Just the one C2 stage race during September, the Herald Sun Tour, and that was joined by two C2HC classics: Acropolis and Yekaterinburg. In amongst that, some teams scores points at a C1 level in Plouay, Cyclistes and most notably, the Tour of America.
And it is there where Delaval briefly led the race, and enjoyed a great performance from Anacona. OTP had a great month as Julien Simon finally showed up for them with a win and a 3rd, while Boaro and Rolland teamed up nicely for Generali in Australia. Kruopis was the star of that race, helping Indosat along.
September:
1 | | DeLaval - Kiitokori | 205 | 2 | | OTP Bank - Slovnaft | 168 | 3 | | Generali - Kronenbourg 1664 | 154 | 4 | | Indosat - ANZ | 145 | 5 | | Fablok - Dunlop | 113 |
Compal-Merida remain the leaders, with Indosat now climbing to 2nd. But while their seasons are almost run, Novatek, Strava and Fablok have much racing to do - the Ruta America del Sur providing a great opportunity for either of them to stake a claim for the CT title.
Their American adventure does not improve their position, but Delaval now look much more safe in 6th. TomTom and Buff have joined Venchi in announcing their impending disbandments, which means we now know for sure that 8 teams will go up. Generali and Netia hold those last two positions, but In-n-Out remain close having slipped below both of them this month - and Netia do look vulnerable.
There are other inactive looking teams in PT/PCT though, so more than 8 teams may still promote. Regardless of that or not, making the Top 10 is still a key achievement and it's close there. Sancor return to the Top 10 thanks to a strong Richeze in Plouay, but Alpina are just 10 behind, and Severstal have now finally notched up a 2nd race win of the season - the 1st being on the opening day.
Carlsberg and Lierse are holding on to their Top 15 spots ahead of Chiquita, with OTP now moving up 2 positions as Simon senses that contract time is near. The only other movement sees Fox slip below Fred Whitton. Team Type 1 remain bottom, and Elta need not worry, as TT1's season is almost done.
| | | Team | Total | RD | PpRD | 1 | 1 | | Compal-Merida | 1463 | 115 | 12.72 | 2 | 5 | | Indosat - ANZ | 1420 | 117 | 12.14 | 3 | 2 | | Novatek-Panarmenian.net | 1400 | 107 | 13.08 | 4 | 3 | | Strava | 1388 | 109 | 12.73 | 5 | 4 | | Fablok - Dunlop | 1351 | 107 | 12.63 | 6 | 6 | | DeLaval - Kiitokori | 1251 | 112 | 11.17 | 7 | 8 | | Generali - Kronenbourg 1664 | 1143 | 106 | 10.78 | 8 | 9 | | Netia - Norske Skog | 1113 | 117 | 9.51 | 9 | 7 | | In-n-Out Cycling Team Powered By Carrefour | 1089 | 109 | 9.99 | 10 | 11 | | SanCor Cycling Team | 976 | 109 | 8.95 | 11 | 10 | | Alpina - Avianca | 966 | 110 | 8.78 | 12 | 14 | | Severstal-Mercator | 904 | 110 | 8.22 | 13 | 12 | | Actavis - DKSH | 898 | 113 | 7.95 | 14 | 13 | | Carlsberg - Danske Bank | 850 | 114 | 7.46 | 15 | 15 | | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo Cycling Team | 744 | 107 | 6.95 | 16 | 16 | | Chiquita - Universal p/b Minions | 703 | 112 | 6.28 | 17 | 19 | | OTP Bank - Slovnaft | 684 | 110 | 6.22 | 18 | 18 | | Gatorade - SIS | 654 | 112 | 5.84 | 19 | 17 | | Verkefnid Iceland | 640 | 112 | 5.71 | 20 | 20 | | Akzonobel - Statoil | 572 | 112 | 5.11 | 21 | 21 | | BelarusBank Pro Cycling | 542 | 107 | 5.07 | 22 | 22 | | Sodexo ProCycling | 430 | 107 | 4.02 | 23 | 24 | | Fred Whitton Race Team | 379 | 112 | 3.38 | 24 | 23 | | Fox Sports - Golomt Cycling | 376 | 112 | 3.36 | 25 | 25 | | Elta - Hellenic Post | 349 | 107 | 3.26 | 26 | 26 | | Team Type 1 | 299 | 118 | 2.53 |
It's been a little longer since the last Individual update, but still it is Lavoine leading a sprinter dominated top of the table. And now the Top 4 are all sprinters, as Kruopis has moved up, just ahead of top climber Anacona.
Recent classic wins for Mendes and Der take them to 17th and 21st, while the jump for Simon was over 100 places - now in 45th. Van Wyk is not quite up 100 after Cigar City, 99 spots to 120th instead.

