Bille defends yellow on a stage were gaps could have appeared on the final climb, so very happy about that.
Dowsett losing 2'00 minutes here is not the best, but I hope PCM has actually changed to give Bille leadership and as soon as he loses yellow (if it happens) then it doesn't go back to Dowsett as leader... That is a worry from me :S

Thanks again for the fine reports, roturn!
After Zardini already lost two minutes in the opening stage it is nice to see Marcel Wyss is allowed to take the lead. With halfway in our Swiss champion is riding a flawless race, but it'll stay a tough fight to keep the pace of the best.
Schär and Gatto did a good job in their prime disciplines and already saved us from a scoreless race. Team is heading in the right direction.

Well Kinoshita looked better today but would have liked to see him create some gaps. Today always looked like it could be a day for a late attack from some "lesser favourites" to win if the played their cards right and thats what happened.

Very good start for my team to this race. The parcours is a very good fit but going up against a higher division the results are pretty good so far. Navardauskas in 3rd is great but will be hard to hold on to.
Also good to see that Pavarin, who has been a tiny bit underwhelming so far, shows himself. Shame he couldn't compete in the sprint but don't mind seeing Bystrom win.

I'm just going to go ahead and give up on LLS, he's had a good season and he is only 78 hill. Vantomme can make sure we avoid relegation at this point and while we're at it, Panayatov can secure our goal in Ukraine.
Thanks Roturn for a great report though and congrats on the win Valverde!

Wow, I really didn't expect such a great result here! Now Kinoshita just needs to defend his lead!

And with that the fairytale is over! Did not expect to lose so much time on this stage, and doesn't give much hope for the others. I'm expecting Bille to drop like a stone and Dowsett isn't exactly showing signs of being a decent back up if needed in the GC.
Congrats valverde on the win

a weeks training camp in the alps made it hard for me to follow thsi race closely and comment on it with access to only very dodgy internet.
Salas finally won something
besides from that a pretty anticlimatic race where I expected more from my duo Bilbao / costa though, although a top 5 from costa here is pretty solid! Thanks roturn and gratz valverde, looks pretty good for tou in every Kino race

Haavardsholm was signed on a bit of prayer, but he has been comfortably our best rider this season.

Waeyens losing time again, did he crash and get injured at an ealier stage or something?
Good ride by Dall'Oste, saving our race from becoming a total embarrassment.

Not noticed any.
He is just not placed in first positions. When splits happen, he rides in second part... |

Wyss is doing a great job as our sudden leader, Zardini couldn't been better. Fifth stage worked in favour of the Swiss champions strengths (stamina, downhill) while his struggle today wasn't surprising. As we didn't make it in breakaways we're somewhat dependent on Wyss' GC result, now.

Now that he's lost positions in the GC, hoping for anything like sticking with the front is kinda unreasonable now.
Great that Der joined the break and 6th is very nice at this point, but kinda disappointing that he couldn't make slightly more of it given he's a pretty decent puncheur.
Thanks for another great report Roturn!

Letting the break win was actually a pretty good move there, as it takes the bonus seconds away for the most part, although I think Froome might be a couple seconds closer to Kinoshita now.

Busy weekend so unable to comment on Stage 6 yesterday. Result went as expected really, and Bille still hoping a Top 15 GC finish at the moment. One final hilly stage to come and then it is the procession stage for the sprinters.
Stage 7 was a shock - especially when I missed Abelouache in the list of breakway and wondered where the hell he came from to take the win! Second victory this month alone for him (3 in total for the team in Sept), and it keeps the points ticking over nicely. Bille loses a bit more time on Box Hill but holds a Top 15 on GC, so no complaints from me at all. Been a great race for the team
Thanks for the reports roturn
