Cigar City Brewing Twilight GP
The oddly named Cigar City Brewing Twilight GP is a 179km long c2 rated one day classic. The course is a lapped circuit containing two four star six hundred meter cobblestone sections. There are a total of 27 laps around the circuit in Tampa, Florida. The two most probable outcomes are that a cobble specialist will drive away from the bunch, or a sprinter manages to stay in the bunch during the cobbles and then delivers a victory. The peleton will have nineteen teams and one hundred and twenty nine riders.

Carlsberg Danske Bank is bringing a very strong cobblestone team to the race including Niki Ostergaard. Marcus Alter, Kenny de Haes and Stjin Joseph are the other hot favourites from the cobblestone department.
A lot of teams decided to send sprinters to the race. Notable riders are Tyler Farrar, Kevin Peeters, Armindo Fonseca, Benoit Sinner, and Mattias Westling. Eddie Stobart should have a very strong lead out train with Renshaw, Opie and Gavazzi all being present at the race.

Don't know why I applied for this race, but I'm ready for another failure. Anything more than failure is already good for me.

Shocked I didn't bring Vingerling here.
Well plenty of cobbles so hopefully this will not be a sprint.
Lebris should do well here. Tons of cobbles, no climbs and also possibly a chance to use his sprint.

Guess I should hope for a bunch sprint, though I doubt it will happen.
For the cobbled sections Kulppi and Lovassy could surprise (unless the AI makes them work for Westling in stead...)

Think Farrar is up for either, he holds his own on the cobbles pretty well (71 cob) so I'm hoping maybe to see the bunch somewhat reduced to make his life a bit easier as he sprints home for the win.

Farrar has to be a threat as a home talent, but so should Robert Bush of AMEXpc. He will need to distance himself from Farrar to avoid a sprint finish with him, but Bush has good acceleration and a decent sprint, combined with his cobble rating give his a chance to win his 2nd race of the season.

Hope for less cobble-influence. Reports said that these are easy-to-go downtown cobbles, anyway.

Don't see a bunch sprint deciding this one. If the break don't take it I fancy a late attack from a cobbler to take the win. |

If this is won by a breakaway or sprinter, suicide is a valid option.

Really need Altur to spoil this C2 race for the CT managers.

Hmm, hope that Kenny can show how strong he really is here. A top 5 is a must, to be honest..

Don't have high expectations for this race, but hoping Eric Young can deliver a good placement

I'm considering folding my team after this one. Just can't catch a break this year, and the cobbled AI treats my team so abysmally every race ,t hat I don't know if it's worth it.
Edit: I had 7 GUYS in the final group, and yet Ostergaard follows the first attacks and ends up dying, with no further organization from my team. It is just so hard to stay calm when this happens again and again.

What a bitch, this race has gone largely like my season has done, it promised much early but now is a bag a sh*t

Well, those 2 race days could have been better spent elsewhere. Looks like Altur isn't ready for the pressure that comes with being the top favourite.
