Here at PCM.daily, we like rumours. Yesterday, we mentioned that the game might be available for Xbox 360 even though nothing official has been said about the game yet. Today, it's a demo rumour. On the French forum, a rather unknown guy, pitch018, has said that the demo is due for Friday. This is, of course, a very unreliable source, but the admin at CyM Portugal, JanUllrich_11, who has personal connections with some Cyanide people, has also - independent of pitch018 - said that the demo will come on Friday.
No details have been given, and there's still no official information.
I would just like to remind you all that the Open Bar event is today. A lot of you have asked questions in the thread here at PCM.daily, and these questions will probably be answered before the start of the Open Bar. If you still have some questions left to be answered, show up at the Official Forum between 17:00 and 21:00 (GMT +1). Following English speaking beta testers will be there: Myself (CrueTrue), Dankan (aka DaniS), Arkel, Savo_NCL and Serifo. Some Cyanide people will also be there.
Several months ago, it was rumoured that PCM08 maybe would be available for a third platform (other than PC and PSP), this of course being either Xbox 360 or Playstation 3. This was backed up by Clément Pinget in the January interview by PCM.daily where he said: "the game will be released on PC, PSP - and probably another platform". Since then, we haven't heard anything. No screenshots, no official information. However, some things indicate that the game might come for Xbox 360 anyway.
On the official website, you can see a Xbox 360 Live logo at the bottom of the site, right next to PSP and PC DVD logos. On the French gaming website, Jeux Online, who ever since the beginning has been following Cyanide and their games, it's said that Pro Cycling Manager 2008 will be released for PC, PSP and Xbox 360 Live Arcade (the online gaming shop where you can download games directly to your Xbox). Another hint is found at JDLI, another French website, where Focus in an interview from the 5th of March says that they will "suggest making a version of Tour de France exclusively for Xbox Live Arcade". Last, but not least, it's also mentioned on the game's official website where it's clearly stated that the game will be released for Xbox 360 (thanks, stuartmcstuart). Earlier, Cyanide has said they had a few surprises yet to announce. One of them was the Database Editor. Maybe, this one's another?
Focus, the international publisher of the game, has responded to these rumours by stating that they "can't say anything about such a version yet".
As always, Cyanide will host a so-called Open Bar event which is simply a live chat between the beta testers and you, the ones who may or may not buy the game depending on our answers ;) With the Open Bar you can ask the beta testers whatever you want about Pro Cycling Manager 2008, Here's the details for the event:
Date: 11th of June Time: 17:00 until 21:00 (GMT +1) Location: The official forum
Before the Open Bar, a FAQ will be posted at the official forum to avoid having a lot of the same, basic questions. Therefore, I have opened a thread in the forum where you can ask your questions before-hand - it's based on these questions that he FAQ will be made. So, go ask your questions in the thread, and remember to show up on Wednesday ;)
A few days ago, the French fansite PCMAssistance, posted an interview with Eyolfur and promised two more interviews. The first one of them has now been posted, and this time it's bdufourd aka Requim aka Benoit who has been interviewed. He has mainly been "community manager" and has been leading the beta tests.
The interview itself doesn't tell much new stuff, though. It mainly tells something about the process of the beta from the very beginning with the many beta tester applications, to the leak of the screenshots and with the "final run" of the game. He says that he's satisfied with the feedback which the beta testers have given, and that it's important to have some critical thinking after 1 year of work. Currently, the game is nearly on its way to the publisher who will then take care of the rest.
