Nice report Roturn, the customary high standard maintained.
Overall a good first stage for Nutresa with Kolobnev in 2nd, and 3 others in the d front group. Perhaps a minor annoyance that Masuda managed to get dropped in the finale, bad positioning I assume given stronger than many riders that hung on to the reduced front group.
With Kolobnev, Beltran, Valecia and Golas all in touch, 3 more stages to work towards our sponsors WIN GOAL. Yes that's right, the reason we have such a strong turn out for a potentially run-of-the-mill C2 race is that Rwanda has been targetted since the pre-season. Fingers crossed no AI oddities and our lead duo of Kolobnev and Beltran can fight it out toe-to-toe with the pther main contenders. We also have Haedo and Caethoven for stage 2 and 3, so interest in every stge (hopefully!).

Well Ochoa got in the break which is pretty much all we can ask for with the squad we've sent here. Hopefully the AI will try and have us target the KoM throughout the race.

Very selective first stage. I didn't expected such a small group to get to the finish. At least some riders like Saramotins should have survived this stage. Now, looking forward to the next stages in the hope that i will see my guys in the breaks as only Bissinger finished in the first group.

Wyss carrying on his great form for Vontobel, congrats to Margh Norway.
Thanks, FroomeDog! Took us (despite the good season so far) 50 race days to celebrate our first stage victory.
Guess high pace and heat came in useful for Marcel. Thanks to his outstanding physical conditions he seemed to be the one with the most left in the tank.
Will get a nice proof of strengh for our team to carry yellow over to the final stage.

Yay! So happy with that win! Nice to see our guys winning in Africa. Hopefully Rangel can continue with his good. It was also a pretty nice lead out from Day, just as I was hoping for!

Great sprint of Dupont. Very good positioned and a nice finish acceleration and in the end the podium which is great for Evonik. Please do the same on the next stage

Glad to see whole Nutresa team being so attentive throughout the stage. Hopefully we can maintain the same concentration through the next 2 days. (Think is Golas' first points of the season for 4th, so good for him to finally get off the mark - just the sort of stage / result he was signed for).

I hoped for more after Duponts podium on stage two as 21th is way below our expectations. Good news is that Bissinger is still in a good GC position. I hope to see him in a mid stage attack on the fourth stage.

Nice to see we kept the lead,... even by the smallest of all margins.
As expected last stages victor (most likely) will win the tour. Waiting for an exciting battle up to Nyamagabe.

Somewhat disapointed with Sutton's performance/the help he recieved. Bugge on the other hand with a new brilliant performance, though I hoped for a better result in the end, but Wyss looked immensly strong in the end.

Was an awesome race for us!
Marcel Wyss with another stunning performance. He has now more ranking points than the rest of our team combined. Guess I have to raise his wage.
Thanks roturn, great reports!

Nice to see Vosekalns getting into the BotD. Hoped for that earlier on but at least once in 4 stages.
But on the other side it is nice to see that the AI manage to bring them..

Great to see Kulhavi finally delivering! great that he tried to attack the yellow jersey, Eventhough it couldnt last all the way. Now 3 different riders from my team has been on the podium on a stage race, which is just awesome! 3th and 6th GC is just way over my expectations and Jumabekov aswell glad to see him finally stepping up game his aswell.

Got a small return here, but not too bad. Kudus getting the KoM is quite nice. Could be important towards our Africa tour goal. Thanks for the good reports roturn. |
