MG New Riders Suggestions [2019]
OlegTinkov
Well obviously Pavel Sivakov (ID 5501) needs a big stats update ->

*2nd in this year's Giro d'Italia Youth classification (9th overall) only 90 seconds behind López Miguel Ángel
*1st in the Tour of the Alps 2019, especially stage 2 was pretty impressive https://www.youtu...aBNk6vkg5I
*1st Giro Ciclistico della Valle d'Aosta Mont Blanc 2017
*1st Giro Ciclistico d'Italia 2017
*14th Tour de Suisse 2018
*1st Ronde de l'Isard 2017
*4th Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali 2018
*etc.

Would be great if someone else could do the stats/potential suggestions Wink this are his stats right now:

With the imminent decline of the biggest greek cycling star of the Man-Game, Georgos Tzortzakis, I believe it is time to atleast implement something remotely similar to keep the roleplay alive. For the past 2-3 years I have asked for the Bouglas-brothers (77 and 76 SPR) to be upgraded to 79-80 to be used as good leadout riders, but unfortunately it hasn't happened, and now they are too old to add anything to the roleplay-scenario (turning 29 and 30 respectively).

I have picked up everything remotely close to PT level domestiques now, and before Vlatos also declines I would think it would be interesting to have something better than an 78MO rider with relatively poor backup stats.

942 Georgios Bouglas can be used as a temporary fix, before adding something more interesting!

He is currently level 4.35 and will max with:
FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
72647058736671547778626758

Instead of changing a bunch of stuff, I would ask to upgrade his current stats to these (his max stats as stated above), but NOT change his development. This would give him 1 season with these stats, before turning 30 and maxing out with these stats:

FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
74647058756772557980626758

This would make Bouglas a valuable leadoutsprinter, but he would never become a top sprinter himself. Being 30 in the season of maxing out, he would be 31 before being training eligeble, and thus missing the opportunity to make him any better. So basically he would be a 2-3 years leadout solution for a decent sprinter and nothing more! But this would give room for adding a level 1-2 rider with similar stats or better, to close the gap from Tzortzakis - and even more importantly, to ensure that greek cycling isn't going from pretty good, to absolutely bollocks once Vlatos also stops. The interesting thing is, that Bouglas actually is performing pretty well currently in the Tour of Qinghai Lake, where he won a stage and also took another 4 top 10 stageresults. He has done well on a regular basis.

-----

6406 Mikhail Kortsidakis got a relatively big boost last season, but not enough for anyone to cast any interest. I was, but he was anyhow still not good enough for any real PT relevance. He did well at the amateur division however.

I would ask to change his stats a bit. He is currently level 3, not levelling up I would assume being in the amateur rankings. He is 25 next season, and his stats looks like this:

FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
74636854727268666572767073

As he is pot 3 only, he will max out with 77 Prologue as his key stat, if going for such a stat. Alternatively a decent roulleur - but only for helping purpose with 78FL, 69HI, 67COB, 67SPR and 75ACC.

One thing we could do, was to change his cobble to 73 and his sprint to 67, while upping his pot to 4. Like this:

FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
74636854727268736772767073

This would make him max out at the age of 27 with stats that looks like this:

FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
77636954767570777073777073

or

FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
77637154757470776772807173

This would make him be ready to take over from Karatzios, who will max out at the same time, but being 30 at the time... Also it would make him a decent domestique for all divisions, while never being a top rider. It would however be possible to train him (if trained each season) to 81COB at max, before not being eligeble for more.

-----

In order to create the next greek toprider (relatively speaking) we could take:

482 Stylianos Farantakis whom I had on stagiare contract for 2 seasons. He is basically pretty interesting, but not enough to really gamble on him. He is 24 next season and is levelling up to these stats (level 2, pot 5):

FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
67566471696465667171616274

He can max out at 78TT, but without any notable backup stats, and thus being significantly worse than Panagiotis Vlatos. He does however have the ability to become 80 Prologe - which unfortunately is not enough to fight the bigger riders either. Alternatively he can become 78 sprint, which unfortunately doesn't really help either due to his low FL stat.

