When you think the AI can't get worse ... game over. Forget about a decent GC fight. Del Nero and Stachowiak on for a ton of lucky points.
It seems if it's a hill stage on stage 1, that is a guaranteed breakaway. (Or just any hill stage all race, it seems)

Seriously???? At least it was a small break, but fascinating how the bunch manage to lose time after they start chasing..

Just realised that Del Nero is rated 71 hill, compared to Stachowiak being 75. I know it probably won't work out, but this does look good.

Soo bellis wins a bunch sprint and nothing the chase doesn't even make sense as Reus and Van Poppel should of been chasing with 79 and 76 flat even against Del Nero they should have made some ground on the break |

At least this means Impey could manage a decent GC, if he can win one of the flat stages. Still, Del Nero and Stachowiak seem nailed on to win the race now, really disappointing for all the guys with favourites. |

I understand that crosswinds make chasing difficult. But they should never lead to a single, spent rider going faster than the peloton.
I'm pretty happy 4 C1 race days couldn't be fitted into Kelderman's and/or Demare's planning.

AI totally bugging out again. Disappointing. Hope the other stages make more sense.
Also bad sprint by Pozzato.

WTF ---- Dieter Mehr-Wenige finishes 57th on this easy stage.
Wake up and quickly or you will be riding in the CT next season.

Another poor stage. Docker looked like he was in a good position, but never close to doing something. Only two stages left to do something here now...
Very nice to see the other Scandinavian teams doing so well here, congrats to both Swedbank and Netia.

So Ben Nasser is here as Impey's leadout... why PCM?
Our train was really badly positioned, so no surprise Impey could only finish fifth. This race is looking like another failure for us.
Now, please get someone in the break tomorrow! |

Sad to see the race podium almost booked after the opening stage, but curious how the battle for the next best will end.
Other than that my guys are confirming their seasons so far.
Simon Pellaud = Amazing
Oscar Gatto = Denial of a sprinter

Good to see the peleton battling it out this time. Definitely an improvement to weird stage one.
Good to see Willwohl trying it. Always worth an attempt.
But who told me that Geschke would be a useful rider for PCT? He does bullshit all season long :/
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Amazing leadout train. That is seriously PT-worthy. Reimer and Vedel Kvist are amazing

Bad stage, but it's already better than expected. Please PCM AI let Stachowiak attack tomorrow, please!
Thanks for the report though tsmoha.

I almost started celebrating when I saw that Haas was in the break, brilliant ride from him, edging so close to a potential GC-win as well.
It's always good to be on right side of the break, and even though this time it was a smaller gap and a larger break, it's getting a bit much, really.
A shame that Juul-Jensen decided to play around 150th place on the last stage, since there hasn't been any gaps between the favourites (except Hugenhaben). The last stage should fit both Meyer and Docker, hopefully they can work something out.
Congrats to Karcher and Akzonbel! I think most of the Scandinavian teams have had their share of success in this race now (sorry bbl ).
