McEvoy should not have tried to follow Pozzato it was just a waste of energy that ended up costing a better final classification.
But then I'm glad to see my team involved in the discussions of the stages. Also the 8th place of vakoc was a good demonstration of its capabilities

Man a lot of Pozzoto love here - the guy majorly screwed up his sums there the strongest guy loses to the smart one Ventoso - who is a bit of a bugger for these sorts of hill/sprint stage races having one the Tour of Blighty (Like Tour Down Under but with worse teeth) in the past.
What happened to the Wiener? Very poor from the Saffer there - he could slip out if contention without the golden fleece. Now we have the curly haired muppet as leader ffs.
Hey DD - you sure you don't have these Gazelles Gelded for extra quickness?
Haha, yeah I agree the Curly Haired Muppetâ„¢ screwed up from a pure performance perspective. But let's not forget the fans and spectators! Without them cycling would be nothing more than a hobby and the not quite gelded Gazelles are here to entertain them.
I'd rather say The Wiener got gelded there...

Could be critical that Pozzato now takes the leaders jersey - even if his tactics choice may have denied him a stage win. Could easily see him winning Stage 3 now, while it becomes a little harder for Impey.

Suparman... 3rd time lucky?
Prevar doing really well so far, hope getting Efimkin won't turn out to be a dumb move...

Nice to see Pozzato in the leaders jersey, although being in s.t. as two other good sprinters might cost a bit. Keep getting bonus seconds is great though. With some luck he can take time on Willunga or what it's called

I don't know what to think about this race. I haven't spotted our jersey a single time, but still we're very much in contention for a lucky top 10 if we attack at the right time at a later stage.
Seems like we're to weak to be considered among the favorites, and to strong to be allowed into breakaways. I hate this position |

Nice one Paco! What a strong comeback. I had in mind quite a few podiums and good placement but a win that soon is an encouraging sign for the rest of the season.
Surprised that Impey looked rather wimpy this time. Maybe needs a HI boost next year to be able to bully in this kind of terrain. Still he is and will be a very dangerous rider.
Pozzo is in a great position to hold the jersey until the final day. I think the key stage is tomorrow's. With the first hilly stage we will see how the gaps are awarded and if the pure puncheurs are able to fright the hilly sprinters.
EDIT: I completely missed out that Bostner is the leader of the U25. Well done lad!!!

Mmm. Love the pace of reporting, not a lot else to like here from the first 2 stages from Nutresa; still pretty anonymous. At least no time lost, but Klemme and Chaves need to get in and about the thick end of things when the road goes up in stage 3. Also can't understand why Richeze is the only one of our three potentail sprinters at least trying to get up in the sprints (aprat from the fact this is PCM) - he is the worst sprinter and lowest hills in comparison to Gavazzi and Avila. In his defence at least he is making some effort - his team-mates should take note; Grrh!
Gratz to DD - a fine debut thus far for Pozzato in Gazelle colours + Ventoso/ggD in stage 2. Seems like a race specifically for old-age pensioners at the moment .

Hmm, looks as if Oscar Gatto steped aside in favor of good Di Maggio finishes. Could be a good sign for the next and the crucial Willunga Hill stage, but kinda sad if the sacrafice wouldn't pay off in the GC.
Great speed and quality of reports, roturn!

Two stages down and AMEX is hiding. Granted stages 1 & 2 were not ideal for our squad, we are still in the racing. Stage 3 should be very telling. Can the punchuers push the sprinters out of GC contention?
AMEX's MehrWinge-Wenige Neeeds to stay with the leaders tomorrow and to do that he needs Taborre and Le Gac to have strong, smart rides. I can see a breakaway succeeding and the punchuers exploding for a 2 minute gap over the peloton to set up a very tactical stage 5.
I would love to see Oliver Le Gac in the day's breakaway!

There go my chances of a good GC result.
Let's hope Simon can get into the breakaway and get a good stage result from there

Nice AI.
I hate when the peloton just cruises 4 mins behind even they were 2 behind with 10kms left. When your leader is not randomly set to attack, he will just sit there and loose minutes as pack does nothing, cool...
Congrats to lucky breakaway, also great job by DiMaggio for closing that gap and getting back in contention for overall win.

I did not expect such huge gaps on this stage. Great stage for all those who have a hill leader.
I completely agree with Avin on the sitting up topic but i guess that's just PCM
