What do we want improved in PCM13?
More abandons in both one-day and stage races for reasons such as illness, etc. As the game is now riders go on throughout tours finishing dead last on every stage. IRL they would have abandoned after a stage or two.
Riders who crash and get hurt, reach the finish but do not start the next day.
1:1 scale for the last 2-3 km of flat/hilly stages and the last KM on mountain stages will be a major improvement to the realism of the game as we would see a lower threshold for time gaps (1-2 sec gaps as you see IRL). |

become a pro mode!
and improve the manager part of the game,
like teams are not signing 'random' riders (in pcm11 they just sign evry good or populer rider...)

Would like to see some kind of influence on starting positions in 3D races.
For example to have all 4 leading jersey from a stage race, in the front of the pack, at the start. And maybe also the choice to pick one or two riders starting near the front if you want to go on an attack, or keep your captain out of trouble.
Like in real life!

Yeah, like some riders sitting on the saddle while attacking, etc.
I hate when riders look behind themselves when attacking from the back of a group... |

They shouldn't focus on that imo. There's other editors such as Lachi's to solve that problem.

The entire manager part needs a complete overhaul. If you look at other manager games, PCM is missing so many things, I would hardly call it a manager game.

Also, graphical elements, like varying cadences for riders and riders zipping open jerseys or wearing jackets in rainy conditions would be appreciated. The convoy of team cars would make it more realistic, along with animations of a rider getting bottles from the team car or a mechanic jumping out and fixing a puncture.
But I guess that's asking for a lot

Just reading the first post, I thought if we had some sort of 'Race News' for stage races it could bring the player closer to the insight of the race. I actually thought of it because of the 'rider abandon in-between stages', how would we know that? It could appear in the 'race news', and also a couple of questions/answers (for example, how does it feel for a rider to be in a certain position, what's a certain rider ambitions for the rest of the race, etc).. but if they'd ever implement that I'm afraid it'd look quite stupid like the magazine currently (more than 3Q&12A would be good ).
Some simpler stuff that I'd really like to see is the possibility to create 3 and 4-laned bridges, and also that riders take both sides of roundabouts when going straight in it, like they did in 09. Also I'd be nice if the teams abbreviations changed with the future sponsors, and perhaps the team equipment (e.g. teams change to main sponsor "Trek" but rides on Specialized - but that isn't really a problem for Cyanide's DB with fake sponsors/equipment so I don't see that coming.. ever).
And to dream a little bit.. the track AI is horrible after you play a couple of times (predictable), they haven't worked on that since 09 , it could be time to do it

Something like that before each stage a list of abandons pops up with also reasons for abandoning (important) like injury, illness, poor form, etc. |

Another dream would be if PCMDaily could get our own AI-programmer who can edit the race AI |

It's not even a dream at this point
Cyanide would never do such thing, the game is hard-coded and engine only available to Cyanide staff.
I would like though, as other comapnies do it - Cyanide releasing the engine they build the old PCM's. Very doubtful though.
Manager Mode needs overhaul. And a a big one. Also I would like general recovery stat. There's one in stage races, but there's isn't one between classics. Wchich is annyoing. I.e. Giving on made-up example - Flecha doing 50km solo and winning Omloop - and next day starting with full green bar in KBK and doing the same thing...

With the graphical power that would need require, myc omputer would implode.

Manager overhaul as well as everything else in theis thread.
They call it a Manager but it's a simulation... and a crappy one at that.

I want better personalities. Riders aren't just a picture and a bunch of stats. Same with managers.
There could be news articles that aren't just :"This was the Top 10 at this race"! Maybe have a bit about how that rider won it and stuff.
Make the scouting better.
Unzipped shirts would be cool. Rain coats too. Dogs running on the street...
If a rider asks you to relay in the break, maybe have them showing their frustration. Have tons of different attack animations, not just 3. Same with sprinting. Even TTing position would be awesome.
Make it harder for riders to come from behind and outsprint you, even though your sprint train is 3-4 bike lengths ahead of everyone else, it might lead to lead outs being too easy though...
Fix the race planner so that you can see how many race days a rider has, or will have.
Make it so that teams with bigger budgets like Sky and Garmin have their riders improving more/quicker than a team like Team MTN or Sparta Praha.
Maybe make the contract negotiations harder for little teams. If a rider has a reputation above X and is not from a region your sponsor wants, make it impossible to join, unless the rider specifically says they want to race there, which would go back to my personality point.
I think we also need more stats like consistency, poise, some form of stat that decides if a rider likes high or lower gradient climbs.
Then this