So I will suggest something like this, which will open for him becoming a new Vlatos/Tzortzakis combination, with the manager needing to take some sort of gamble. +1FL, +2TT, +4RES, +2SPR, +4ACC, +5DH. This would give him a current statsituation like this:

FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
68566473696865667375616774

And would give these chances to develop him:

Sprinter:
FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
74576573757175698081616874

Track-Sprint:
FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
74566574727475668081616880

Track-TT:
FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
74566580727176667777616881

He would be 27 once maxing, and 28 before being training eligeble, so another rider without a lot of training potential, but this one being the new Tzortzakis OR Vlatos, whatever solution is desired. He will require training no matter what to become a rider winning, but he will become a PT level rider with the potential to score 300+ points. Tzortzakis was 5-600 points when he was maxed, while Vlatos is consistently 4-500 points.

-----

Looking at the hill/mountain/timetrial sector from Cyprus/Greece combo, we have recently seen riders maxing at 75 or below. These stats are outdated, and no longer of any use, and while many of those riders with decent MO/HI stats are coming close to an end, I feel like it is needed to update this section aswell:

Perikles Ilias, 33
Constantinos Thymides, 33
Armanto Archimandritis, 33
Andreas Christofi, 33
Marios Athanasiadis, 33
Neofytos Sakellaridis, 30
Polychronos Tzortzakis, 30
Vassilis Adamou, 30
Petros Gkazonis, 29
Charalampas Kastrantas, 28
Konstantinos Efstathiou, 28

From this sector, only Andreas Miltiadis, 23 (amateur team), Michael Christodoulos, 22 (not signed), Zisis Soulius, 23 (stagiare), Anastasios Koumpetsos, 24 (stagiare), Miltiadis Giannoutsos, 21 (Festina), Ioannidis Kiriakidis, 22 (amateur team), Mikhail Mavrikakis, 25 (not signed), Ioannidis Spanopoulos, 26 (not signed) and Nikolaos Ioannidis, 26 (Festina) are present.

As indicated not a single one of them has attracted any real interest. I have picked up 3 on 50K wages, because they were greek, while the rest is not being signed. This is the best indicator, that the stats need to be adjusted (if only ever so slightly!).

To give a decent balance, with riders that CAN be signed, but not necessarily will, I would upgrade the mentioned riders (signed on stagiare, amateur or free agent) with these stats:

888 Andreas Miltiadis, 23, level 2, pot 4, have these stats:

FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
67696967696862686169616767

It will give the opportunity to max him out at 75 MO, 75HI and 75ACC. Alternatively 75MO, 73HI, 73TT. A final option is to go for cobbles, which would make him 74COB. I would recommend giving him:
+1MO, +1HI, +1TT, +2COB, +3REC. This would make him versatile and give several options, while still having 76 as the highest possible stat. He would max at the age of 26, being training eligeble at the age of 27. Could become a decent GC, hilly or cobble domestique, with a poor sprint and fighter stats, while mediocre in flats and physical traits. This would be his new stats for the upcoming season:

FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
67707068696865686169616767

-----

6359 Michael Christodoulos, 22, level 1, pot 4, have these stats:

FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
66586169686463535364656470

This gives him one possible outcome. Timetriallist. And he would max at 76TT. I would consider changing his potential to 5, and give +2FL, +5MO, +4HI and +5FIG. This would give him these stats instead:

FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
68636569686463535364706470

Maxing out at 75FL, 78TT and 79PRL, with nothing else notable, other than actually being able to survive the smaller lumbs on the routes. Would close the gap after P. Tzortzakis and Sakellaridis, while not being remotely close to Vlatos.

