Juul Jensen is on fire! Gotta love a random Icelandic rider in the front group

I can understand why Ulissi has lost the sprint to Jull-Jensen - congrats bbl! - as Ulissi had to close the gap to the front group very recently and as in TDU stage he simply had no power left in his legs. About the second place, it must be that the actual finish line is not placed where the "finish line" is, but a few metres later.
Great report Tamijo!

Venter had the right intent, just didn't quite execute it properly for the KoM jersey. Time bonuses could help for a reasonable GC finish, but a long way to go.
It'd be nice to see more screenshots of the key later parts of the stage in future reports

I'm starting to think Betancourt's million euro banana diet was not a good idea.

Cool to see Juul-Jensen take the stage win but very odd to see Omarsson attack with Gautier in the chasing group.
Nevertheless this should only have minor effects on the final GC so it's cool to see the Icelandic Champions jersey shown so well.

Yes I know - was some missed SC in the report, sometimes get a miss-hit, but in this case some critical ones.

Good agressive racing by Pavarin early on and Barbin on the final hill. He forced the action and is in a good position GC wise now. Shame he had nothing left for the sprint.
Hoping Pavarin can get in the break on of the later stages.

Nice one BBL, happy to see Flügel in the first group after being a bit late to react to the action.

Congrats BBL! My one hope for this season was that my leaders would *at least* stay on their bikes. First race we actually have a decent opportunity to score and A.A falls over on the first bloody stage. I hope this isn't going to be a waste of race days.
Thanks for the report!

great! Navardauskas and Bazhkou missing the split on this type of stage? wow? Quevedo clearly heavily injured & Mansilla not sprinting in a horribly weak field

From my ever Aussieish point of view, I would like to see Ewan take a stage.
Well, thanks for that

Just need 5 more stages of this please.
The youngsters working well on the front for most of the day, before the more experienced captains step in at to finish it off. Hardly an easy win, but who cares. Caleb announces his return to the PCT, plenty more to come from him.

Manarelli not sprinting, great. At least Betancourt was in the front group.

Would have liked to see us in the break, but at least safely through the stage. Nice to see the little Aussie take the win - congrats TMM

While these flat stages doesn't suit us I just wanted to thank you for mentioning even those that failed to get in the break. It's nice to know that they tried at least.

What was that leadout all about? Did someone take a dump off camera so we all had to stop racing
Soooo close to our first win, congratulations TMM.
Great to see our flat duo Irvine and Mehr-Wenige getting Cav in a good position and Kreder doing his best to leadout, if I could have hired a better flat leadout man I reckon Cav could have won it.
Hope we can go one better in the remaining stages.

Kinda suspected Ranneries wouldn't sprint once I saw that the stage was getting hard, but also because we have to control the front now as the yellow jersey. That's fine. All in for Juul-Jensen's GC on stage 3. Hope we can stay somewhat near the top.

Well, we got in the break, so I can't complain, Stachowiak especially being the guy is important to me. Sobota not sprinting is a shame, but not entirely unexpected.
Thank you very much for the report Tamijo, really well-written and descriptive!

Maksimov is one stubborn dude. Just find somebody's slipstream! You don't have to show how strong you are by going solo into the wind for as long as possible. That's a winnable stage if Maksimov positioned himself better.
