I do not expect to see Kupfernagel keep the yellow after the second stage, moreover after the fall. The team did a great job to bring him back to the peloton.
This turns out to be a good stage for us
Prio has had very little luck lately with Avelino and Machado to be lower than expected, so I think this victory is more than deserved... Congrats Gustavovskiy

Happy to see our guys in the chase the final kilometres. Would've been a real letdown to lose time to the group of contenders. Nonetheless a well-deserved victory for Prio - Porto.

I 'fear' I might win this race without winning a stage, missing my goal that way, and getting the opposite of last year where I had a win GC goal and only won a stage...
Would an awesome thing to win this home race though, even when it's with a Kazakh rider rather than a Ukrainian guy, but who would ever complain? Come on Nepo, do the same thing you did last year!

Well done Boom. You alone did well. A top 5 or at least 6th should be possible now.
Thurau awful race. Villella as well. Being dropped by far weaker riders. Also no breakaway appearance.
Really pleasured though that Boom made it into the selection even though he could not match similar riders like Koren. |

Koren does extraordinary well for Gazelle these days. It's strange, since he sat up in the bunch here last year, despite being my best puncheur in this race. And now he saves Gazelle's a** after Kangert went down prior to the climb. Pretty awesome stuff and Gazelle just keeps rolling, it seems.
Congrats to knouckout for a huge ride from LLS.

Yeah. Koren is doing well indeed.
LLS as well, which is nice to see.
Not sure if Nepo is favorite now, fjoekje. I think those 46s could be to LLS favour. It's a long one though. So let's see. |

White jersey secured unless a completely random TT for Boily, and 7th should be the absolute minimum in the GC now even with a horrible TT.
That's okay, nothing more, nothing less. These were kinda spare race days after all.
I wonder how much Gazelle pays the reporters to always have an overperforming rider in every single race....and don't tell me it's because of depth because we have that too and I don't see it ever work like this for us.
Regarding depth, a good showing for minor placings from us, although all but Bol and Bevin will fall down very far in the TT, so it's likely that no actual points gain will come from that.

Wow, massive gaps. Happy with Meyer, but very disapointed with the rest of the team. Especially Juul-Jensen should have done much better.

I love how aggressive LLS rides so far for me. Initiates the attacks in Bayern and wins the stage. Tries to go solo in Strade Bianchi. Initiates the attacks here and wins the stage... Awesome!
Let's hope he has improved his TT skills since Bayern.
But this race is dar from over with a long TT still to come.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Sinkewitz has just given up and Stachowiak is chasing KOM points. I think Sobota is our only real chance at a stage win.

Ouch, that was a bad moment to fall. Feel bad for Kangert. Considering the circumstances he did quite well actually, but his top 5 hopes are shattered of course.
Luckily Koren saves the day once again. What a rider! Really glad you sold him to me tsmoha, thanks.
Impressive win by LLS! No one came close to stopping him. Congrats knockout.
Also great to see Gazelle legend Weening has still not lost his appetite for going on the offensive. Bringing home the mountain jersey would be a very nice bonus.
So let's look at tomorrow: massive TT coming up. Koren should be able to enter the top 5 in GC, which is great.
Kangert has to make up a lot of time to be able to break the top 10, but a lot is possible in 45 kilometers of going solo against the clock. If he finds his form, he might just make it.

Can't complain about this stage really. I'm amazed to see Costa riding so well at last. It would be outstanding to see him achieve the top spot of the podium, and reaching our first season goal, but both LLS and Neposomething have very good chances as well. They're all pretty similar in TT ability so it could go any way.
Bad stage for the african teams. Bibby with his injury and Craven with his bad form were the day's lows. Felt bad for Gazelle too, but Koren almost made it even for them.
Loved the report tsmoha. Can't wait for tomorrow!

Top race great that we have two guaranteed top 11 unless like bellis loses 5 min then he could drop slightly but still awesome really happy with how the 2 have performed here leading the teams is just the icing on the cake of our first good performance of the year. |

William Walker our best man here, how did that happen?
It will be really tight after the TT, might come down to the daily form of Nepo and LLS |

Must have been a stunning ride by the leading dozen (Kangert was great regarding the unlucky circumstances). We're within our means, Hollenstein in promising shape. Hope he'll be strong enough to defend the top15 spot, though he needs to let at least Olivera pass.

Well this was a bit weaker than expected. Missing next two in GC by done seconds only.
Dumoulin with an horrible tt. Two hill stages shouldn't have such high impact imo. Kelderman beating Dumoulin though shows that they have in PCM.
In total about what I expected. At least when Groenewegen podiums in the final stage after a weak stage 1 result.
Though I expect a breakaway tomorrow unfortunately... |

Jesus christ, that was a shitty TT from Meyer. Wow... He should have been on Boily's level, instead he's riding like Bellis. Huge disapointment.

Same problem as Dumoulin 78TT.
As said above, those kind of time trialists only without hill stat, won`t do anything valuable in TT`s after hilly/mountaineous stages.
One reason why LLS was stronger than others. Less energy needed on hilly stages -> more Green bar left -> better TT. |
