Ewan doing alright. Not much action from BLK jersey riders on that stage and i don't predict much action from them on the reamining stages either...

Ouch, Grosu injured really hurt this team. Räim did well trying to sprint for himself, but it's obvious he's not good enough.
Campos attacking. Why on earth would you, as a climber, attack on the only flat stage between all those mountain stages?

Ohh heartbraking final for the Project: Africa guy there, but I reckon it would have been even worse to see Skjerping losing it, congrats Aker-Risa
Zabel could have made it 3, tense battle for the Points jersey atm but we've run out of flat stages as it seems so Lecuisinier seems a more logical contender really.

A fun stage to watch with battles on two fronts. Lecuisinier again caught out by Morton, Shikai and this time Oliver, but again doing a good job at recovering. It felt like the other 3 had a real opportunity to punish Lecuisinier, but blew it. Time will tell how costly that is, when I play and report the TT tomorrow.
Inevitable that Hadi would slip down from his breakaway-gained 11th, but still clinging on to the Top 20 is nice. Eyob into the Top 25 now too, but Heymes just too relaxed.

Good stuff from Morton again, but as SN said, you feel that he could have gotten more out of the day. Still looks good for him, but he needs to perform in that TT.

Great stage!
I feel a little sorry for Sauber with Kung though...
Our riders finished so I'll take that, but they are running out of break chances (today wsn't the day though )
Thanks for the report SN!

Meh. Herklotz losing a big shot at a Top 5 overall with that break despite doing great himself, and Festina fucked up these tactics big time, not even the stage win makes up for that.

Let's pretend Evonik is racing here.
Let's pretend Evonik signed the likes of Exner or Buchmann specificly for this one race. What a waste that would be! :U

Great ride by Kung. Almost like last year where a stage second got him into the top 10. Expect Team Strava to be active the final days.

Olivier really with another top performance. Seeing that he is the rider with lowest climbing support of the top4, he is doing even better.
Unfortunately the long ITT will favour Shikai more, so podium is difficult to reach. |

God damn it Maxime, let your brother Mathieu win! He is clearly more talented!
Hopefully Mathieu La Lavandier can hold on for a top 20 and Maxime drops out

Very enjoyable reports, thanks!
Shikai with a strong day, aswell as Shirota, and a podium is still possible, which is about all I can ask for at this point.

Good riding by Kolar! The gap to his next opponents in KoM competition looks already quite huge, he should be able to keep the jersey unless Hoelgaard has a superb last stage. Superb to see him moving up into the top 10 overall as well even it is almost impossible for him to keep that place all the way to the finish. Mathieu La Lavandier probably suffered a little bit from the fact his mate was in a breakaway, so hopefully he goes into the breakaway in the last stage now, the peloton should let him go. From overall point of view it looks good for Morton now.

Lecuisinier is really doing an ace job in making things difficult for himself. He is horrible from a tactical point of view. It seems as if we should be very happy to just get him on 2rd overall.
Vasyliv did great though, and brings us the first stagewin (Ever IIRC), and makes a great jump. My hopes was always that he could battle for a decent GC top 10, and now that seems possible as he isnt total shit at TT's either.

Well, the report is spot on: great ride from Haig, but still feels like Morton could have done more than that gap. But who knows his daily form?
Kind of a bummer for Haig dropping thanks to this dangerous break doing it's usual damage. Of course it ain't about Haig this year, but I somehow loved the idea that he will Top-10 the thing! Seems hard to achieve, as I expect another big break in the final stage.
Nuff talking... Let's all (!) hope for Morton to ride the TT of his life!

Decent stage from Galta looking at the favourites, which makes it kind of annoying to see him drop in the GC due to the breakaway. I guess his hopes of a top 10 is depending on the final stage and doing like Kudus just did, then who knows what can happen.
Congratulations to Festina on the stage win as well, whil Haig/Morton is bossing the overall. Well done also to Kolar, getting in the breakaway again and claiming important KoM points, which makes it look like that jersey is definitely out of reach for Hoelgaard.
Thanks for a very nice report, SN! |

Yes an enjoyable stage there on the double Alpe classic.
Lecuisener on the back foot again - which is surprising and Morton looking more and more confident. Quite pleased to see Aegon doing nicely with Olivier a team-mate of Edmondson

Decent climbing from Dzhus to stay in the top20, shame about the allowed breakaway, where many riders jumped over him in terms of GC.
Thanks for the great report SN and congrats to Festina, however i support Morton to hold his jersey till the end.

Nah, let's have some excitement into the final stage, by Lecuisinier getting the gap down to less than 30 seconds