-----

6234 Zisis Soulius, 23, level 1, pot 4, have these stats:

FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
68686865727065517072577365

With the potential to become 77 sprint or 75MO + 75HI. So basically he is the equivalent to the Bouglas brothers who never signed, even when these stats were worth more... I suggest upping his potential til 5 instead of 4, which would give him a possible 77MO + 76HI or 76HI + 73SPR or 79SPR. He would max at the age of 27 and be training eligeble at the age of 28, so not a big training threat, but a decent rider.

-----

459 Anastasios Koumpetsos, 24, level 1, pot 1, have these stats:

FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
68686865727065517072577365

Koumpetsos have a very decent bade to build on, but his pot of just 1, makes it easy to predict the outcome - and that it will never be worthy of a contract. He will max out at 76HI, 71MO and nothing noteworthy in terms of backup stats. Not pathetic at all, but given that he is on a stagiare contract, already 24 next season and not leveling up, he will be 29 once maxing out, with stats that can always be picked up at 50K wages. I suggest changing his potential to 3 rather than 1. This would make him max at 78HI + 72MO or 78HI + 70SPR.

Leveling up this late will mean he got 1 season of training, at most.

-----

6282 Ioannidis Kiriakidis, 22, level 1, pot 4, have these stats:

FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
67656769676867626370697369

A pure timetriallist with nothing else to show. 76TT and 70Hi once maxing out. I would suggest giving him +2MO and +3HI. Which would make him possibly have 76TT, 74MO and 75HI. Leveling out at the level of Ioannidis and slightly better than Spanopoulos who have not gotten contracts (Ioannidis was signed by me last season) despite having been in the game for 3-4 seasons.

This would be his new stats:

FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
67677069676867626370697369

-----

5040 Mikhail Mavrikakis, 25, level 3, pot 4 have these stats:

FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
69726967717065546166625867

This will make him max at 76MO, 72HI and 71TT. Several riders with similar stats have struggled to be signed for seasons. A very simple solution. Give him +1MO and +6DH, and he should get a contract, without interfering with anything. Easy rider to max out, will never be anything but a domestique at levels above CT. Will max out at 27, and be training eligeble at 28 but at no purpose due to shabby backup stats.

-----

5110 Ioannidis Spannopoulos, 26, level 2, pot 4, have these stats:

FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
68686868706966546063656267

Spannopoulos have been in the DB for ages, and has been ever so slightly intruiging with his potential 74MO, 72HI and 74TT, but maxing at the age of 29 will make it pointless. Changing his potential to 5, however would make it possible for him to land a contract - although still difficult. That would see him maxing at 75MO instead, or give the possibility to give him 75MO and 75HI.

In order to fully cover the gap in TT stats I would recommend changing his potential to 5 and give him +2PRL and +2TT. This would give him:

FLMOHITTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFIGDHPRL
68686870706966546063656269

That way he could become either 75MO + 72HI + 76TT or 77TT + 70HI. Either way, still a rather pointless rider, but atleast he could somewhat become a domestique at all levels.

Last year SN asked me to release Sarawut Sirironnachai as he is Thailands most successful cyclist irl atm, so he'd get an upgrade. Then he noticed that he only maxed the season before, so we should wait until after this season to upgrade him. Would be cool if that could be done. I would like his stats to stay similar to his current ones, just a few ones upped a little. Maybe just increase his Hill and Acc stat by 3 stat points or something?

Now for my suggestions. This time I might be a little bit over the top with some stats but I still hope some of these riders find their way in the db.

