Wow, Eg was so close to wearing the white jersey after the TTT. That's would have been really cool.
Phinney's in yellow though, and that's what matters for his role. Let's take it to Paris!

Great ride by Morton! Seems like he's one of the winners of moving to PCM 18 so far (or has just hugely benefited from his training).
A bit of a bummer for the home crowd though that Sicard has already lost his jersey - but with 4 riders less than a minute away from yellow, we'll surely have a great fight 
Really nice to read the reports, especially when not always having to ask yourself what result your team will get

I feel my team is aggressive here, and if I can get a rider in top 10 and one in top 15 that would be a great result for us. I hope Henao or Guldhammer will join some breaks later and climb well

These Tour reports are just amazing. Thank you for another one, cunego59! I love the details, the text parts and all the information you give, but also the variety in screenshots, using different angles to capture key moments. Very well done!
Also a very, very nice stage in general. Getting a big breakaway group, and then having the favourites race for both the stage victory and valuable gaps in the GC. Just great racing
For our Tour, it's another breakaway we're part of, which I enjoy a lot. Aasvold fought well to stay in contention for so long, also picking up some KoM points. Galta also with a solid stage, not more and not less, which is what I expect from him if he continues to race defensively. Fingers crossed he can turn it around in the final week!
Also big congratulations on the win, tsmoha! Very cool to see Morton, who you have invested a lot of money and seasons in, making such a statement  |

Thanks for these reports, they’re easily some of the best I’ve ever seen.
Invisible as per, glad they keep jumping in breaks. Still pretty cool to see an Indonesian team on the tour Brenes with enough time lost to now go for KOM and stage wins hopefully, otherwise we could be looking at a big fat 0 for this race. It’s always great to see Bennelong get up too, especially Morton. Congrats tsmoha!

Good to see Shalunov, Chernetskiy and Novikov in the break, but also good to see Kolesnikov not in the break saving energy since the first mountain stage of a Grand Tour rarely sees a breakaway rider win. If Novikov keeps on attacking like this a good GC might be possible, but the focus remains on stage win/KoM.
The next 5 stage should be interesting (flat/hill/hill/flat/flat), getting in the breakaway or supporting Samolenkov/Chernetskiy depending on how the stages will evolve.

This race is shaping up to be fantastic for us. Liepins with another second place stage result, Lopez and Vosekalns both defend their jerseys and Lopez gains time on a couple of top 15-25 guys. Kinda bullshit gap ther though.

From that position Groenewegen really should have won his first Tour de France stage...unfortunately the late 3rd tier sprinters did still have enough speed to go for it instead. Very unfortunate to drop down to 4th. Same for Demare etc. obviously, who likely should have finished higher.
Anyway, congrats to Tinkoff, Evonik etc. for those unexpected points from sprints.
And thanks for the reports. As others have said before, really high quality and like all those extra posts. |

Surprise result! Good day for Phinney and also for the green jersey, though Demaré is still the big favourite.
Some time loss for our other climbers, but will probably not matter much in the end.

Genuinely surprised he's that high up the Points ranking considering he's yet to contest a finish at all. But then again i am totally overlooking the GT's as a team and i had race days to waste, so there's no harm done or points lost elsewhere. Should have gone in for the WIN goal and sent Grashev the Mountain King!

Stage 6
Shoutout to the team for their big contribution to catching the break and making the stage selective. Especially Kangert seemed to be on fire. This allowed the strongest climbers to put some time into the slightly weaker climbers and score stage points.
Very satisfied that Madrazo managed to distance Sicard again, overtaking him in GC. There's a couple punchier stages coming up though, so he's still very much a rider to watch. Phinney was once again strong. If he can keep up this climbing form he's a main contender, especially while in yellow and with another TT coming up. He also has a team that can defend a yellow jersey.
Besides the more dynamic racing I also like that PCM18 has revived riders like Morton and Denifl. Great win by the former; congrats tsmoha! He and Dombrowski remain dangerous outsiders.
Shockingly unfortunate moment to get a mechanical for Schleck. Truly heartbreaking. Though this might set him up for some cool offensive rides.
I agree that the reporting has been top notch. The regular addition of the profile that shows where the riders currently are is very helpful.
Stage 7
Tier 2 sprinters timed it better than the favorites again. Samolenkov has been amazing so far.
That split caught the majority of our team, actually dropping us a couple minutes in the TC.
Glad atleast Madrazo was paying attention and that 74 FL rider Fejes was with him for protection.

Another day out in front! That's good to see, and well done from Pruus. Really hope we can put someone up front on stage 8. as that one looks like one for the breakaway, judging from the profile.

If Demare stays behind Stauff for just a little bit, he wins this... 
Petition to disable headwind just like we did with crashes.
35 points on Sicard and 59 on Phinney, dunno how to evaluate that yet.
A lot will depend on the amount of breakaway wins in the mountains compared to on the remaining flat stages.
At least Arndt gained significant time on some guys around him, for whatever reason.
We looked at stages 8 and 9 back during the route presentation and saw two additional chances for Demare to contest select group sprints if everything goes well. Stage 9 even more so than stage 8, I'd say.
Let's see if tomorrow's raced in a way that allows for him to keep up while not letting a breakaway take the win. The finale looks just about easy enough for HIL to matter more than MO, but everything from km40 to km160 could cost too much energy.
Although, interestingly, of course we would want the breakaway to win if Demare DOES get dropped.

Wow this is amazing: Samolenkov delivering Tinkoff's third Tour de France stage win! (Kunshin Stage 12 and Zakarin Stage 14 both in 2015)
Mission accomplished, but now that the winning mood is in our team we of course are going to ride with more confidence, which can maybe lead to even more spectacular results.

It's a shame Brambilla lost time there. And it wasn't that great of a sprint from Van Poppel either. Guess the only plus of the stage was that we are now closer to the first place in the team rankings.
Great touch with the first week recap and goal progress.

Hmm I would have hoped for Stauff to be better than 8th here, especially looking at his position there. I guess I can't really expect much better though as it was after a stage where he heavily fought for survival.
After the first week we'll have to conclude that Stauff did more than expected by getting that stage 1 win, but Lecuisinier isn't good enough. Not at all. He has lost significant time on every single stage where he could lose time except for one - where Sicard instead took significant time from his attack. The TTT went OK'ish, but the hill stage and the mountainstage saw him do pretty awful and all chances of him finishing in 5th seems to have vanished.
We will have to hope for Cataldo to give it a go on stage 8 to fight for the stage aswell as some KOM points. We have had the KOM jersey for quite some days in both the Giro and the Vuelta so it would be a fun trait to have aquired it for all three GT's
We have to accept that Vlatos is likely to drop out of the race before getting a shot at the TT, but if he somehow survived it will be interesting to see if he can do well of if the mountainstage prior to the TT will kill him off. If weather conditions change a lot through the stage he could have an advantage being the early starter.
The upcoming stages will go to either Demare or a breakaway rider I'll suspect, so it would be very nice to see our riders go at it. Lecuisinier should be able to survive with minimal help, but he has shown he won't get away to secure seconds/minutes on his rivals so I guess we'll have to be content with him in 7-8th and then hope he'll be strong later due to his good recovery stat...