These rankings are way too close for comfort, fight for the top spot will be hot till the last racing days. Hoping the best.

Top 15 and De Maar being a beast. I can't say I'm happy, but not disappointed.

Still win less and still near the bottom...Not a great opening season for Fox Sports - Golomt. Need a massive improvement in the last few races if we want to get a win this season!!

Please somebody from our team needs to win Metegate, it's our last race left but we have our best possible squad for the top 5 goal, this is going to get very close, as In-n-Out have 9 race days left. I'll need a lot of luck here if we want to promote.
At least our top ten rankings goal looks likely.
I should've just bought a sprinter...
And thanks for the update SN.

16th place at the moment and no sign of improvement. Ah well, third year in CT will hopefully be the charm...

Fantastic month for the team, and Simon managing to get into the top 50 after being in 160th us awesome as well. I still believe that we can get a good result at Zuri and perhaps a stage win or something like that at the Ruta America del sur. Come on lads lets get into the top 10
Thanks for the update SN |

That moment when you realize that Lavoine alone could have avoided the dirt at this point
Or when you realize you got the most RDs left, very nice.
Come on lads, let's take the top 6, it's unbelievable the utter bad luck we had lately with classics - think about Cigar City, Yekaterinburg - and how still we are 7th. Bring it on, DeLaval
Will be close for the title, nice to see our friends at Indosat in 2nd although they've almost ran out of race days. With a bit of luck it would be nice to see them hanging in for the podium. Still picking Novatek for the win, not sure what they have left though. Surely one of the surprises but I think no one expected such a dominance by the sprinters.
We on the other hand have still Faso for Taillefour which is an ideal race for us and him, a few chances in the classics and especially Ruta del Sol which has got a ITT IIRC. Thanks for the great update SN!

Promotion looks secure for us now, but that won't do it anymore. We'll need to perform well in all 3 final races. Faso will be hard to do well (breakaway luck? ), but Ruta America del Sur (Rabon/Serebriakov) and Züri-Metzgete (Rabon) are both excellent opportunities for us to score the needed points. Hopefully this will be enough to get us the title, but the performances lately have made me slightly more pessimistic.

It's amazing that top 10 CT is one of our goals and we've been fighting around that spot for a long time, now. It'll be exciting whether or not we'll hold on to it! |

Great month for us thanks to America.
Now really looking forward to America del Sur. Hopefully with Vastaranta finally in beast mode.

One of the worst months for us, I can't believe we're still on top. Now we need to find out how to use those last race days in a very good way and to our advantage. It will be tight!
Without Matthews we wouldn't have been up there so I'm glad he came in during the last part of transfers.
Thank you SN for both rankings. Looking forward to the few races left! |

Compal-Merida still leading, with a decent gap. Can they bring it home? If they can't do so, I blame the Giro del Trentino. Sorry, bjartne, but I still can't get that out of my mind.
If you want to promote, better get in the top 10! Finishing in that 10th place spot, contested between two South American teams, might be vital. |

Goddammit Acevedo why you fail so bad? And judging by the top of the individual standings Forero really should be mixing it up there with the other sprinters (same sprint stat as the top 3 riders in the individual standings and only marginally worse back-up stats) or at least doing something better than his current position.
All hinging on America del Sur and Zuri Metzgete. With Acevedo going to both races our performance will hinge on him. Please, please finally show us something worthy of your hill stat, I beseech you! Top 10 place and possible promotion is so near yet so far!