Fung: I have suggested him already last year like that , just putting him up again. Has already some strong results in stage races and time trials.
Ovsyannikov: Currently highest scoring Kazakh rider on the CQ rankings from the ones that can be added this season. Would be cool to have him as a classics allrounder.
Gamper: Strong time trailer. Designed him to be useful with the Fabian training.
Salzmann: Has some decent results in various types of races, including cobbles.
Lyu: Statted him already last year when he was Asian mountain bike champion at a very young age. Now he also has some results on the road which confirm his potential. Maybe wait for next year to add him though. Could then imo be added with even better stats as the next big Asian climber in the game.
Bolor-Erdene: Mongolian Time Trial champion. Didn't give him great time trial skills but with high resistance and flat stats he could also contend for that title in the MG DB.
Zariff: I see sammyt has already proposed him as a sprinter. To me he seemed more like a puncheur talent from the results, but I can follow Sammyt's argumentation why he should be added with high sprint stats.
Goh: By far the strongest Singaporean rider at the moment. Imo with his results he deserves to be upgraded to make him useful.
Voloshin: Showed some good results in selective hilly races and also seems to have a decent punch
Pronskiy: Some remarkable results for his age. Won the white jersey at the Austria Tour in July and came third at the Tour de Langkawi, with a 4th spot on the selective mountain stage.
Luchshenko: Has some good results in sprint stages but also in more selective races.

Sivakov maybe like this:

Bulk order of potential additions/updates in the spoiler using the Daily DB stats as a guide with an attempt to modify for a MG context - will try do some more down the line. Don't expect any of these riders to be added 100% as they are, purely aiming for a rough guide in terms of potential abilities Wink

You aren't seriously proposing that we increase twice declined Jakob Fuglsang to 78 mtn.

Not that I'd be upset to see another 78 Danish climber, but that's just hilarious.

May have put that in as a treat for you Pfft in all seriousness, while we don't tend to undo declines it is unusual to have riders like Fuglsang and Mollema who were pretty useless in game but GT top 5 contenders IRL - makes for an interesting test case Smile

Throwing in my suggestion for Sivakov for good measure. Also something I think would be preferable would be to load in a bunch of big climbing and stage racing talent this year with the current set of declining top tiers in mind. I think that this season, in real life, we've seen which future GT contenders and climbers really shine with Bernal, Sivakov, Pogacar etc.

While I do like your intentions, I think these updates mostly do not really help in terms of creating special rider types. Often riders, that used to be "bad", turn into really fun guys if you adjust only a couple of stats. With Fuglsang or Mollema I don't really enjoy this remodelling into "complete" riders. Consonni is just not that good (Pfft) while I would've liked another task of development for Boudat and Sarreau (updating them to lvl 4 f.e.) and not just skipping the full process. Debusschere I like a lot, but I also think he's slightly too strong here. Higuita, even more than Lambrecht in comparison, excels on mountains potentially even more than on hills. Pacher, Vendrame, Sosa, Bernal,...all look very good.

Oh, and Philipsen is not that quick, he is more of a classics sprinter Pfft

For riders that were already suggested I'd always consider the look of the stats of their directly suggesting managers over this big bunch. All in all I think you gave some very good hints on potential offseason changes, thank you for that Smile

also I love bikex proposals, very cool ideas and also pretty reasonable imo

OlegT is obviously going to have lots of competition for the signature of the only real future Russian PT class leader on the horizon given the interest folks are showing!

Maybe he'll go full cio93 mode when Herklotz appeared by not even bothering to resign half his team to clear cap space just in case!

Valentin Madouas is already in the DB but is quite shit when clearly in reality he is not that. His remarkable consistency (can't remember but in a Valverde-esque way last year he had a ridiculously high number of top 30 finishes etc) shows to his strength as a great puncheur/climber who is also a fantastic roleur, he seems to specialise in FL-HI and HI-MO races and so my suggestions looks a bit less as a future top puncheur as jph has (though I think his stats are okay there) and more as a hybrid rider who could be trained to be top in any of the three but is certainly a great rider as maxed who can operate in those hybrid stages, and indeed stage races.

Kent Main also exists in the DB as a future lower level CT domestique but as he has this year shown a new level of climbing prowess, and John-Lee Augustyn is about to decline, I thought he could fit the strong stage race domestique model Augustyn has in SA (which obviously De Bod should take and outstrip after his Austria performance but he won't become an FA). Has always shown a good TT on him coming 2nd to De Bod many times in South African races, and came this year 13th in Langkawi thanks to a strong showing on the Genting Highlands stage.

