Tour de France Discussion

Another nice performance by Morton after all. Finishing on the stage podium is always a good thing for him and gaining time on Sicard is a nice bonus, too. If he keeps on riding like this and avoids a bad day, he's well on track for his second GT podium with us.

Been following the TDF more closely than I do most PT races since it is the TDF. Have to say awesome work from Cunego (you going to run a team next year?).

I thought the image below was a perfectly composed screen shot and a a testament to the beauty of the graphics in the game. If you haven't looked at it full size you should.

There is really nothing that looks "wrong" about it - the bikes and riders are all perfectly captured, the shadows look real, you can see thinking for each of the 3 groups of riders. I have bashed Cyanide for the AI but I have to give them credit for creating a game that can be truly beautiful that is capable of capturing the romance of the sport.

Ok that is my philosophical post for the year. On a more practical level I also like this image because it shows Denifil and my personal favorite PT team, Spar, making the race once again.

That's a great shot indeed. I have been feeling the same thrill of watching crucial moments in the real TdF while following this Tour.

And Denifl has definitely been a major contributor to the mountain stage fireworks so far.

Likewise, I'm really enjoying these reports, really makes me want to take part in one of these... Maybe next year Wink

Sicard losing time now sucks a little, was rooting for him and his aggressive riding but it seems he may be paying for it now, Denifl seems to be the new underdog to root for! Smile

Our team took a "rest" day yesterday, which is great because we really need all of our energy the next two stages!

Hopefully we get in the breakaway or otherwise the team is going to support Samolenkov/Chernetskiy depending on how the stages will evolve.

I'm still a bit hesitant after my failed previous attempt, but I think that I'd like to give it another try, so an application might be due when the time comes. It does feel like the logical step Smile

That's a very nice compliment, thank you! I agree with both of you, the game really has some beautiful scenery and graphics. And I think the racing holds up, too. Not perfect by any means, but decently well. It's going to be an exciting final few days as well Wink

Of course you should go for a team...

Another bad day for Sicard. Very worrying...

Ouch, someone's definately not going to like this...

I would have preferred Stauff scoring a bit more points here, but I guess it's OK. He did well, and now we'll just have to wait for him to leave the race. I can't see him making it until the very end. So it's all in for Lecuisinier now.

I do suspect, however, that Sicard will move up the GC in the upcoming stage - hopefully Lecuisinier doesn't mess up again as we really need to stay attentive.

Hopefully the easy day we needed to be prepared for the stages. Good sprint by Norman Hansen, would be cool if he could survive to Paris and get a good result there.

Summerhill never in doubt. Good to have Okba up the front, but a shame he couldn’t manage to podium as he can actually sprint a bit. Oh well, we’ve been in some ridiculous number of breaks so far and hopefully Brenes wit a day of rest can get up the road and defend that lovely spotted jersey of his tomorrow!

Thanks for the report too!

Nice solo win by Summerhill.

Tomorrow might be a tricky stage. Glad most of our support team could recover a bit today. Demare and Sicard are the favorites for the stage I think.

The unwanted win behind a break. Pfft

At least something. Not ideal for sprinter teams here to relax after hard mountain stages.

Congrats to Andorra for this wildcard win.

Ideally we would have sent Eislers into the break but i dont have many other strong options for the break on a stage like this and sending a sprinter into such a break is a rare AI move so i cant say that i expected more from this stage.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

A french sprinter to a french team... Sure, why not...

Herklotz is unbeatable anyway, so I can live with him taking another jump Smile

Thanks guys for the congratz guys! This is exactly what I had in mind bringing over Summerhill, big powerhouse that suits for breakaways and I was just waiting, we've got our stage win, too bad there's no points awarded Smile But now to focus on GC

Kind of expected to see the breakaway succeed, that's the way this season is playing out. Very happy to have an alert Vangstad up front. Looking at what kind of energy he seemed to have left for the final kilometers, 5th place was probably the best we could get.

Congratulations, Andorra! The wildcard teams surely knows how to put their stamp on this race Smile

Another great ride by our team, too bad we couldn't finish it with a win (I think Kolesnikov had to spend too much energy to get in the break), tomorrow another chance.
