Barely Top 15 for Sütterlin isn't great, and we have four riders just outside the Top 50 now.
So I'm torn between hoping for an easy stage tomorrow to at least save the points for 13th/14th, or hoping it'll break up and those four who all don't hate the hills can climb the GC a little bit.
Either way, 2 4 5 6 in the U25 looks great! I wasn't even aware we have such a monopoly on decent TT talent.

Pretty much in line with the expectations going into this so far, some are slightly underperforming and some are doing a bit better than predicted. Would be an ok result all things considered if the final positions don't fluctuate during tomorrow's stage.
Thanks for your reporting work Kent!

This race is not going to get us a lot of points. Our TT riders are only good as a collective. Alone they are very mediocre.

Oh my god, what a stage for us!!!
Colin Stüssi you madman, coming from an already crazy Pais Vasco into a race he's absolutely not suited for on paper, to deliver this performance!
And behind, Sütterlin made the crucial break despite his uphill skills to also gain a place in the GC despite getting overtaken by the breakaway.
Plus, Leung got dropped from the main peloton which means 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the U25 as well!
What an insane amount of points from a rather unimportant race for us, we gained nearly 200 points just in one stage, and Stüssi probably entered the Top 30 in the individual rankings for this short moment (renewals, ow...).
This is a result that will be cherished going forward and could easily see us finish one or two places higher in the final PT rankings just based on this scoring alone.
With that being said, obviously I understand everyone who's majorly dissatisfied with this stage and I feel you. Besides the obvious up front, that was a really random split behind, considering Sütterlin made it (and the split obviously helped the break).
We have been disproportionally lucky so far this season, I will absolutely admit that, regardless of me trying my best to plan ahead. I'm sorry to everyone who we do not deserve to beat based on manager skills.
Thank you Kentaurus for reporting on this beautiful mess, and congrats to Grieg for still taking the favorite win home, as well as to all our fellow breakaway teams, thanks for contributing!

Thank f*ck AC held onto a GC Top10, and with Ewans Stage 2 win this race wasn't awful. But yet again we fall horribly short of what we need in a race like this to even consider survival. Luckily i knew we would relegate to the CT already

Fuck me, that was way too close for comfort. Not a bug surprise that the break made it to the line, but very surprised that both the Phinney group and the main peloton more or less had the same pace the last 30-40k.
Obviously great to get the win, but many places lost for Wurtz and "only" second in the Team GC, so not that perfect as it looked like before the stage. Great first race for Phinney in the end, really showing his qualities on a stage like this.
Thanks for the reports!

Very nice TT by Vangstad, obviously happy with 15th in such a race. Also good to see Phinney take the win, but also Paillot doing well.
That final stage ruined quite a lot GC wise for a lot of teams, though. Vangstad dropping from a minor GC place wasn't a surprise seeing the breakaway succeed, but having the top 10 completely shaken up like that is quite something. And seeing that, there can't be any doubt Puma will dominate this Pro Tour season as well
That breakaway was sensationally strong. Hoped Yzeiraj or others would join from us, and cool to see Yzeiraj try, eventhough it turned out be the wrong move.
Thank you for the reports, Kentaurus! |

This was very hilly for a flat stage and that split really screwed over the peloton and many people's GC's. But also great job by a strong breakaway. De Gendt single handedly saved this tour for us by grabbing the KoM, 6th in GC and 3d in a stage. This will probably be his last season with us and that was a great parting gift.

Well that was some... "unpredictable" AI, but our squad was obviously ready for something like this and I'm glad that Oliveira did what he's paid to do. This final stage was clearly great for us results wise with Oliveira and Kung both breaking in the top 10 and the team taking the top spot in the teams standings (once again!).
As an aside it was extremely cool to see Phinney take control there in the last few kms, not sure it would have happened in earlier iterations of the game.
A very nice point haul here that I can only be delighted about. Thanks for the fantastic reports Kent and congrats to tastasol!