/ Connor Brown is a good puncheur and solid on longer climbs too. Shown good potential as a top 30 finisher on the U23 Italian circuit as well as strong showings in his native South Africa. Has raced on a New Zealand license until this year when he moved to DiDa CT. Shown a good kick in escape groups before, would only reach a not so useful 76SPR but understand if that aspect of him gets lowered or removed to make him just a puncheur.

/ Robert Stannard is one of the brightest talents around on the second level below the obvious Bernals and Philipsens, and is extremely versatile, with great results in hilly to medium mountain races as well as in sprints, and also doing very well in semicobbled races, no slouch in the higher mountains as scene with a very good top 20 finish in a TDS stage, and not to mention winning TTs on the U23 scene, there's really nothing he can't do, but he seems like he'll end up a puncheur-sprinter, though he has the potential to be an all-around Trentin type as well I suppose. Born an Aussie, raised and raced a Kiwi but switched licenses a couple of years ago due to the superior system in Australia. Obviously more likely to get added as an Aussie but you can't blame me for trying Pfft Is a 98 so obviously can wait a year. May need a -1MO if that CV1 looks too good.

Pavel Sivakov... just kidding Pfft

Also in the spoiler are my suggestions for changes to a couple of the stat gain system:
Spoiler
Hill Stage Racer
The hilly stage racer training type could be one of two things. It could be based on classics (Cobbles to HI and HI to TT or something similar), as SN I think suggested last year if it happened, or a straight swap of MON-HIL from regular stage racer. This creates an interesting rider type to have around as well as an option in combo-training. However I can see an argument against this which I couldn't see last year, as these are niche races and this saturates it a bit.

Classics Type Change
The option of a classics rider is very appealing to many but the training type isn't to me and others because of one thing in particular: the low ACC gains. The acceleration stat is key in both cobbled and hilly races and it just makes the classics type unfairly weak. I think with the absence here of MON/SPR as secondary stats for these riders it's only fair they have a good acceleration stat to make them competitive.

I really do believe that this is vital for classics as ACC is such a crucial stat in both types of stages that these riders specialise in. I don't think it would overpower the category if we take down FTR generally and COB on top riders (more on that soon) - let's take a look at a level one Kasperkiewicz for example:
LastFirstFLAMONHILTTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFTRDHPRL
KaspaPrem69667070687067725665766772

Pretty clearly a cobbler with skills in the hills, and I think that trek (or whoever got him) should get the choice of a slightly more hybrid rider vs a pure cobblist (still good uphill). He's obviously not the punchiest tool in the shed but I think the hybrid option deserves to be punchier than this:
LastFirstFLAMONHILTTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFTRDHPRL
KaspaPrem76667570757570805666847072

For reference his cobbles training, which gives equal ACC:
LastFirstFLAMONHILTTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFTRDHPRL
KaspaPrem76667370767770816366776872

I would want a slight decrease in COB gains for pot 6/7 (as he only has one difference) and fighter gains to return the increase in acceleration - that would make sense and make sure classics doesn't become the clear better option for any cobbler with good hill or acc at level 1 - if Kasperkiewicz had 70-73ACC with that first training, but only 79 vs 81HI, that gives food for thought. Since it is already weaker in backups in fact I think it may still be weaker than cobbles here, given the small difference in HIL. Plus the sprint upgrades So maybe the COB is fine. I don't know Pfft

To quote Football Manager: I really can't stress how important I believe this to be! 1 gain for pot 5-7 and none in general is ridiculous for a classics rider! Unless you expect every classic to be decided by a solo attack made from dotting (something I don't think the AI even does Pfft) on a long climb or stretch of cobbles. Therefore this should also be applied, even if to a lesser degree than in classics, to the cobbled rider type!.

