Post Danmark Rundt
The PCT is off to Denmark for the Post Danmark Rundt, or simply the Tour of Denmark. A race in which only time trialists that do not fear some hills will figure out who's the best.
The race starts off with two generally flat stages, with two KoM sprints appearing in stage 2. Regardless, almost every sprinter should be able to survive them with ease.
Then, the real race starts with a 174-kilometre stage that can probably best be compared to the Amstel Gold Race: Some very short, but steep hills. Especially the final circuit (2,5-ish laps) should create some time gaps between the puncheurs, hybrids and pure time trialists.
Stage 4 is another sprint stage, although it's a short stage this time. Then the stage race finishes with an almost 30 kilometre time trial, which should allow the time trialists to make a comeback in the GC. The question is: By how much?
One person probably doesn't care too much about this question too much: Coppel, who would easily have been the favourite to won the GC. However, with their team not participating in this band, the Frenchman will have to watch this race from home!
Then there's the question which ability is going to be more important: Climbing hills or time trialing? Or a combination of both? Judging by last year, in which ignatiev won ahead of four time trialists, it's likely going to be the TT ability. The time trialists with the best package for this race are Ignatiev, Brändle, Koren, Kung and last year's second place Steensen. Though top time trialists Zmorka, Durbridge and iVennet could have a saying in this if stage 3 doesn't create large time gaps, too.
The puncheurs on the other hand will be trying to keep their lead after stage 3 in the tine trial. The battle for the stage 3 win seems to be quite open, as weaker puncheurs have the backup abilities to threaten the stronger ones. Judging by Moazemi's 10th place last year though, they really need to step up their game this time if they want to win the GC.
Then there are riders who are decent at both time trialing and climbing, but don't excel at either. Navardauskas and Bazhkou are the bestof those, who likely lack that little bit extra to fight for a GC win. That said, their teams are probably hoping for an anonymous top 10 or even top 5 result.
Obviously, the three flat stages and yellow jersey potential also attracted quite some very big sprinters.
Mohs and Ewan are the strongest, though Guerao and Vantomme also have a very decent shot at one or two stage wins. Special shoutout here goes to Van Asbroeck, who actually has a 66 TT stat and might sneaklily get a good result result with the help of bonification seconds.

Interesting race here, most importantly, it's Sobota's home race! So I had to do it justice.
There's a tough sprint field, Mohs and Ewan should be hard to beat but we have good support so maybe we'll get lucky, it'd certainly be a proper tribute to our greatest rider to take a stage.
Otherwise, maybe Hansen will be spurred on be the home race (at the very least to do a good lead-out for once ) or Kono is a wildcard of sorts and I'd be really pleased if he could push for a top 10. On that note, Bazkhou, Nava and Kuboki are really cool riders for this race and I'd love to see one of them do well enough of the hill stage to take the spoils, it'd require some proper aggresive racing from Dowsett and co. to really dislodge the TTists, but it'd make for a fun race.
Thanks for the preview/posting Aquarius/Vien! Now let's watch Van der Sande and Van Asbroeck somehow finish with 2 stage wins between them.

It's freaking STAN TIME BABY *airhorns*
More hyped for this race now I remember it has a hill stage Roux with a good standing in the puncheurs column but really hope we don't get screwed by leader choice like Japan and we go all-in for Stan to stay with the puncheurs and distance the TTists as he did so well in Norway. Tosh is an outsider in the sprints, can only hope trek is right. Hope for a top 5 or 3 somewhere maybe and consistently in the points from him.

Maybe Guillen can get a top 10 in one of the flat stages and I hope we can be present in some breakaways. But overall we're just here for the experience

Iirc, last year's hilly stage was ridden quite hard, with a few upsetting individual results (like Steensen). If one of those less strong puncheurs like Zmorka or hopefully Durbridge somehow manage to hand on there, they should be capable to gain back their possible losses in the final TT. So, I'm rooting for Durbridge for obvious reasons.
Thanks for the preview!

Do I really want Steensen to repeat last year? - Yes.
Will he repeat last year? - No
Anything at all in our home race would be really nice considering how far we've fallen.

well this is ours to lose with Ignatiev. Was torn on sending sprinters here, where the game might use Ignatiev as leadout man for our train and having weak support on the hill stage. Oh well, could be nice with a GC win

Thanks for the excellent preview Vien
The thought process was that Mullen is useless, so anyone else can have a go...let's see if that pans out.
Looks like some really interesting options are here: Bazhkou, Kuboki, Ignatiev, Koren, etc.
Hopefully Vanendert can do something for us, but as ever this sesaon, these hill races are a bit of a wash for us. Baugnies was sent here to f*ck some stuff up.

Need to get some results now, especially in Stage Races. But looking at the field, don't think I can realistically hope for more than an anonymous Top 10 from Navardauskas.
Thanks for the preview

Come on Tosh... 12th is crap, at least Kennett gets some U25 points. Roux being dropped could be a blessing in diguise AI-wise, and even give him some freedom for Stage 3 and breakaways whilst letting Bazhkou lead the GC.

Time to accept Drapac is not a top sprinter and his results last year were a fluke.
