GP Plouay
236km around the hills of northern France is what the C1 rated Plouay GP is all about. The race has been around since 2007 and has had 8 different winners throughout those 8 years. The riders will loop around a ~26km course a total of nine times. Each lap has two smaller hills and a big one as well. The race should suit punchers and sprinters that can get over hills.
Sprinters | | | Punchers | | | Name | Spr | Hill | Name | Hil | Acc | Vantomme | 82 | 64 | Betancourt | 79 | 74 | Nelson | 81 | 60 | Meyer | 78 | 77 | Richeze | 80 | 66 | Bellis | 78 | 75 | Impey | 80 | 73 | Hoogerland | 77 | 72 | Vanoverschelde | 80 | 62 | Zingle | 77 | 76 | Keukeleire | 80 | 68 | Felline | 77 | 78 | Nizzolo | 80 | 64 | Bol | 76 | 67 | Greipel | 79 | 65 | Sinkewitz | 76 | 66 | Farrar | 79 | 62 | Passalacqua | 76 | 69 | Docker | 79 | 68 | Ventoso | 75 | 76 | Soupe | 79 | 66 | Belmokhtar | 75 | 64 | Demare | 79 | 74 | Wallays | 75 | 69 |
Betancourt, Meyer and defending champion Bellis lead the way for the punchers. An attack from around 7km out is how Bellis won it last year, will he be able to repeat that feat?
Teams have decided to send their best sprinters for this race, but the sprinters’ ability to get over the hills is vital. Impey and Demare are the two strongest sprinters who can also ride up hills, but will they be able to beat the pure sprinting power from riders such as Vantomme and Nelson?

This is one of our last chances to grab points for promotion, hopefully Sinkewitz can do something which he has failed at for most the season. Der and Stachowiak both also could do something good. Hopefully with some luck we can get some points.
Thanks for the preview jihardy.

This race was made for Demare. France, pretty hilly but flat rated...
I'm not sure if I want him to do well here though, since we're basically promoted already and he'll want more money next season anyway as a maxed rider. More results only mean tougher renewals from now on.
If a pure sprinter wins this, I'm surprised. I'd bet on a late breakaway anyway.

Made a bet with only sending my hill squad here, but think it will be worth it. The break might take this, so it's important to get into that one!
Not gonna be mad if this goes wrong, as it is a strong field here. Also Impey will definitely win in a bunch sprint

Dammit I'm here... Well I'm screwed basically... Passalacqua do something please. Or Finetto. Well this will be a failure either way so hoping to limit the damage. Thanks for the preview jihardy.

Would anybody believe me if I said that I have a good feeling about Geschke here?

Nelson will be dropped. Kobe won't sprint. Greipel, who knows. Soupe will be wherever Nelson is. No-one else will be seen all race. We'll score zero points. Not that it matters as we're already relegated, so take it easy boys as you've got nothing left to race for

Docker, Meyer and Trentin here. Should be a very good trio for this race. Will be disappointed if I don't make the top 10.

AMEX-Navigon has their best sprinters here at Plouay. It will be interesting to see if the squad has enough hilly abilities to stay together and get a sprint train formed for the finish.
This should be a fun one to watch, but based on past experience the AMEX sprinters are just as likely to implode and come straggling to the finish line was out of the points.

I have hopes for Reimer to do well here, but he don't even get a mention in the preview. Bad or god sign? |

With that sort of crazy profile I'm willing to bet a break takes it.
Regardless we have Keukeleire here to try to hold on for a bunch sprint and Zingle is actually in the top handful of puncheurs (and has a decent sprint/acc on him) which makes me hope that the race is more selective.

Bellis won this last year and the race suits him down to the ground in terms of length and profile and I believe in him again here it's a crazy sprint if it comes down to it as shown last year and turns into luck |

This race is made for Impey with the flat rating and plenty of bumps, so hopefully he can grab a good result. I have a feeling the break could take this though, so we should try and get someone in there in case. |

FD: Kind of similar to Barcelona, I would say (a bit tougher, probably). Given how well the peloton and AI worked in that race, there should at least be a decent chance of holding the morning break away from the win.
Impey surely the man to beat here, will be interesting to see if he can deliver.

Would love to get some breakaway chance here, either an early break or Summerhill wanting revenge for the mess of Rheden. Time to get a few of those points back.

My one and only race not at C2 level, so really hoping just not to be embarrassed here. A day in the break will please and anything else is a bonus!

Not a single rider in the Top100!!! Really? Did not one of the rider give a sh*t about. A general attempt to join the break would have been nice... but no!

Absolutely amazing, Impey delivers again. Everyone seems to have picked up their performance now to ensure promotion. I think I can now rest in the knowledge that we are going up! |
