After a debut season in style, scoring over 10 victories and finishing within the top 10 of the Continental Rankings, SanCor grabbed a unique opportunity. In season 2016, we will race in the PCT ranks. It's huge step up and it will require a special effort from all of us here at SanCor Headquarters.
Joining us in our quest are the same sponsors as last year. Riders like Richeze and Rodas made our sponsors happy plenty of times last year, and we had little difficulty prolonging the contracts with our sponsors. Increased funds are on their way, and we're already scouting the country for new Argentinian talent!
Main Sponsor
SanCor is thé leading Dairy producer in Argentina, with one fifth of the entire production in the country. SanCor sells different diary products, such as milk, cream, butter, yoghurt and cheese.
Minor Sponsors
Banco Ciudad de Buenos Aires is a publicly owned, municipal commercial bank. The bank sponsors the team financially, but will also provide financial advice. Last year, it saved us from bankruptcy following a financial hit we took. But we kicked back and are ready for more!
AerolÃneas Argentinas is Argentina's largest airline. There is no doubt the collaboration will include mutual benifits. With the increased globalisation, we'll be using their planes to get around the world faster, and safer.
Team Jersey
We decided to stay with our current jersey, and not change a thing. We do this because we're going for recognizability. SanCor has to become a concept. This jersey is our visualisation of that concept. It stands for our ideas, and so we'll keep it just as it is, as the people know us.
Jersey for Road Race Champion Walter Trillini and Time Trial Champion Laureano Rosas.
Jersey for Colombian Time Trial Champion Pedro Herrera.
Thanks to Jakstar22 for creating these jerseys.
Facing Facts
We are optimists here at SanCor. But we can't deny we're at some sort of crossroads. Our hopes are to increase our national focus and provide a safe haven for all Argentine riders who want to become professional cyclists. A 100% Argentine team is our goal, which we want to achieve, one day.
But reality is another thing. With a promotion to PCT and our duty to stay in the PCT league, we might have to start thinking broader. Attract race leaders from other nations. In the end, our Argentine boys don't have use for a team fighting at the bottom to make their career.
It's a choice we'll have to decide on. Sooner rather than later.
But we're confident in our staff.
Things are looking good.

Good luck Ian, hoping you get to stay in PCT another year! It will be hard I reckon, considering the amount of South American teams as well, but I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find some good leaders to add up to your excellent base!
Also great opening post.

Good luck this season! Nice to see your hitting some of the goals from last season already! Nice to see you are keeping the same jersey as last season.

Well done on getting the team to PCT: though by the skin of your teeth! After last season am I right in presuming Richeze won't be for sale?! |

trek: Thanks. That's the plan!
matt: It'll be tough, for sure. It's a challenge. Thanks a lot
marco: We'll need it! Won't be easy!
hoyle: Our first season was a success. Not many expected us to finish top 10 CT but we did!
rider: Richeze is the one who made us great this season, so I don't think we'll give him up willingly. Anything is possible but we like having him with him! |

As the new season draws nearer, tension rises. SanCor is about to take its first steps in the PCT league. SanCor manager doesn't underestimate the PCT scene: "We'll have a tough time adapting. It's a whole other playing field than the continental level. We'll need to up our game, attract some new riders, perhaps even foreign leaders".
Filling up one of the very last slots to promote to PCT, SanCor is considered one of the weakest PCT teams of next season. However, transfer season is not upon us yet and they might reinforce their squad to survive comfortably in the PCT.
The next few months will be essential to the team's survival in PCT. Let's hope their milk is kosher! |

I'm very interested in the changes that you intend to do. The argentinian market does not offer much to improve to a pct level so I'm pretty much clueless which way you are attempting to go this offseason.

Well, it's that time of the year again. Yet for us it's a new experience. Last year we did our best to build a strong, mostly Argentine squad. Now it's up to us to keep that squad together. We're fully in negotiations with our riders. Obviously we want to keep the most part of the squad together, as we're more and more like a family. However, we do want to enlarge our family, and we'll have to if we want to survive in the PCT.
This season will be at least as interesting as last year's. We've got our biggest challenges coming up and the guys will face even tougher opponents than they're used to. But together we can do anything.
Let the games begin! |

After finishing just one spot below you in the CT last year I'm looking forward to resuming our South American battle in the PCT, best of luck, - I'm sure we'll talk during the transfer season

Good news! We've managed to keep the ENTIRE team together for the upcoming season. After a rather successful first season, we will have to step up our game massively if we want to survive in the PCT. Our current team will be the backbone to that.
But we'll need some new blood, some strikers, who can get points on many different terrain. So the upcoming transfer season, we'll be looking to add some members to our little family. Perhaps Richeze's brother? Or how about Heado's brother? Add some real family to the family. Could be nice.
More news soon! |
