The PCT season starts with a HC event directly. The Down Under Classic goes into its 8th edition. Only 75km of length and pan flat making it a special race which is usually ridden on high speed non-stop. Most of top PCT sprinters are here except a few, where the bands didn`t suit. But the sprint is GT worthy even.
| Flat | Sprint | Acc | Lo Cicero | 72 | 84 | 78 | Avelino | 71 | 83 | 78 | Van Heerden | 73 | 82 | 73 | Vantomme | 73 | 82 | 78 | Vanderbiest | 74 | 82 | 77 | Appollonio | 74 | 81 | 78 | Zabel | 74 | 81 | 79 | Vanoverschelde | 72 | 80 | 75 | Impey | 74 | 80 | 81 | Bouhanni | 74 | 80 | 77 | Kupfernagel | 74 | 80 | 80 | Van Asbroeck | 75 | 80 | 78 | Ulanowski | 73 | 80 | 77 | Petit | 76 | 79 | 78 | Matthews | 75 | 79 | 79 | Santos | 71 | 79 | 75 | Pelucchi | 74 | 79 | 77 | Coutinho | 72 | 79 | 80 | Boivin | 74 | 79 | 80 | Richeze | 72 | 79 | 77 | Van der Sande | 75 | 79 | 79 |
So many similar strong riders and hence it`s also a big questionmark, which teams for a train. Strongest duo probably Impey/Van Heerden for Eritel.
2014 winner Danilo Kupfernagel is already in this list and might once again go for it. Though Lo Cicero, Avelino, Vantomme, Vanderbiest, Eritel duo, Appollonio, Zabel and all the others also want the top spot.
Last year saw a weird finish where the roleur did decide it. Dzamastagic won ahead of Baugnies. Both are at the start again. First actually being one of the top riders by the participating PT teams.
So couple more names must be mentioned next to the sprinters:
| Flat | Sprint | Ji | 80 | 67 | Kneisky | 79 | 67 | Dzamastagic | 78 | 76 | Stoltz | 78 | 60 | Feng | 78 | 60 | Vanbilsen | 78 | 72 | Baugnies | 78 | 65 | Verbist | 77 | 58 | Horton | 76 | 76 | Canelon | 75 | 76 |

And so it begins...
On paper, Petit should be able to fight for a top 10 here, and at least finish in the top 15. Interesting to see that we're 6th on the startlist though, gives me hope that PCM will smile on Petit's support stats, and ignore the fact that I haven't sent a single maxed rider here apart from him |

Watch out PCT managers, Metinvest is here with incredibly mighty squad led by 77 sprinter! (we dont want to be in this race, but we are forced to race PCT races by MGUCI, with our third tier riders).
Good luck to all, may the best one win!

I think the sprintfest is always an interesting one to watch for all teams who have a sprint interest it rather exposes whose sprint train looks like it works, how big an influence is ACC etc.
Here roturn is racing it so in tribute to him is going to be Vantomme as my predo.

On paper Vantomme is the third best sprinter and if he can podium here, he can podium in any sprint.
Aiming for a podium but would be happy with a top 5 given the field.
Great to see the season start!

Dzamastagic to defend his victory from last season!!!
Last edition of this race is the absolute highlight in my team's history with Smukulis also finishing top 5 and Boonen 8th (?) Next to Dzamastagic winning.
Dzamastagic and Smukulis are here again with Stoltz as well here and I would be disappointed if none of them would try something.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Awesome to see the season getting underway. Slightly regretting not selecting this band now that we have Guerao but we didn't really plan for getting a good sprinter in the transfer season. Nevertheless will be interesting to see who comes out of the blocks the fastest this season and how the sprinter field is stacking up.

Great too see real season starting. And so many great sprinters with bad acc really depend on a great leadout/final wheel then.
Can't decide the winner, but think its gonna be a surprise one like last year. Really comes down to whoever saved enough energy for the finale and not purely the sprint stat in such a hectic race.

A race to follow closely, as it will tell how to expect similar races over the season. Hope it will be like last year, so everyone knows they can win a race like this Good to have the season back

Wonderful to get the season going with a race that could give me a lot of answers as to how much I should fear relegation...
A very strong field but seeing Lo Cicero doing so well in the European Championships has me hopeful that he'll bag us a good result to start on.

Maybe next season 80SPR PT riders should be allowed. We are pathetic fill teams.

Let's see after season.
In classics yes, more like fillers, in Stage races though might have a much bigger chance. So the total must be checked. |

Super excited about the season starting.
From all Australian races this was the one we had the least success so far. Davide Appollonio is acquired for the turnaround.