Fighter Type Upgrade
I completely understand that the flat stat is the main stat for fighters. But the fact that they gain not much in SPR, COB and HIL is an injustice in my eyes. I know I talk about him a lot but a good example is my rider Novardianto when he was level 2:
LastFirstFLAMONHILTTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFTRDHPRL
NovardiantoJamalidin72616868697471696775746871

He had a great (expect FL iswastoo high...) skillset for CT breaks with decent skills on different terrains and in a sprint. Currently the best way for him to be trained to become an alright P(C)T level barodeur is Track-SPR, to give him flat skills, a decent sprint, good flat and a nice acc. But the fact is he'll never be a good to great barodeur because the fighter type, which is absolutely what he needs, offers him no weapons in his arsenal. Every good fighter should either be multifaceted with low 70s stats in cob/hi/spr (as he is but at a CT level) or really good in one terrain - like a KoM hunter with mid 70s MON and high acc/ftr. Classics is not an option even with sacrificing sprint as it gives no acc (above). Currently track-spr (which he is being trained turns him into a good flat rider and domestique:
LastFirstFLAMONHILTTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFTRDHPRL
NovardiantoJamalidin76616868707874697379746875

Thanks to his current skillset but doesn't do him justice as an all-around baroudeur - he doesn't even get to have a high 70s fighter stat as he should for a good baroudeur. I get he isn't destined to be one of the best, given he is pot2, but surely (even sacrificing RES and SPR slightly) he deserves something like this:
LastFirstFLAMONHILTTSTARESRECCOBSPRACCFTRDHPRL
NovardiantoJamalidin76617168727772717079786971

That is the fighter training for him, with two more points on hill, cobbles and sprint. I would give more but he's a pot 2 so any more could be making the category kinda OP and useful for leaders. With these stats he's not going to win anything in any level from the favourite's group but becomes a good barodeur without being one of the best - I doubt in anything but FLA, RES, and ACC he'd be the best in whichever breakaway he joined as this would (hopefully Pfft) be in PCT or PT for his career, which hurts me but if I make him with the stats I want you'd laugh off every one of my suggestions Pfft

Obviously this change won't affect Jams at all as he only has one more gain after this would be implemented and it would be too late for his path if it does get implemented and so he'll be training track-SPR again.

So this is certainly not me being upset one of my riders isn't going to be as good as I want him to be.

I am not sure exactly what the upgrades here would look like - that'd be for the people making these to decide (but I think my wishes for classics were clear. But I think none of these are rocking the boat, and improve the system without being anywhere near overpowered.

A couple of suggestions. Foss already in the DB, but reckon he'll get an update. Great form in the first part of the season this year. Was sick before the Peace Race and so, so we haven't seem at his best since April, but think he'll be in great shape for Avenir. Already signed by Jumbo-Visma for the next years.

Top 10 in Avenir the last two editions. Also a pretty good classics rider, with good results from Gent-Wevelgem U23 and LBL U23 for example.

4.100 as Stage Race, Time Trial, Climberv1, Climberv2 and Fabian.

Torjus Sleen also in the DB. A good allrounder. I had a bit higher hopes for him this season, but Uno-X have been driving very good as a team and Sleen has often been sacrificing himself for Foss or Leknessund.

4.100 as Hills, Stage Race and Time Trial.

Riders like Lars Saugstad and Erlend Blikra could also be additions, but at least for the latter I would like to see how he fares the next weeks/months. He was a super talent as a junior rider, but has had a lot of injuries/sickness the latest years. But then he "suddenly" won three stages in a Polish race last week.

Spoiler
Jasper Philipsen: First and foremost a sprinter of course, with a range of top 5's this year from small and big races. Won Paris - Tours Espoirs in 2017. Six out of seven Belgian MG rider with 80+ sprint is 30 years or older, so 80 potential in sprints shouldn't be a problem. In addition, he's a pretty good cobbler, achieved top 5's in both Paris - Roubaix Espoirs and Ronde van Vlaanderen Beloften. Also delivered good TT's as a junior, x2 national champion and 6th in the WC time trial in Richmond. Training examples below: sprint, cobbles, track-sprint and fabian.

