I have no idea who came up with this cruel idea for a race.
Around the town of Zörbig, which apparently is known for its molesses made from sugar beets (whatever the hell thay may be), the inaugural edition of the Sachsen-Anhalt Classic is raced. Around this town, we find a cobbled roads which will pretty much kill the riders (*grabs popcorn).
Let's see which riders actually have the guts to ride over these roads.

With a list this long I can hardly be wrong about not mentioning the winner, can I? Anyway, it should be a tough race in any case, without many large groups surviving in the end. At least, that's what we can expect (right?)

Looking forward to this outing on the cobbles. Bush has flattered to decieve thus far in WCC colours, with one good peformance to gain a 5th place in a C1 classic, but not much apart from that. Really have to expect he makes at least the top 5 here, otherwise he is in danger of scoring less points this season in CT than he did as an un-maxed rider in PT!!! Plan A would also have his key domestiques Naesen and Backaert mopping up points inside the top 20.
Let's see if my optimisim is well placed or if disaster awaits  .

This is basically Herning replacement, just longer as it seems, so less chances for lord Bakari ;(

Time to get our season back into form! Cobbles are what we do best and they've been pretty kind to us thus far. So ontop of the usual pressure this is also a Goal race for us (Win, of course). It's out third and final race specific goal so we really need to bag it and earn our first ever successful goal...
G has all the attributes for this one. It's flat and tough, and if there is a group left he'll be a good option in a dash. Stefan can just tempo it. Never know with Martin, but he can handle the rough stuff. Behind those three (if that wasn't enough) it'll be worth keeping an eye on Jyme and Nardin, both of whom have popped in cobbled points this year.
We really should be winning this one. But i'll take a Podium+T10 double instead.

Jams gets his turn to lead and apparently he's better than a few leaders so that's nice! Hoping for a break because this one's about pure power and Jams' best hope would be on some elevation here and there to beat the likes of Bakari (who could well come top 10 like Herning last year I think). That said, the little legend has surprised before.

This is the kind of race Boonen was brought on to perform in. Without hills being a problem, it will be his backup stats hurting him from a potentially big result. If he can't do it, Ostergaard will have to step up. Bottom line - we need to get something out of this race.

Zafferani getting his chance to lead us, doubt he'll be that successful on 70 Cobble but if I'm lucky the fact he's my team leader might help him finish ahead of stronger riders if they sit up not wanting to help chase a team leader down or if he gets into the break and steal a point one of those ways.

I'm starting to understand why we cobble so poor in the PT. Tom David wouldn't even be the Pre-Race favorite in the CT 
Some very strong cobblers here. I need to size up in that area next season for sure

Nice win for TMM. Glad Carlsberg could make up some points on everyone else here, but Kraftwerk really doesn't like to lose terrain to anyone... Congrats guys!

After two and a half years, the strength of our cobbles team finally pays off! Well somewhat. We don't get the win, but I can't be mad about that, considering how much stronger Thomas is than the rest on this tough of a race. And Lindeman is a better cobbler too. Boonen finally comes through and shows some of that old fight with the podium, and as Matt and others have already alluded too, I think we might still get the most points from this race from 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 12th. De Maar did better than I expected on a flat course, which shows his resurgence, and Ostergaard was alert in following attacks while still grabbing 6th.
Hopefully this is only the start of something. We've got quite a few races coming up here and the team could use a continuation of this luck to stay in the promotion hunt.

I COMPLETED A GOAL!!!!! I COMPLETED A GOAL!!!!!! WE ARE NOW 1 FOR 17!!!! By the end of the year we'll be 1 for 20, that's an unimaginable improvement for the squad.
G did the job. His quality really standing out and the team put in the effort to make it easy. Strong showing form Hristov to still get in the Top10 and bag a few extra scores. Would have liked some more backup placings, but we got the win so i can't and won't complain about that.
