This has a big Bewley-fail written all over it. Such a big favourite for everyone, he won't win to everyones surprise for sure.

I love cobble races so it saddens me that we enter our second season in a row with an underwhelming cobble division. Improving it will definitely be our main priority for next year's transfer period. But for now all we can do is hope Veelers manages to hang on to a decently placed group and use his quick sprint to score an ok amount of points.
If he doesn't have an off-day, fall or puncture I doubt anyone will be able to drop Bewley before the final sprint. And we know what happens if you take Bewley to the final sprint.

Looking forward to the kick-off of the cobbled races with the return of the traditional double race weekend in the PT. Expecting Bewley to have a brilliant season as always, but have bet against him here!
Great interest in how broken up peleton cobbled racing produces in PCM15 with MG database. First look at the steroid version of GVA, Sumerhill's off-season boost and sprinkling of newly maxed cobblers - lots to look out for .

Fair enough to finish behind the Kiwi and GVA. Nice to see our team capable of controlling a race like this, even though it means less points behind BBurghardt. But I wwon't complain, Burghardt did well and so did his lads. Thanks for the rreport!

Absolutely superb race for me. Sam was clearly the strongest man of the race considering he had absolutely no problem to beat GVA in a sprint from the first position and after such a big effort during the race, encouraging show. And well - even my domestiques were able to achieve some really decent results: 20th, 22nd, 25th and 28th places, especially great for the rankings.
Big thanks for the report!

What a shame that Blythe couldn't follow the last acceleration, but he at least salvaged a good result in the group behind.
A decent job by Daniel and another couple riders in the Top 50 mean good points which we need against the likes of Aegon and BPost (the latter really didn't have a good race here for their capabilities).
Thanks for the report the_hoyle, I wished there was a shot of the group sprint for 5th, but apart from that good job!
Congrats to Roman, who else but Bewley.

Pay me out my all-in on Bewley! In time for a KBK bet.
No-Show by my team. Boom as 36th within expected range, while Nooytens as 6th best only from my team being 100th is disappointing. No single show by anybody neither break nor mid-stage. Had hoped for a bit more.
Good to see Vanmarcke up there for Vesuvio. A bit of training and he now is a potential top10 rider in those classics. |

7th in our first World Tour race, quite happy with that! A shame we don't get the points though
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

in my eyes an absolutely stunning report, especially with the race situations explained...
Bewley one class above the others, congrats Roman!
Pretty much a race as predicted (resultwise), we didn´t had that too often this MG season...hopefully the CT cobbled 1-day races work the same way...

Nice to see Spanish champion in TV break. Unfortunately that was only positive from my team
Thanks for report and congrats to Roman, Bewley clearly played cat and mouse game with other competitors today.

Had bigger hopes, but seems like Trentin just wasn't capable of following the best when the selection was made. Not too shabby in the end though, with Wisniowski following good up with a 15th place.
Got to feel a bit for Aker, another poor display from Kristoff here. A better chance for him and our riders in K-B-K, which hopefully turns out less selective.
Big congrats to Roman. Dominant performance from Bewley, and he secured my bet as well Thanks to the_hoyle for a quality report.

Quality thing hoyle, thanks! No surprise in Bewley, the guy everybody says to win, wins.. like most, I bet my money on him Gratz roman. Also nice debut for GVA under Evonik flag.

Great race, great report and great result by Van Avermaet.
Don't mind being beaten by Bewley as long as he is the only one
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Sorry to Avin and Count - I disagree about the GvA negativity. I find it welcome that we have another cobbler to challenge the top table and he certainly was not gifted to Evonik, they had to pay top dollar for him.
I do understand the continuity thing but sometimes the MG database seems too static with long term managers hoarding better riders and everyone predicting the top table for the next 5 years.
I still think 1 mill was too much for GvA - he will need to podium/win a few of these cobbled races to pay his worth and in a couple of years he becomes less useful.
When planning my team a year or two ago I made the decision to keep Vanspeybrouck on the basis that he would be one of the top 5 cobbled riders on paper in coming years with a little training, given that he is a bit younger than others. The addition of a new rider who is instantly better than him completely ruined that.
Not even a top ten here, we may be going down if that does not improve quickly.
Thanks for the report. I would maybe have liked a little more tension after the selection was made, as you just sort of jumped to the finish line. Other than that great job.

Great race, and a great report aswell!
Hoped to see some action here and happy that the riders listened. Of course nothing to do with invicible Bewley here, congratz Roman!
Nice to see the second strongest cobblist deliver aswell (Imo) in GVA.

Totally forgot to check in on this before the race, was a tough day for Summerhill, sure he got a decent result but I think being caught out in the first split really hurt him, causing him to use up more energy than needed which is vital to these races. Grats to the always dominant Bewley for the win, seriously does anyone have a career win counter on this guy? Is he over 100 yet...
