sgdanny, I'm very offended that you neglected to mention The Hoff as a stage hunter and a GC favourite. Clearly you never saw the 2014 Tour of South Africa [MG] No worries though, Nolan tends to do better he's the underdog.
I think it's time for Craven to put in a massive performance, as it's probably the last chance he'll get to win a big race since his stats will take a knock at the end of the season. He's got a solid team to support him, so we're aiming really high. Besides, we really need a good haul of points to slot into the PCT top 15.

Rooting for Puma and Gazelle here. Their lineups looks really impressive in terms of depth for the race.

Apart from two of our three most sucessful breakaway riders (Patrick Lane and Simon Pellaud) we haven't much to offer. Marcel Wyss is designated to take the lead, but we don't expect him to achieve top results in a race packed with talented punchers. May have recognized one or two stages where Oscar Gatto can shine as he seems to be in much better shape than the first half of the season.

Well I went with Bibby here last year and he got outgunned by the specialist puncheurs, and this year the route probably suits puncheurs all the more. So hopefully Dowsett can at least do something, but am not exactly expecting it based on usual performances!

Our objective here is clear: outscore Aegon and Bpost. Luckily they don't have GC favorites. But still, guys like Cornu, Groenewegen, Boeckmans and Boom could rake in quite some points, so I need Kangert to deliver.
Really hope the AI recognizes that he's by far my best bet for GC and makes him go with the favorites in stage 1. If he manages to stay with the best there, he actually has a shot at grabbing yellow in stage 3. And after that we'd definitely have the hilly depth to support him.
It will be hard though, because there's actually a load of puncheurs here who are quite a bit stronger than Kangert.
I expect the usual suspect LLS and the finally awoken Costa to battle for the win.

Well, indeed weird gaps. Obviously the gene_gaps were set to 1 instead those usual 7/10! Wonder if that happened accidently?
Roy though... He should try CT level next year.

I hope there won't be a re-run because of the gaps setting...would totally fit our season if this result doesn't count.
If that was all s.t. as it should have been, I would've been really disappointed as I guess Kelderman was only 100 metres away from winning that stage (same for Demare making it a 1-2 ), but this way he actually gained more time on the other puncheurs than the potential bonus seconds would've given him.
Demare up there is great for his shot at the points jersey, but unless he wins at least one flat stage, I guess Kelderman has better chances there.
It's also a nice start in the U25 and team classifications.

Good to see Chaoufi getting involved in the mountain competition and a with 2nd place from the break.
Not sure about the gaps though. Clearly had a huge impact on the result so I fear it might need looking into. |

Puusepp, woah. Will have to reconsider him now, good win.
And McCarthy doing fairly well, shame he lost time to Kelderman, but it's only 10 seconds. All left to fight for for him.

That are some surprising gaps. Will we see similar in the remaining stages?
I was pessimistic about Geschke's chances here and he immediately delivers as hoped in my most optimistic dreams by finishing 8th (a.k.a. 1 point for the rankings)!
LLS okay. 20s on Wilco hurts but that is completely within the TT reach. McCarthy ( & Klemme ) with 7 seconds which is fully okay and Costa s.t. of course as well. Few seconds on vdH, Kangert and Ben Nasser also ofc appreciated.
Strong performance by Bekmanis to stay up there as well.
Roy

Poor first stage. The AI was really weird there. The favourites only partially turned active inside the last kilometre. The gaps look quite innocent with so many hilly stages to contest, but I hope the racing becomes more interesting.

I agree, seriously 1" gaps on that sort of stage are just weird. I also imagine that it may have affected the AI somehow.
Zingle in an okay position now, but Cornu losing that much time is just annoying.

You mean you disagree, right?
I think we need a rerun. The first 67 riders were clearly all together, so those gaps are extremely harsh on most of them. And I guess all stages will be like this if we continue?

Oh yeah! I blame not having my morning coffee before I posted that. I think it should be re-run.
