Aru and Olivier need to attack anyway. So their loss was expected and it will be 3x that much in the long ITT I guess.
Though Dumoulin a disappointment here. As 78 time trialist he should do better than late top20 behind Clement 74 even. The longer ITT after the hard stages is not really suiting him then neither. |

Guess there's always two or three heavy overperformers on TTs
Bodnar though is pretty ridicolous, but hey, we got used to it. Gratz, Froomey

this is ridiculous. Ok Fiedler could clearly not win but lose to bodnar???
my chances of doing something in this race were dashed...
Congrats Froomey and thanks once again tsmoha

Hoped for more from Stannard to be fair... 8th is ok, but I want more!
Otherwise this is just a shitty small prologue, nothing happened

Valls not in good form it seems finishing behind worst TTers from my own team.
This could be annoying, but hopefully he gets a Top 5 GC!

Didn't expect much from a prologue like this, but none in the top100 is alarming. Hope this isn't an indication for the rest of the tour.

Great start from Bouet. Now for Petit to hopefully do some damage on the flat stages. |

Bodnar. I'm not complaining.
There's always a very small possibility that Bookwalter could sneak past Fiedler, but never expected anything from Bodnar... anyway, some good points from the victory and also the leader's jersey for us.
Kwiatkowski one of the best among the favourites makes this a great start for us. Hopefully our good luck continues! |

TT's still throwing up variable results, but prologue so short, expect it will have very limitted impact overall.
Trying to cover all bases here with Talansky in case the mountain stage dominates, but still decent on the hills, or Chaves if the hills dominate, still decent in mountains. We will see if this pays off or not - a top 5 GC would be very welcome, but used to falling short of expectiations this season so far.
Had expected a few more of the top stage racers to make an appearance here, although I guess with only 1 mountain stage potentially some risk attached. As others, believe the all-rounders like Kwiak, LLS and Bibby best placed to profit from this outing.

I think I should just give up on the thought that we'll end up ahead of Kenya at the end of the season.
Congratulations, I have no idea why you're winning so hard at this game.
Nerz the second best GC candidate after Nepo, that makes me hopeful he can redeem himself here.

I actually would rate LLS, Bibby and possibly even Kangert higher as the mountain stage could see less gaps as the TT`s and hilly stage.
Though a top5 for Nerz surely must be your goal here. |

Shame Fiedler didn't get the stage win, however one of the stronger polish riders doing well, can be both bad and good, but gratz to FroomeDog with daring going into the polish market
Poljanski also with debut on the big scene, so hopefully he can do something the next stages

Ian Boswell is not a real threat here, but hopefully we can get a top 10 finish and earn some points.

After 18th in Vancouver, that would count as redemption for sure.

Man, that really sucks for Fiedler. Unlucky.
Kangert, Koren and Gretsch did well enough. Nothing spectacular, just decent.

Good start from Dempster. With 74 as the highest MO stat in my entire squad, I didn't bother trying to do something GC-wise. Hopefully Docker can do something in the flat stages and Dempster/Steensen in the ITT. Still looking for our first win of the season, would be great if it came here.

Mehh knew Boily would lose time as his PRL stat is terrible so 26 seconds is not too bad hopefully somebody decides to try in the break on the next stage |

So unlucky by Fiedler. He should have won this.
I think LLS could have been a few seconds quicker (being beaten by Smukulis again) but the interesting TT will be the final one as he should be one of the strongest in that one. This one is too short to put important gaps between the favourites.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Shame Bodnar lost the lead, but he tried everything to keep it! Also relieved to see Kwiatkowski not involved in the split. Not too bothered about Samwel losing time, means he can focus on attacking on the mountain stage or helping Kwiatek. |