Bjorg Lambrecht: His most impressive performances as a pro has been in the hills, with a 6th place in Amstel and 4th in Flèche Wallonne this year. In the mountains, he's been very consistent and won the white jersey in Dauphine for example. He finished 2nd behind Bernal in l'Avenir 2017 and been top 10 in Valle d'Aosta twice, with a second place as best. Was also second in the WC U23 road race in Innsbruck. Usually well placed in the peloton, thus warranting a decent flat stat, but does not seem to favor TT's or long races. Training examples below: stage race, climberv1, climberv2, hills.

Tim Merlier: Cyclocrosser who's proven himself to be a very fast sprinter. Won the Belgian NC and Elstedenronde this year, and two stages in Danmark Rundt last year. Also done well in the Tour of Belgium sprints the past couple of years, beating Philipsen and Jakobsen on several occasions. Unfortunately he's not been riding the biggest of races, so hard to say how fast he really is, around 76 is probably fair, but perhaps also a bit conservative. 3 very nice riders I was going to suggest myself, well done! Just going to add a few more comments. Philipsen will become a sprinter I think, he's good on cobbles but he's not world class. I think he'd do best in munchy sprints, so I'd up his hill a bit as well. In my opinion, he should be a slightly better version of the current Tom Van Asbroeck. And sign for my team Wink

Lambrecht is more of a puncheur then a climber in my opinion, Dan Martin / Dani Moreno type. Add 1 to his base hill stat and it's fine I think, also a huge talent so starting of with 71 hill should be fine in my opinion. Lastly, he should also sign for my team.

Merlier has been the fastest Belgian sprinter for a few years now, so looking at the numbers other sprinters get, I think he could be a little higher than what you suggest. You can have this one then.

Back from holyday, will do some more catching up tomorrow.

Thanks for feedback! Smile

I agree with all of your suggestions I think. Having thought more about Merlier, he probably needs 78-79 in sprint and acceleration to even contest sprints in CT, so that's probably closer to where he should be. Lambrecht +1 hill is probably fair, and Philipsen's hill stat should probably also be higher, though there's a balance there where you wouldn't want him to be developed as a puncheur. They will both sign for my team btw. Pfft

A couple of more stat suggestions for two riders already added to the DB. Again feedback is appreciated as I haven't watched these riders much.

Spoiler
Steff Cras: A climber that is also alright against the clock. In 2016 he was 5th in Ronde de l'Isard, 4th in Tour Alsace and 5th in l'Avenir, even with Lambrecht on the team. Still awaiting his real breakthrough as a pro, but top 10's in Arctic Race and Okolo Slovenska from 2018 and an 11th place in the Tour of Oman GC this year, shows promise. Not too many Belgian climbers/GC riders in the DB, so this would be a good addition imo. Training examples below: stage race, climberv1, climberv2.

Lionel Taminiaux: Versatile rider, with many good results from one-day races. Seems to get his best results in reduced bunch sprints, and handles both hills and cobbles very well. Fairly good fighting spirit as well, illustrated by his KoM jersey win in 4 Jours de Dunkerque this year and late attack in Scheldeprijs. Has a range of top 20's this year from 1.1 races, and has previously been top 10 in Paris - Roubaix Espoirs and Omloop Het Nieuwsblaad Beloften. Training examples below: sprint, cobbles, classics.

