The final CT stage race of the season.
Traversing multiple countries in South America, many will expect a strong puncheur to take the GC here. After a short prologue, followed by a potential sprint stage, stage 3 sees our only summit finish (1 KM @ 10%). The toughest climb in the race comes on stage 4, but are the climbs there too far away from the finish for a big impact? Stage 5, the stage where the race was won last year, will be one everyone is looking at: the race could be won there with only cat.4 hills to be dealt with late on in stage 8 after that.
2014 recap:
Borges celebrating his stage 5 win.
It was an early break which decided the highest GC places in the 2014 Ruta America del Sur, a very similar route to the 2015 edition. Borges, too good in hindsight to be allowed in the break, had no problem seeing off his breakaway company to win stage 5, eventually winning the GC for Bonsucro. The rest of the GC podium was filled with other escapees who otherwise had little to show from the season: Mendes in 4th the best of the favourites. A race where Geschke won the points jersey.

With Faso going much worse than predicted, we just can't do bad here, period. We don't have the best of the teams but if we don't win at least the prologue and don't get one rider in the top 10 overall I don't see ourselves ending up even in the CT top 7, considering some of the teams here. Hopefully the mountain stat will count more than it should to favor Girardi and Rolland because otherwise we have no worthy puncheurs... Ratto is here and PCM picked him as a captain, and if experience is talking, then he'll fail badly. Moser he's here as well. We're fucked.
Worried about the prologue mostly, didn't expect that there would be such a strong field here... Meh. I'm picking an unexpected winner for this one, thanks for the detailed preview The Rider

Good preview and covers it all perfectly
Durasek to take a good place on the opening stage and hopefully stick with the rest. Maybe Lejman can do something, but brought him for some chance of a weird overperformance
Like this race and hope the race will be entertaining to watch, follow and stalk
EDIT : Also strongest possible hill lineup here, Matysiak and Zielinski might take an surprising turn to the race

Time for Pelucchi to remove the 0, he had a good season so far, but a win would be awesome!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Stage win goal here so Mezgec really needs to perform well or we can get a lucky breakaway win. Thanks for the preview The Rider |

I wish we were here.
Likely the most important race for that 8th spot which could decide who promotes, if In-N-Out stay below say 150 points here and we have a good Zuri Metzgate (were we have our best possible team where Zeits should be favourite could see us stay above them. It could really decide it here if that's were the promotion spots are given...
Like supporting Lavoine earlier, it feels weird supporting Mendes and Vastaranta here.
I was going to say that I hope for an exciting race but tbf I hope Vastaranta/Mendes take controlling wins all through the race and Richeze dominates the sprint stages.
Thanks for the great preview the rider as well.
EDIT: In the flip-side, if Generally doesn't score too much here (sorry Matt ) we could challenge for a top 7.

Pleeeease AI, don't let a break take this. If Rabon and Serebriakov perform the way they're capable of (top-5 GC Rabon, some podiums by Serebriakov) we might well take a decisive step for the title. With Compal and Indosat not here, we should gain on them (I hope so at the very least!), and outscoring Fablok and Strava wouldn't exactly harm either (nothing personal!)
Your reports have always brought me good luck this season, The Rider, let's hope that it doesn't change

Expected this to be more mountains than hills (poor planning yes I know!) so not expecting much for this race. It's all about the breaks for me

Really hope the GC won't be going to a breakaway again this year.
With this being our last race of the season it natutrally has a lot of focus and the route should suit Vastaranta very well so I have high hopes (if we get a decent AI). Pökälä/Renäng. Especially the Swede needs to take it up a notch to match his good results from last season where he won several prologues.
Last race ever for Westling in our colours. Wonder if he could be persuaded to make ita grand total of at least one sprint participation this season? I doubt it...

Thanks for the preview The Rider
Though I don't know why the f-word I send Martinez here. He will score no points, better brought Kinney here. Last race of the season for us, and hopefully we can end with a bang!

We brought both Mendes and Bole (and Hirt but he probably won't do much, just had some spare race days). With our two top guns a nice result should be in for us. Hopefully this is our ticket to gain one or two more places overall.

Absolutely vital race to the outcome of our season, especially with possible promotion riding on the line. Acevedo MUST perform if we are to promote. Top 5 please, pretty please. A podium would be excellent. I can almost not bear to watch this, that is how important this race is! Hopefully we can get some sort of same-continent bonus to aid us on our way

I'll take this result. Velits with a decent performance here, and Serebriakov within 20s, could maybe take over the race lead due to boni seconds. Didn't expect a good result yet in this stage, and this performance gives me hope for the rest of the race.
Congrats to roro (is that your first win of the season, or did I miss any?), and thanks for the report.
