been invisible in the race but I guess we can't really complain. Looking forward to see if Guerao can perform on the last flat stage.

Caruso struggling a bit there finishing in 10th on the stage and losing a minute to the winner. But not surprising given the large difference in hill stat and his rather average positioning going into the final climb. 9th in the GC would not be a bad result for him if you add the stage win he managed to get. He's also high in the points classification which brings in a small handful of points.

One big upside for me from this race so far is that I have had a decent/good rider in the breakaway in 4 of the 5 stages. Despite these riders not making it to the finish ahead of the peloton I am pleased to see the attacking mind set in the team, especially from Roy! A bunch of my guys finished between 25th and 40th in the GC which is just outside points but shows they're capable of helping my points tally.

Just hoping for Caruso to cement his spot on the final stage and would be nice to see another of my riders in the breakaway.

Decent defending by Kump here, 'disaster' avoidet atleast. Pfft
Guess in a Down Under field more stacked than in the previous (with top puncheurs) editions it would be harsh to expect anything more really, GC-wise atleast.

Congratz Heine, not wasted racedays after all!

Now hold onto the Points jersey plz!

BTW, Reimer -> Kump.

Well done by my team and by Flügel! Seems like it pays off having a strong team with them assuring Flügel great positioning. Also well done by Zingle, that should assure a top 15 to get some extra pprd.

I was looking forward to this race to see how the support of Dieteren, Zingle and Preidler would work, and it looks to work like a charm.

Edit: Great and exciting report

stunning report for Stage 5, would´ve loved to see Kump hanging on but I guess this is also not too bad of an overall result for him...

So close to a podium there, but it's still doable since Ulissi continues on his continuous upward spiral Pfft

It is going to be tough but I'm glad we're getting a lot out of this race, with the teams classification, a top 10 and a top 20, and various top 5s in the other rankings. Obviously I'm hoping Ulissi can win stuff as well soon but as long as he's so damn consistent and Molard and Theuns do the same I'm going to be happy.

Congrats to Heine for a great start, would have never expected flugel honestly. Fantastic report.

Wow, winter sprint-training has really paid off the last hundred metres to the finish line. Awesome racing by Di Maggio, not winning in a talent packed field like this is nothing to be ashamed for... even if it would've been cool to be the first winning twice.

Wiesenhof with the dominating hilly-team what seems to be the difference-maker. Flügel had apparently the most energy left and will be a well-deserved winner.

Froome showed what he's feared for. Have no doubt he will win several summit stages arrivals.

Once again, amazing report, roturn! Really anticipated the stage 5 report release and it keeps it's promises.

Good ride from Flügel - and a complete disaster for my team.

Thanks for the report!

Going for 'Most Invisible Team' in this race. Hope I can win!

With 8 rider on or above 80 in hills I must be satisfied with Reimer (75 hill) sitting good at a 6th place in GC. Much stronger field then last year with only two 80+ guys.

And the still 2nd in pts jersey and some small pts for guys around 25th in GC.

It´s a good start for this season, will se if we have something to do on the last stage.

and ofc congrats Heine and thanks roturn!

Palini 12th in the. GC is decent but once again I'm thinking he could've stayed a bit more forward and been closer to the attacks. I have the feeling he'll spend the season as a rider who never under or over performs. Pretty happy with the rest of my team today though, Stachowiak up in the break and Bernas finishing with Palini on the climb. Smile

Now just up to Vantomme on the final stage!

Congrats Heine and thanks Roturn. Smile

I really don't understand why none of my riders are contesting anything. Reichenbach is 78 Hill and he's just sitting in the peloton, not trying to do anything in the end. Hopefully its just an unlucky race.

Loving the racing Down Under - Flugel should keep the jersey on the final stage, so well done to him and Heine.

Great reports as always Roturn, and it is nice to see the jerseys I made for the different teams on show at the front Wink

Great stage! Was actually almost expecting the breakaway to make it home safe, but great domestique work!