Pfft

A couple more from me,

Akmal Hakim Zakaria, MAS 25/09/1996

Akmal Hakim has a history of track results and seems to be developing into a sprinter. I have tried to give him stats that would end up as a leadout man with a semi decent TT, due to his TT results and Track Background and have used Awang as a base but made him a weaker version to signify that he would be maxing more as a leadout man than main sprinter like Awang used to be. Hopefully the stats I’ve suggested for him when dropped back to level 1 still look best for Track Sprint Training.

https://firstcycl...hp?r=44682
https://www.procy...al-zakaria

I’ve had another look at Zariff after Bikex’s comments and I criminally underrated his ability on tougher stages, I wouldn’t be against him having the stats Bikex Suggested, especially as after a little digging I’ve found a Malaysian Sprinter with more sprint results who would be more deserving of being Salleh’s successor.

That man would be…

Mohamad Izzat Hilmi Abdul Halil, MAS 18/09/1995

Although as he isn’t L’Avenir eligible I’d like him to start on level 2 instead of level 1; he is a lot weaker on Mountains and hills than Zariff so would better fit the stats I previously posted for the next Malaysian sprinter.

I've reposted the same stats previously suggested for Zariff but with the name and DOB change as he is a far better fit for them than Zariff was.

https://www.procy...bdul-halil

ID: 7063 needs a name fix,

It should be Akmal Hakim as the first name and Zakaria as the lastname. Malaysia uses a Patronym naming convention so it would be a double first name and the fathers name as the surname.

I´m just throwing a name out here so anybody with better knowledge about him can make up some stats...?!

Hannes Bergström Frisk - 1995-06-07
Best result so far
5th in GC at Tour du Maroc (2.2) 2019
11th GC Tour of Qinghai Lake (2.HC) 2018

Haven't got time to make actual stats but he is a classic GC rider with very little punch but good RES. Good TT.

Would say his younger brother Erik so far looks like he will become better than Hannes (right now they are fairly equal)

Realizing I won't get around to making proper stats I'll just throw in a but how I see Hannes maxing in key stats.
Mtn: 77
Hi: 75
TT: 76
Acc: 65
Spr: 60
Res: 75
Rec: 76

Based on how he rides the domestic races making it hard for a long time with many increases of speed as well as the fact that he have done well in Tour of Qinghai Lake two years in a row (finished 11th this year as well) showing no signs of breaking towards the end thus deserving a high REC.

Could make sense to add him at lvl 2 given his age.

Erik Bergström Frisk (1999) should be added within two seasons as the next big GC rider from Sweden. IRL he is already stronger and more versatile than Hannes. Also a couple of young sprinters in the pipeline from Sweden still to young to be added.

In general a few more half-decent Swedish riders could be good as several teams want Swedes and it's hard to find anyone even remotely sign-able even for CT level. I have few suggestions for that:
Hannes Forsby (1996): as a potential future PCT level rouleur domestique kind of guy. Former U23 CX champion.
https://firstcycl...hp?r=48640

Emil Andersson (1993): Low level sprinter, CT-leadout kind of guy. Good results in some Finnish races this year as well as the Swedish UCI races.
https://firstcycl...hp?r=13790

Staffan Arvidsson McShane (1990): Solid TT'er, rouleur kind of guy. Should be added at at least lvl 3.

Apart from Jaako Hänninen as a future Finnish star (adressed in previous post) there's a couple of options for increased depth in Finland.
Sauli Pietikäinen (1996) is already in the DB as completely worthless both now and in the future. He have ridden well in France this season even taking a few wins. Suggest upping in TT and hills to make him able to become a decent domestique on hills and for TTT'ing.

Jesper Lindahl (1997): Seems to be a pretty all-round domestique type.

Thanks for the feedback, my suggestions were definitely far from perfect so it helps to have someone to make them a bit more reasonable Pfft I agree that it's more valuable to have the more detailed suggestions, I just wanted to highlight potential options for additions/updates Smile

As it happens, have had a bit too much free time over the last couple of nights so I came up with a pretty huge number more potential additions/updates, largely at a lower level (though a few potential top riders in there). And couldn't resist adding Sivakov at the end to continue the trend Pfft Feedback is of course welcomed Smile
