Expected more from Ciolek on a stage like that Rolling Eyes

I hope Beltran can survive the mountain and have a strong finish to salvage something from this race.

Congrats to Goss on another win here Smile

Good old Gossy doesn't disappoint!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Drapac showing he still has it! Maybe PCM18 will treat him very nicely.

I'm a God of prediction!
On a completely related note, what's the lowest number of points a PT team has ever scored? I want to get at least one positive note out of this season Wink

Also I'm already rationing the "wow that was bad", "what was that!" and general bad performance gifs, because boy will I need them a lot if we can't even perform in PTHC events!

Not our band, but obviously I'm highly anticipating stage 2 to get a first idea of where Herklotz might slot in in the power rankings this season on PCM18. I don't yet feel confident predicting the outcome.

The sprint didn't look too good yet again, with the splits at least justified by some wind this time (you're gonna love the random splits without any wind!), and the thinned down front group led to the symptomatic lack of leadouts that usually would keep the finishing order somewhat consistent with the sprint stat differences.

With that being said, I hope Demare can take advantage of exactly these kinds of situations where the strongest sprinters are actually at a disadvantage because of the AI. Smile
It's a dice roll who of the secondary sprinters get to be in the beneficial positions, but in between this and Qatar I'm confident that 82 sprint can be enough even on pan flat stages.

First stage sucked, hope Meintjes can at least make this a worthwhile journey here. Its going to be against the odds though...

Very passive stage, which doesn't suit Uran. 14th place is disappointing, he should've been top ten at least.

Thanks AbhishekLFC for the reports, knockout for posting them, and congratulations to Swisslion, winning in their first ever PTHC race!

Banana OMG!!! Shock He did it! Beltran actually won! What a beast! Cool Banana

It was always my thought that with that stage profile, downhill to recover and pure hill to the finish, there was a chance. But the passive ride up the mountain was perfect as he was clearly the strongest hill rider in the bunch Smile

As Marco said above our 1st PTHC win in our 1st PTHC race, it's what dreams are made of Pfft A fantastic boon to our PCT survival fight as Beltran indeed earns his wage Smile

Thanks to Abhishek for the fantastic report and for knockout's delivery Smile

Wow, that was horrendous.

I was told a lot of testing was done and the switch the PCM 18 would be beneficial...

Warbasse going in the break was nice I guess. Better than an anonymous 40th.

Quite a disappointing stage. Even more disappointing is Dombrowski's final GC placing. I guess Brambilla's result kind of makes up for it.

Thanks for the reports.

Congrats redordead!

I love to see Beltran winning this race. And while it's far too early to talk about the end of season rankings, this is definitely a huge step into the right direction for Swisslion in the battle against relegation.

And it's also a result I love to see as manager of MA Lopez Grin

Well, it always is beneficial to someone..

Boring stage, exciting sprint, surprising winner! Thanks Swisslion for taking away points. Smile
Seems like Herklotz and Arndt might've liked this one, but I'm glad we weren't part of that semi-lottery.

Also, may I point out these interesting time gaps? Did this stage use the TT format somehow, or was there a deliberate effort to put them as low as possible to avoid the sprint stage playing too big a role in the final GC?

Can I get a re-do for the start of our season? Not good enough from Tenorio.

Congrats to redordead on the win. Wink

I have to hope that the mountain stage doesn't come down to a sprint in the final kms, instead of the first climb being properly used. If it comes down to the first, it's almost wasted RD's for the team, having sent here basically everything we have for the mountains.

Let's hope for active racing in the mountain then, so Alarcon doesn't have to use his bad hill skills for the finish

Have to say this was one stage I kind of had my eye on when I said that will happen at some point in the season in the roundtable preview. Fingers crossed I'm wrong Grin

Happy to see Beltran take the win though, huge result for Swisslion, congrats redordead Grin Areruya in the break is nice, hope that's a sign of what's to come from him in 2019. Bennett meh, 19th is not totally awful, especially with Grmay a solid 22nd to back it up.

Well certainly. I mean, I wasn't competing either way. So I was just saying that it was boring from a neutral perspective.

At least this experiment of Kudus and Alarcon together is just a one-off, but omg that was horrendous.

And as Cio says, those 1-second time gap are quite weird, don't think it was intencional but... Rolling Eyes
