 Paris – Tours
Paris-Tours, a French classic with a long history and was even part of the ProTour, although it was demoted to HC status in 2009. The race traverses 234 kilometres between the French capital and Tours. Both puncheurs and sprinters have won this race before, it’s considered flat but the two short hill at the end can provide an opportunity to get away or hurt the sprinters.

Sprinters or puncheurs to win here, the race gets hilly near the end and that could lead to a victory for puncheurs or a reduced bunch finish as well as a bunch sprint, of the sprinters, Ciolek, Van Heerden, Cavendish, Avelino and Vantomme all are good chances in a sprint finish, as well as Boonen who won 7 years ago in 2008.
Of the puncheurs Zingle, Teklit, Hategeka, Haas and Bol are the best picks to get away. If the race comes down to a reduced bunch finish, punchy sprinters such as home-favourite Demare, Impey, Van der Sande,  Gavazzi or Ventoso are favoured. Hopefully a very exciting and open race ahead of us.
There are only 10 French riders here but Demare, Soupe,  Fonseca and Bar all aren't bad sprinters although some of them could be working for other riders.

I hear Dzamastagic wins this race with Smukulis and Boonen both in the top ten as well? No? Oh well, just thought that it would be awesome to see Boonen's season ending similar as it started.
As said , last PCT race with Boonen for this year. After that, only a PT wildcard follows. A top 5 would satisfy me although a win would be absolutely awesome. Boonen already won this race before so I take that as a positive signal

Our last Top 5 race goal, and we can really use the money next season so I hope we'll perform accordingly.
With Lander, Bar and Demare as leadouts, we have no excuse for not forming a strong train that shouldn't be affected by the hills and deliver Ciolek perfectly.
The rest of the team is specialized on keeping all breaks within reach, which must be the main goal first and foremost.
It's better to fail the goal because of the sprint than because of a break.

Firstly, that's the first time this season I see a rider of mine in the puncheurs table, so firstly thanks for that, allthough Jang and Sayar very likely won't get me any points.
Kip is here, but I expect him to be dropped from the peloton in the first corner. Nepomnyachsniy probably won't do much as well. |

I'm tipping Impey. His slightly higher stamina and hill stat should make a bit of a difference.
Best case scenario: Zingle gets away and wins it, but realistically I'm hoping that Keukeleire can hold on for a top ten.

We'll settle for simply being involved in the sprint/ my sprinters not being dropped.
Getting in the break would be nice aswell but somehow I doubt we'll manage either.

Looks like AMEX-Navigon is running under the radar here. Our sprinters have proven over the last three seasons they are at best a 2nd tier unit. Our best threats here are Baugnies and Breschel out top 2 cobblers, who are strong on the flats. Baugnies is an aggressive late attacker and Breschel if given the chance can be a strong post hills finisher.
No real high hopes here but looking for a miscalculation about AMEX's abilities here.

We won't make a sprint train so i have no hopes of a good result. Possibly a Top10 but who knows, my sprinters love to surprise me whatever way they can. Is it bad my hopes for a race are now "Don't embarass me"?

In theory this is our best sprint set up and should be an awesome lead out, but Bennett and Drapac together will surely end in failure. Still a top ten should certainly be possible and anything better would be a much welcomed surprise.
